Wo tae Jun 13 2021 11:36 am I'm really disappointed. I sincerely hope this reaches the showrunner(s). I'm not going to talk about the acting, since almost everyone talked about it. I'm going to talk about the queen baiting and how gay men were portrayed. The lead(male) that we were suppose to root for used a minority to get a cash. He benefited from (being) queer while not having to face any issues that queer people in Korea face everyday. You might think I'm overreacting to this, and it just a movie. Yes, maybe, but I don't think you have any idea how scary and alienated you feel. This series was made for girls who fetishes man x man relationships without any issues that they face. While they did show some queer characters (the brother and the side character) they were very one dimensional. It's all about how sad the main character was because 'he lied' and deceived people around him. This is sth I see a lot in Korean drama(s). If it's a queer character centered show it's 10 or 15 mins tops. Then, we have movies like this, that queerbates people in to watching a cis man pretending to be gay to pursue a girl. I take offense to this. I'm sorry if I could give this a zero and get the hours I used to watch this, I would.

Gina May 07 2021 2:56 am Lee Hak-Joo excellent acting besides Jung Il woo female leads no change in facial expressions very robotic, I know it's not used here in a sentence but I felt described their acting better than boring, seen it once ended up clicking forward. Plain annoying.

The lead males told the story for most of the cast.

Could it be the script or direction? Not sure.

This is only my opinion.

Now I want to keep watching this series until end. About another season, let's wait until I finished watching all. Overall, this series recommended, 8/10.

Psyhe Eunoia Dec 10 2020 5:56 am I really liked this drama at the beginning of watching it, but I don't think this drama sounded good anymore... especially the female lead ..How can she act normally like loving Park Jin Sung when she herself knows that Park Jin Sung is gay, especially the ending that doesn't make Park Jin Sung Dan Tae wan together really ... (Sorry) ...make drama is nothing special from the usual romantic drama...

kaye Sep 12 2020 10:23 am I just finished watching it on Netflix. It had great promise at the beginning but something about it in the middle made it disappointing. The actors are effective in performing their roles ... at least the lead actor and the anatagonist. I super hated Producer Nam. Made me want to punch my screen every time he appeared. I hated the character of the female lead. She's pushy yet weak. There were many instances in the last several episodes that I wanted to punch my screen too because of her.

I didn't like how the series ended. It seemed too hurried. I don't think the conflict was properly resolved. I could not believe that I actually got to say, "it was a waste of my 12 hours". Not totally though. I enjoyed the sight of the food being cooked. It could have been crafted better. Too many loose ends. It could have been wrapped up better.

He has a perfect way of being arrogant, proud, charismatic if he wants to, and downright patronizing. He is a perfect bad boy. If I could write a show for him, he would be a wealthy gangster in designer suits, always packing heat and sauntering into rooms with hands in his pockets looking like a shady king, and a cigarette slipped in the corner of his mouth

Joy Jul 25 2020 5:17 am Just in episode 4 but I hate the fact that the female lead is too daft and doesn’t have a mind of her own. She can be laughed at and talked at rudely without her saying anything or doing anything to her defense. I hate when kdramas portray the female leads to be daft and stupid it’s just soooo annoying. Also, I now know why this drama has such poor rating. It’s the worst kdrama I’ve seen this year. It’s not easy to put up a drama though but this isnt worth watching. It’s just annoying

Ms Mars Jul 05 2020 1:36 pm 'm a cool supporter of Jung Il Woo and im glad he had another drama ASAP after Haechi. He's one of my face Korean actors. Il Woo is a food lover aside from coffee. His cooking skills are a natural. When I meet him, I'm.going to request him to cook for me haha! Bucket list there! I loved the rest of the characters here and was nice getting to know more Kdrama actors. Even if a lot were against the drama's final episode, I will respect their opinion. The drama after all had sensitive issue with LGBTQ. I hope to see another Il Woo drama this year. Saranghae oppa! Congrats Team Sweet Munchies!

Someone Jul 02 2020 2:53 am I’m glad I didn’t watch this drama as much as I love jung Il woo. I think the plot sends off a very negative message to its viewers. In this time we are in it is not funny to pretend to the gay and then at the end just change everything and say you’re not. What do you expect the audience to do? Be happy that the main character ends up with the opposite sex? Why? What’s wrong with them ending up with the same gender?

As straight as I am I still find the plot to be an insult. Sorry to the writers and producers if they didn’t mean it like that but you should really think before turning a script into a drama for the whole world to watch. It’s not funny to make fun of others just because they are different from the “norm”

joy Jul 01 2020 3:44 pm (SPOILERS...) Okay. That's the word for me to describe this drama - okay. it is neither good nor bad, it is average to me. First of all, it's not easy to connect to the male main character. Jung Il-Woo does a great job of making his character, the problem is not him, the problem is Park Jin-Sung character - Jin Song is portrayed as a liar and selfish man, who lies nonstop and ends up hurting those closest to him, so as a main character it's hard to connect and understand him. As for the female main character, A jin for me is a flat and boring, childish and innocent character. Maybe if another actress had embodied the character it would have been easier to connect with her, but I just couldn't connect to Kang Ji young's childish acting. There was'nt a bad chemistry between the main couple, but they were more suited to being brothers or best friends than lovers. The main luck of this series is Kang Tae Wan. Lee Hak-Joo did an excellent job with his character, and it's hard not to connect with him, and feel sorry for him. I was hoping so much for a surprise and Jin Sung would fall in love with him slowly, but that didn't happen. And thet's how gentlemen, the drama has fallen. The message I was able to understand from it is that lies lead to hurt our loved ones. But there could have been a far greater message, especially to the South Korean audience that are known as conservative, that it's okay to love someone that is the same gender as yours, and the love story between the men's and their chemistry has been far more appealing and electrifying, and I say that from a completely straightforward point of view. Plus, the ending was fine, nothing more. A Jin forgave Jin Sung too quickly, it was completely silly and bizarre. But I was glad that Jin Sung left and let things relax and the other characters live happily ever after, which is the best thing he has done since the beginning of the drama.

