Detective Kang Dong-Soo's (Rain) fiance is killed mysteriously. He works with a female detective (Lee Sun-Bin) who can see 3 days into the future. She sketches what she sees. They set out to capture the murderer. Kim Do-Jin (Lee Dong-Gun) is a former special forces member. His pregnant wife was killed and he plots revenge.

Hwang Jung-Eum was first offered the lead female role, but declined.

Kang So May Jul 09 2019 6:02 pm This is my perspective answer of question below (SPOILERS) 1. Prosecutor Yoo and Chief's Jang daughter is victim in seosu building. Prosecutor Yoo use his power to save 1 man, but unfortunately he is a perpretrator. So both of Prosecutor Yoo and Chief Jang think this power is to kill perpretrator to make amends prosecutor Yoo. 2. I cant find what happen to Choi's daughter, but i think she is save now since she is not needed anymore 3. Prosecutor Yoo is in jail, cmiiw. And his father kill after he know the secret of elder. 4. This is the interesting part of this drama, after Prosecutor Kang see the future that Det. Kang and Serg. Yoo reveal crime of 'elder' organization, he choose not to kill. So Det. Kang and Serg. Yoo now on investigation to reveal this organization. Writer let us to guess the storyline. 5. Nowadays we cannot separate people in good man group or bad man group. All the people have their own interest. Prosecutor Yoo is the man who want to eliminate the root of crime in korea even in bad ways. 6. Prosecutor Yoo let Jung Il kill Do Jin's wife because it need to encourage Do Jin to do their dirty jobs. Prosecutor Yoo know the future. He just follow it if he want Do Jin coorporate.

janni Jun 22 2019 11:39 pm This series is great. Story with all the twists and turns and cast are commendable. Just one thing tho.. I have nothing against Rain but he's a bit over acting. He makes little gestures that are a bit too much for the needed acting on certain sequences and scenes. I think, good acting is acting normal like in real life. Overall tho is great and hope for a sequel.

What happened to manager Choi's daughter after his death? 3. Why did the elder kill prosecutor Yoo and sergeant Yoo's father? 4. And in the end, what will happen to sergeant Yoo and detective Kang? Are they going to be killed by the elder too? 5. So, is prosecutor Yoo a good man or not? Because at first, i thought that he is a good prosecutor. But in the end, i wonder why he let Jung Il Soo kills Kim Do Jin's wife?

Sorry for my bad english, but please help me answer these questions. I really don't get it.

Q Jan 02 2019 12:22 pm This series was good. It never failed to intrigue me. I like how many plot twists it has especially halfway the series. There's never a dull moment and the casts are awesome. Lee Seung Joo did a great job as Prosecutor Yoo Shi Joon. I hope we get a sequel. We need season 2!

HCTEKS Dec 22 2018 10:22 am Completed watching this for the second time. Like the plot and casts. An interesting drama with different plot. Though Rain is a well recognized artist Sun Bin is a Rockie actress, but their chemistry, and her actions, proved she isn't a Rockie anymore. And the way the drama ended, there are lots of hints posting for a season 2. Hope casts wouldn't be changed, specially main leads. And want to see season 2 soon.

The casts are wonderful, love the excellent acting of Rain, Lee Dong Gun and all casts. Wish there would be a sequel two, I highly recommend this drama " Sketch ".

Ppps Sep 16 2018 12:55 pm Quite a suspenseful drama with a terrific ending....flawed but an otherwise enjoyable drama....a special mention about Lee Seung Jae whose introduction to the series looked nothing out of the ordinary but as the plot thickened this character became deliciously psychotic.....his villainous motives complemented by his manly charisma was just irresistible.....and his character was meatier and more complex than any other character in this series,as rightly pointed out by anondrama, even though the posters and promotional trailers do not suggest so.

His character is actually the most complex one in this drama. And for me, he does a good job here. I wish I can watch him in a new drama soon.

And LSB's acting, idk, I think her character doesn't do justice to her acting skill.

Sunday Jul 20 2018 2:34 pm The idea of foreseeing a death three days ahead was interesting, but I'm not sure if it was executed well. This drama could have been more interesting. I personally found this drama a bit bland and predictable. I love Rain and Lee Sun Bin, but their characters were just poorly written. Overall, the drama wasn't horrible, but it definitely isn't one of the best I have seen.

