Members of the special investigation team have dispersed after their team was disbanded. No one knows Yu Amagi’s (Noriyuki Higashiyama) whereabouts or what he does.

A gang member named Ogata is found dead on a mountain. A paper and picture are found among his belongings. The paper contains writing that states "I know your crime." The picture is of a drug deal. Another murder case then takes place. A piece of paper that also states "I know your crime" is found among the victim's belongings. Due to the serial murder case, Yu Amagi, Yoshiki Ebisawa (Seiichi Tanabe), Tamaki Mizuta (Kana Kurashina), Takumi Nonomura (Jin Shirasu), Arata Aoyama (Takashi Tsukamoto), Masatoshi Katagiri (Kotaro Yoshida) and Shuntaro Domoto (Kinya Kitaoji) begin to gather again.

Grandmalee Nov 03 2021 8:27 pm I don't recall from last season that the team was dissolved, so the first episode makes a weak and arbitrary attempt to bring the members already scattered in different sections of the PD back together. It is a pale imitation of what happened in "7 Samurai" or the Hollywood version, "The Magnificent Seven." The stories are generally so-so. The best is the one in episode 6 that involves a released prisoner and a blind girl. Both the acting and plot are quite effective and convincing. The tease at the end suggests that the group is dissolved again, but who knows, TV magic could revive anything for a new season, which according to the hints given in the dialog, is not likely to happen. If so, I won't particularly miss the series, though I wish that the characters played by Kana Kurashina and Takashi Tsukamoto had had a chance to turn their relationship into an intimate one.