Carrie Jul 01 2020 6:29 am This series started ok but ended like a train wreck. It was so insulting to gay community I don't even know where to start. I will say that the actor who played the fashion designer who was supposed to be gay was actually the only decent character.

WL Jun 30 2020 10:38 pm SPOILERS! This is the worst show ever! It started off fun, and then the straight male lead just became the worst person ever. I mean whoever who wrote this show should not be allowed to create another show that has any LGBTQ character in it. If you are going to have the gay lead end with sadness and with a horrid sad ending, why have him in it. This is stupid. I am so angry with the ending, and the entire story. A gay man/ a gay woman also deserves a happy ending.

Wasted time, energy, and bandwith watching this. Thank god there is a skip skip and speed up button to skip all the nonsense.

The entire show has only one theme. Both Park Jin Sun and Kim Ah Jin are users and used and toyed with Tae Wan for their own benefits.

I will rate this show a negative 10 out of 10.

HHZ Jun 30 2020 9:56 pm The series started very well. I loved at least the first 6 episodes. Then, as it progresses, the script & character development just keep on getting worse. I’m truly disappointed that they are making this show as queerbaiting.

They don’t bring justice to Tae Wan’s character at all. Even towards the end, they put his character on a loose thread. At the very least, they could have made him stronger and let him ended up with Jinsung’s brother. I praise Hak Joo for his acting, but this show has put his talent to a waste for such a character.

As for Park Jinsung, damn I never hated a lead as much as I hate him. I was hoping for the better good at least to let him be responsible for whatever he has done, but he ran away. He left Kim A Jin struggling by her own, when she needed him the most. What kind of an ending, to have the male lead suddenly appear towards the end when the female lead has been doing a lot of work by herself?

Oh God. Spare me from keep on pointing out the bad things in this series

I want Jinsung and Taewan to end up together or see Jinsung questions himself about his true identity for having feelings for both. It should be like that in order for us viewers to keep on the edge of our seats. Come on it's 2020 we need a provocative kdrama plot. Lol

The first moment when Park runs into Tae wan you feel like there's a connection and I really thought Park would be developing feelings for both. But it ends with a guy who can't hide his feelings for A-jin and it's really frustrating. I'm at Ep.7 and It's a disappointment. The only people saving the show are Jae Soo and Seung Eun, they make a funny couple.

I thought perhaps finally kdrama will have a positive depiction of lgbtq community unfortunately it was a let down on every episode. I wish TaeWan will have a good ending. The whole time the show talks about how Kim wants to show the world equality matters yet the story line does not give TaeWan the love he deserves.

Up to episode 8 I haven’t found any holes or forced scenes and lines. The story flow is also smooth and covers the queer community without choking it into the audience’s face. If you’re looking for an underrated dramas, you should watch this!!

I hope this is not the case and they really surprise me.

Or maybe I'm reading into it too much haha.. but comparing to Jin Sung's younger brother, Tae Wan is subtle but yeah, can feels the electric looks he's been giving to Jin Sung. Looking fwd to what would ensues, gay or not :) I like the side stories too, Ms Cha and Sang Young ( i barely recognize Kim Seungsoo here! Usually seeing him in sageuk ) and Director No + Writer Yoo. Even the a*hol Nam Kyujang is enjoyable to watch -- typical self absorbed people.

The main guy is pretending to be gay (lowkey hoping there's a bisexual twist in here somewhere) but even the way that is treated is so well done!! I was really worried at first when I heard that, but with multiple major gay characters and clear addressing of both major homophobia and microagressions - including unintentional homophobia - is done SO well. I highly recommend it and look forward to future episodes!

I like most of the actors in other things I have seen, and I will keep trying for a few more episodes, but there's nothing new here that's groundbreaking. Late Night Restaurant was a masterpiece in comparison and this show already can't touch it with a million foot pole.

I’m unable to speak korean so I watch kdrama with english subtitles, with that said, after watching ep1, the main guy was only pretending to be gay to get money for his dad’s hospital bill is what I got from the plot. I’m a proud lgbtq+ ally and won’t support a drama which failed to understand and capture what truly it is to be a part of lgbtq+ (pretending to be gay, doesn’t justify his cause) OR did the point of the drama got lost in translation? was it just an error of the subtitles translating from korean to english?

It's sad that after hak joo pplayed park in kyu in wotmc that got died by not solving what really happen to his character, they gave him a new role that gp will surely love and pity in the end. I'm really rooting for hak joo since he has a potential actor.

I just watched the first episode and it's not really what I expected from the trailers but it's fine. I hope that he's actually gay hehehehehe, already ship him with the other guy >3< The synopsis says that he has a secret so maybe it's his sexuality???