AJ Jul 15 2018 5:19 am Brilliant Series: Grim and gritty; thrilling action sequences, and not just wonderful Rain; at times shocking and heartbreaking. I’m pretty seasoned and don’t cry easily in movies and series. I have bawled during this one. Great cast, direction, cinematography, action, and themes. Perfect closure. This is one of the best series by any country and deserving of another season, which hopefully is suggested in the partially open ending.

The story was progressing really slowly and was pretty boring to watch in the first few episodes, but it finally got more intriguing and exciting starting from episode 5, so don't give up halfway and continue watching! Great plot twist though daebak totally didn't expect that in ep10 but i think the biggest plot twist will be when they reveal who's the "old man"...watch till the end if you wanna find out the real identity of him so curious to know omg

S Abyss Jul 03 2018 7:37 am This is a show worth watching. People might complain about the lack of romance but there are so many plot twists in this that you will be kept on an edge the whole time. I'm actually hoping that Shi Hyun and Shi Joon aren't blood siblings, though they probably are - then Shi Joon can be the normal guy so that Shi Hyun will stop getting into dangerous situations. Both of them, honestly, it keeps me up at night thinking of the problems they get themselves into, also their sibling love-line is the sweetest. Look at the way they look at each other, tender and conflicted all the same because their actions. I hope they get a good ending

jsmky Jun 28 2018 11:09 pm This drama had a promising start but had becoming extremely mundane since the first episode. The story is filled with loopholes and the acting of the leads left a lot to be desired (perhaps due to the poor direction and extremely poor writing).

The stupid 'I am smart' background music that plays every time one of the lead characters had a light bulb moment is cliched and very annoying.

On the verge of giving up on this one. See Life on Mars for an example as what this could have been with better writing and execution.

The best acting here going to Kim Do Jin, he's great at facial expression and action. And Yoi Shi Joon too, never watch him before, but he's good. That detective team? Well, they're not that good, doesn't impress me much.

I'll try to finish it cos I wanna know the ending. Action scene in this drama is very good.

I just don't understand why people keep complaining their acting. I see that they are amazing and they understand there characters very well. they are not overreacting or anything! this drama is amazing I like everything about it. even if sometimes I feel that some stories takes alot of time ,but when I think about it I think that it makes scene. This drama make me always excited about what is going to happened next. I can't really guess what is the end going to be (and that is what i really like the most!!). We are asking the producers and scriptwriters to put some clothes on him that actually fit. “Signal” and “Black” are 2 best examples of Korean detectives with normal wardrobes (PS: NO CEO SUITS) that have worked just fine. Anyway....... Is that the same church from “Bad Guys” season 1?

I'm loving the fight scenes and the mid level grittiness of the content. What I'm trying to understand is all of you who are complaining about Rain's wardrobe. Are you kidding me? He's playing a detective which by Korean dramas standards, seem as if they are not required to wear suits like American detectives are. If he was playing a CEO I would understand the complaints, as is I'm thinking you folks are totally disregarding his actual role and are projecting your personal lead male desires onto him.

longboy Jun 18 2018 9:21 am Plot Have been watching this drama from Ep 1. It starts strong until Ep 4. After that, this drama is SO slow. They told us about a case in 3-4 episodes when it can be done in only 1-2 episodes. The plot twist is great (no doubt), but yeah you must wait so long to finally get to see the twist.

Writing This is one of the biggest problems for me, this drama is full of long bullshit conversation that shouldn't be there in the very first place (which lead to slow plot). There are some "supposed to be cute or funny or touching" conversation that always turns me off. This conversation happens a lot to Si Hyun and Dong Soo (maybe plus the hacker girl). Usually, I love some side storyline. but in this drama is a big nah for me. Another minus point: you will see a lot of scene where Dong Soo talked alone for so long, meanwhile the other are just looking dumb.

Actors I give my thumb to the one who act as Kim Do jin and Tae Joon. Sorry to say, Rain is only good in action scene. While Si hyun (idk her name) is just big no no for me. I feel like her expression is exaggerating (maybe she is new, never seen her face before). Never watched Tae Joon before, but I like his acting. Meanwhile for Do jin, I saw his acting in Queen For Seven Day (which is SO AWESOME! Best one I ever watched in k drama), I think his acting is not as good as in 7DQ, but his acting is much better than the main 2 leads. If I must rate it from 0-10, then it will be: DS 5.5/10, SH 4/10, DJ 7.5/10, TJ 7.5/10 Whether I recommend to watch this drama: DEPEND on how this drama will be going on

But I dont know why their acting in this drama seems so dull, especially Lee Dong Gun crying for his dead wife in the morgue. It is very irritating. And when Rain is speaking, i cant handle to hear him speak like that. What happened to their acting skills? Big actors with horrible acting.

