Cha Jin-Woo (Jung Woo-Sung) has a hearing impairment. He is not comfortable speaking due to his disability. Cha Jin-Woo is used to expressing his feelings through drawings instead of speaking. He happens to meet Jung Mo-Eun (Shin Hyun-Bin). She is an aspiring actress and expresses her feelings through words. Cha Jin-Woo and Jung Mo-Eun fall in love with each other.

And none can surpass the silence and masterful facial expressions the actors brought to the forefront. I would recommend to any true patron if the arts. Irene Aug 11 2024 6:33 pm I loved,loved this show! Although it made me cry too much. The main actor, Jung Woo-Sung was just absolutely fabulous. Since this was the first time I saw him I’m wondering if he’s deaf because if not then he was even more amazing because I completely thought he was deaf. His facial expressions were just so heartfelt that I found myself answering to him! Also he has a gorgeous face! Shin Hyun-Bin was also great. However, after such a great love I was hoping they would end up together again, forever!

Tomomi Weir Jul 31 2024 1:47 pm It was a beautiful watch, it's not everyone's type but it's a slow watch that warms your heart and draws you in. It's a bit of a melo vibes with slice of life. My first time watching Jung Woo Sung and I'm so glad I got to see him act, he was amazing and he didn't say a word I love how he expressed himself as a deaf person and I loved his chemistry with his friends and Shin Hyun-Bin. I felt, happiness, sadness, frustrations, a bit of every emotion and I was truly touched by this drama.

And listen to the music. The story line was great . How they are connected to each other. Both lead actor and actress are so handsome and beautiful respectively. I rewatched some of the episodes so I can watch him vs reading English subtitles. I hope more people will watch it first then read reviews.

I love the lead actor and actress with the come back of Woo Sung (whom I started watching since Padam Padam) and my top 5 kdrama crush of all time, Hyun Bin together. At the first episodes, its a bit slow, but for some reason idk, I keep on wanting for more. Kudos for the team in creating such dramas that were not made for a lot of audiences which may be the reason of poor ratings but still not given up on finishing it.

The acting was fantastic and the cinematography like a first run film in the theater. It reminded me in many ways of the quality of the Four Seasons Korean dramas that began the Hallyu Wave two decades ago. Beautiful.

How I wish this series would go on and on and I keep watching it for a long time.. that is how good every episode of this Drama is.. every one was Amazing.. intro is mind Blowing!! Fantastic Acting by both leads , Fabulous cinematography.. I think my 2024 is done and may be I won't be able to find something of this standard in this year...

mmmmm Jan 22 2024 9:54 am I love it so much. Kudos to the cast and crew, you’ve created an amazing, exquisite art piece, and you should be Very Proud of yourselves. I’m not exaggerating: Watching this one week after week felt like watching a painting or an art piece unfolding for me. Couldn’t take my eyes off of any scenes. The writing, casting, directing, pace, cinematography, art direction, music and costume and other departments should get commended for being this bold in creating such a show that has no match. It’s different and daring in a way as it is a very slow, reflective, beautiful show that deals with The Essence of life. No magical beings, just ordinary people with their light and not so light sides.

Thanks to this show, I haven’t left the K ent industry for good. Finally, something good comes along. This is a different show, and I’m saying this in a good way.

I’m placing this on par, or even higher, than Strangers (Forest of Secrets 1). It’s a little funny to see that it hasn’t been received very well by its home audience when it is just so stunning and beautiful. Instant classic.

The drama version of Il Mare. Reminds me also of When the Weather is Fine and My Ajusshi.

I like the unique relationship and their problems afterward was natural and also frustrated me.. the ending was bitter sweet but thanks they somehow save the day... Jung Woo Sung was Amazing as always.. the way he would act only through his eyes was Mind Boggling... Shin Hyun Been was charismatic as well.. I would recommend if you like slow burn..

