Plot

Shunpei Kaga (Daiki Shigeoka), Koshiro Mizumoto (Tomohiro Kamiyama) and Ayumi Kohinata (Kaya Kiyohara) have been close friends sine they were children. Koshiro Mizumoto confesses his feelings for popular Ayumi Kohinata and their relationship develops romantically. On the day of their first date, Ayumi Kohinata and her unpopular classmate Zenko Umine (Miu Tomita) suddenly change bodies. Ayumi Kohinata is devastated and nobody believes her, except for Shunpei Kaga. Ayumi Kohinata looks for a way to get her body back.

VB Jan 19 2023 5:12 am It's so sad to see that when you're young, you can have such a distorted worldview about what it means to be beautiful and popular. Good looking doesn't guarantee that the person is good.

I found this drama to be painful to watch.

If there's a story about people switching bodies then both of the characters should have been bad people...not just the fat and ugly person in this story.

If Ayumi was a mean bully to Zenko ...and Zenko desperately wanting to be like Ayumi...but Ayumi has friends. Zenko had nobody.

I don't understand thar she was wanting to be Ayumi, she switches and is still jealous and uncomfortable in a better body. Why didn't her character dress up to look better. What a waste of time and effort. That's what I found so difficult to watch.

Kaga was such a sweetheart. I'm glad he was kind to Zenko at the end. She just needed someone like him to be in her life.

Koshiro was just self centered and annoying. I didn't like him.

Otherwise, you'll either like it or not. Both girls did a great job and great story...

Only regret is i thought Ayumi will be together with Kaga But seems like the ending they just remain friends

Natalia Jul 23 2021 11:19 am I love this show but I also just wanna say Kaga Is The Best Human Being To Exist And I Love Him and I also wish that Ayumi and Kaga would’ve ended up together :( like I know Koshiro did that whole thing where he stayed with Umine because he wanted to figure out how to switch bodies to help Ayumi but he could’ve at least told her his plan instead of making her think he doesn’t like her. But Kaga actually stayed by her side and even figured out it was Ayumi before anyone else so I just think Kaga is better for her. I wish I had someone like him in my life.

Haru May 14 2021 2:59 am This drama makes my sanity better as if in reality this could never really happen. As I was like Umine but I'm a boy, told I was ugly, small, and even gay. But as I discover something that could let myself happy and where people know me exist and know me well before their judgments. After that explorations, I led myself into something that will never let my past experience suffer me again. Also this drama let people not to commit suicide as if the sufferings cannot be controlled. Anytime they want to end themselves, there must be a reason and a purpose why we live like this and why we look like this.

Ancy Jul 24 2019 7:58 pm I love this series.. totally!! mainly when despite what face Ayumi is in, her personality was what drew people to her. This series really strike that saying "ACTIONS speaks louder than WORDS". I love Kaga's character in the series, he is the best example of what true friends should be like :) Umine, i really feel sorry for her, what she had to endure growing up, but honestly, she wasn't at all ugly.. she was really cute, especially when she smiles, it melts my heart.. maybe she just never gave her looks a chance, or maybe her emotions was what got the best of her :( So many life lessons follows this series and it is amazing. Whoever came up with the idea of this drama, kudos!!

It's not like Ayumi was a mean cute popular girl. Which they are usually mean and selfish when they are cute and popular.. But she was soo sweet. To see this happen to her is extremely upsetting.. and I assume by the comments that ppl are leaving that at the end she decides to stay in Kagas body.. The moral is you can be beautiful on the outside and still be a horrible person on the inside. O and those cheek pinches looked so painful!

Pchan Sep 03 2018 10:24 pm I saw the fanvid and downloaded Netflix just for this.. and it was amazing. All of the main casts are good at portraying their characters. I don’t usually like body-switching drama but this is one of a kind. I watched it many times, can never get bored with Kaga! But the real ending is the one that surprised me a lot, coz I never knew there was continuation after the ending credit until I rewatched it and decided to the the ending song by Johnny’s WEST. And I LOVE the ending. めっちゃ好きやねん(^-^)

CFEC Sep 02 2018 5:11 am At first i thought it would be an ordinary teen series but i was wrong. As i finish every episode, i get all those butterflies in my stomach to watch the next episode. Great plot and great actors! Hands down to the actors because they can portray every chracteristics of the characters. Would recommend to y'all! I rate this as 10/10 ?

Makeeda Aug 13 2018 1:57 pm Honestly I watched it all about a week and half ago on Netflix I didnt really think it was gonna be anything special but boi was I wrong on so many levels I was blown away by the actors performances and I love how they highlight and a subject that is not very discussed in Japanese society so it was really brilliant see the diversity of the characters and how people can see beneath the looks and really except you for who you are as a person phenomenal series I hope they do another season because it was amazing

At first I thought the show was stupid and cringy, but then it got so good and I fell inlove with it. I highly recommend watching this. It really shows awareness around bullying and suicide and how it really is such a big thing.

It also shows that sometimes, the ugly thing isn't your face, it's your personality.

The actors are amazing the story has an authenticity that holds you and - pulls you in. Pretty much everyone knows what it’s like to not be pretty at some point in their life, to feel alone, unloved but it’s what you do with who you are that brings out your best or worst. At one point it hit me that the girl who is now in the “ugly” girls body would bring that unattractive person to a whole new level of beauty because she has so much love for herself and others. And after a while of being her, she became so freakin cute. The plot was excellent -Everyone was spot on and I give it a 10 out of 10. I was thoroughly impressed.

This series brought up a touchy subject regarding bullying and suicide but brought awareness in a way. I binged on this one for sure. Great acting and a great cast. I would definitely have this as a must see!