I wonder what’s wrong with the director or the script writer of this drama.

Mio26 Jun 10 2018 8:25 am @alvy and @momo both of you I recommend to watch drama "Live". In Korea gun ownership rank among the lowest in the world. The law is very strict for gun ownership, you can have gun mostly for hunting and sports. That's why policemen don't have to have a gun (if they don't want to) and they're allowed to use them only if there is no other option and of course their or others' lives are in grave danger. But after that there is always investigation so policemen in Korea are pretty afraid of using gun.

I already notice it from the very beginning of the episode ( where all the bad guy in the dock don't bring any gun, instead of just some steel ). But needless to say, the plot holes is still acceptable if you compare it with the other drama in the same genre. I personally think the plot holes caused by undetailed writing and the tight deadline they have. But overall this drama is promising. I like the act, the tone, the music scoring, and the plot they offered to us. They delivered the thriller genre prety well

Momo Jun 03 2018 12:00 am Some parts of the drama don’t make sense. When Dong-Soon and Shi-Hyun confronted the murderer that’s holding hostage of Ji Soo, why Shi-Hyun didn’t draw out her gun? Doesn’t she not have a gun? Instead of needlessly fighting with the killer and letting the killer escape. Only in subsequent fighting scenes then her gun appeared.

Also, in the latest ep 4, when II Soo’s brother was holding the policeman hostage, can’t Shi-Hyun shoot his shoulder or something instead of surrendering her gun to them? And why when Young Shim and Captain Moon knew that something was going to happen when transporting II Soo, couldn’t they contact the local police and deploy some manpower?

Seems like some parts don’t make sense.

Neutralisment May 27 2018 11:05 am I would like to leave my review of this drama. I hope that my review can be used as a consideration to others who wanted to watch this drama.

Please be reminded that this review will contain spoilers.

The tone of this drama reminds me of Signal, in which there will be slightly light tone inside a very dark tone scene. This drama isn't for the people who seeks romance comedy or typical fantasy as a genre. Yes, this drama is also a fantasy of some sort, since the female lead has a 'superpower'.

This drama teaches us about how lives go on every day. The term 'Principle of Causality' will be the theme of this drama. Basically, it means that everything happens for a reason, and this ties with the female lead's ability and her decision to use it for good... or is it? The moment she decided to prevent the crimes that she sketched was the moment she created a reason that caused an event in the future to happen.

Let me give an example from the recently released episodes. The female lead (Lee Sun-bin) predicted a possible future through a sketch in which Rain will hug her dead fiancée, and included in the sketch was the detail of a ring that Rain's fiancée wore during her death. The whole episode is dedicated for the purpose of preventing the death of the fiancée, but it all ends in vain, since she ended up dying.

Now, let me ask you. Rain and Lee Sun-bin already knew that the fiancée has a possibility of dying, according to the sketch. So, who's at fault here? Is it the killer? Or is it Rain for not taking care of his fiancée carefully? Or is it Lee Sun-bin's fault for 'hinting' Rain about the possible future? If Lee Sun-bin had decided to just keep the information for herself, nobody would blame themselves, and would just blame the killer for the fiancée's death. But, Lee Sun-bin believed that with her telling Rain of all this event, she hoped that the death can be prevented.

This is what this drama meant by Principle of Causality. We don't know who's at fault, since everyone has their own share of involvement in this case. You might have your own opinion on the paragraph I wrote before this paragraph, because I do. This is what makes this drama interesting, because it accounts for everyone's decision in order to create a possible 'future'.

Finally, my ratings. (REMEMBER: This rating is only up to the 2nd episode) It's 8/10. Nothing's perfect in this world, so 10/10 is out of the question. But, why not 9/10? Because of the tone and how the story unfolds.

1. Most drama started with the lead already experiencing the pain, or either slowly meeting the cause of this whole story that will lead up to the main conflict. But this drama introduced us to a brief fun moment, only to give the viewers (I, especially) a pain after the fun for half an episode. The tempo of tone-changing is too fast for me to accept.

2. So far, I still cannot feel the usefulness of Lee Sun-bin's ability. Maybe it's due to her not able to do this alone. Maybe Rain will fully cooperate with her in the future episodes? Who knows? I will leave a similar review next week about next week's episodes.

Having watched heaps and loads of Korean movies, I have not ever seen such terrible acting. His crying scene at the morgue is not only lack of depth but it's essentially frustrating to watch. Argh!