I think the acting was outstanding, and the plot was not just about Jinwoo and his struggles with his hearing but just his life intertwined with Moeun's. The supporting actors were good and had elements of fun comedic moments. The music was good, and used often. Watching this week to week it did not seem overused but might be different if binged in a short period of time. It's refreshing to see two adults in a romance and finding ways to support each other.

I've really enjoyed the main & supporting actors/actresses, they've done a great job in this series - but by episode 15, the storyline has become stagnant or lost?...how do you go from you're the best thing since slice bread, to...well, I'm just not so sure now about hooking up with a deaf guy...but she then breaks down when he calls it quits for a little misunderstanding?

However given everything that's happened in his past, isn't it a bit stupid to suddenly become sensitive to what could be a tiny miscommunication? We've had 14 episodes of this romantic build up and all comes apart in 1 episode near the end?

I hope they do patch things up, I'd be so disappointed if they just remain friends, can't keep us all hooked on this series, only to find out, the same mistakes are repeated...and he goes off for another 8-10 years hiding in a cabin painting like a madman again, that would be an insufferable ending.

Bee Jan 11 2024 8:18 pm I absolutely love this drama. It's healing, comforting, therapeutic and lovely. The primary actors are outstanding in their performance it feels so real and not staged. Let's also not ignore the soundtracks it's amazing as well. The choice of songs gives every scene a balanced ambience. Speaking of soundtracks who knows the song that was playing in the scene in episode 11 where she covered his eyes with her script while he was painting and she had on a pink shirt, the song is a mix of English and Korean and was very soothing to hear it mentioned something in the line of when I close my eyes you take me to your world to your home. I have been unsuccessful in my search for it.

Zoe Jan 09 2024 10:33 pm I want a happy ending for them. This was a drama I did not want to start watching, but I love the actors so I thought I’d give it a try. I didn’t expect to get so invested emotionally. This is a very bittersweet drama, the ML is deaf so the atmosphere of the drama is filled with calm, gentle, and melancholic music and sounds. The cinematography is mesmerizing and has a retro feel to me, not sure why. There are cliche moments, but they do not put you off. I’m finishing episode 13 so I don’t know how this drama will end, but I’ll cry a river if it’s a sad ending.

● IN THE PAST: • Do-hun is the stalker you're talking about. • He was stalking Seo-kyung because he was in love with her. • But she was dating Jin-woo at the time. • To make them break up, Do-hun set a fire as a threat. • Seo-kyung broke up with Jin-woo to protect him. • Jin-woo thought she was just being mean.

● NOW: • Only Seo-kyung and Do-hun knew about this, but Mo-eun discovered when she overheard them talking in the gallery. • She is hiding it from Jin-woo until now.

It's been a long time since I didn't watch any Korean shows, but this one really caught my eye and I can't stop thinking about it, it's very sweet and very gentle.

Now, I have a question to those people who have watched the Japanese version and are now watching this one: until now, could you spot any difference between them? If so, what are they?

I must admit, it will break my heart if they hurt each other in any way. It will be a pity. I already heard about the 1995 version before I knew about this one and it seems to be a beautiful show, but good lord... I don't have the heart for this.

People with disabilities or infirmities deserve love too. Love seeing Woo Sung Jung in a drama again, he's been a favorite of mine for two decades. Beautiful expressions on his lovely face. And the actress Shin Hyun Bin first impressed me a decade ago in the short drama masterpiece Mimi, playing second female lead back then. She has a very expressive face, too! They make a nice screen couple.

I am happy and excited to see a new this modern version and how it will hold up to the original.

There are many Deaf actors out there who have limited role options!!! Maybe we should have Japanese.actors play Korean roles here in the west.

A man lost his lower body strength due to nerve injury from a lumbar puncture. His son was born deaf. The dilemma was that his son was very skilled in body movement and was a natural athlete but his Dad could not play ball or do sports with him. The Dad had hoped he would have a son to share words and ideas with. It was not easy to do. I often wonder how they are now years later. Thanks for your directing skills! Jaine, from Iowa USA
