Plot

An odd woman named Sayoko (Mikako Ichikawa) rents cats to lonely people. Some of the renters include an old woman who lost her husband and her cat, a middle-aged man who moved away from his family for work, a woman at a reception desk who questions her existence and a man who has a connection with Sayoko.

It is one of the most enjoyable and uplifting films I've seen in years. Where can I purchase a copy of this film so that I can see it again and also share it with my friends.

Ozmo Oct 10 2013 6:58 pm I love this film. The more times I see it, the more I get out of it. It's a peaceful yet intriguing film. The characters are wonderful, all having a hole in their lives to fill. Mikako is just brilliant. Thanks to Naoko Ogigami for writing and directing this moving, quirky, and great film.

Laura M. Aug 11 2012 9:26 pm I saw this movie on an ANA flight today from NRT-ORD, subtitled in English. It was definitely a cut above the two other movies I watched in flight (Mamma Mia! and The Lorax). This is the first Japanese movie I've watched, but I was quite favorably impressed.
