Moon Nov 02 2021 11:36 am Everyone is saying the picture Miho sent proves she's alive so Kumi and Kage at the end are still alive but what if - Miho did drown. She's been watching over the girls being trapped and waiting for all of them to die, and the end scene is them waiting until all 11 of them have died, and the train and the scene at the beach means they're passing on. Miho meets them there like she would meet them in the afterlife. However, only Kumi and Kage receive the picture, so I wonder why she would tell the two closest to her like that, when the other 9 will meet her at the beach anyway. Sure, they think it means she's alive, and it would be hard to send them a picture if she's dead.

But what if everyone is already dead when they wake up in the room? Maybe even the teacher died in prison, otherwise did he escape or did they bail him out or something? And it doesn't even have to mean they all died when they think they were knocked out and taken to the room. The show Lost for example, shows all the main characters reuniting in the afterlife even though they didn't all die together, and a lot of them probably made it to old age. This could be that any unresolved issues from your life, you get a chance to get everything out in the open with everyone involved, and you get the appearance and the memories you had up to that point. That would explain the diploma - they do graduate, and die much later. Or, they could've somehow all died on the same day and the diploma is posthumous. Kage, not having had the experience of having a sister, as she found out after Miho went missing, could believe she's orchestrating this as revenge, and finding out her applying to the same college was the last straw for the rest of the students to start bullying Miho is a very low blow that makes the confidence she had throughout the show crumble.

Once all secrets are out and everyone has apologized, the ship crashes (the ship itself could just be because they'll get together on a beach and because that's what's in Miho's picture - because she drowned) and we see the train platform; everyone's there. Would also explain how a dead Miho could send them the picture, and going back to the picture being useless, maybe she just wanted to give the last two a sort of sneak peek, let them know they'll meet soon, though they interpreted it as her being alive because they think she's alive. Kage at the end could realize they're actually dead, and the last second of the crash actually reminded (lol) me of the end of a movie film, the end of something that's already recorded/happened aka memories, aka them looking young again if they died when they were older (was Kage remembering the Re:Wind episode too, and that's why she talks like that in the last minute?). Miho could've sent the picture just to Kage, who's in the frame on the window, and could've checked her phone while waiting for the ship to sink, as she expected. I think sending it to Kumi just in case she was the last one, or knowing she would be the last one, to ensure she would show Kage could be possible too, but again they wouldn't need to see the picture before going to the beach. Maybe she thought if Kage realized she was dead and Miho too, she would get on the train, otherwise she would choose to go alone thinking the other 10 would hate her as Kumi would tell them Kage kidnapped them.

I think this purgatory theory would also explain, as someone did mention, how she managed to think about all of this and collect so many objects - some related to things she didn't know about, how she would get 10 girls on a ship and the teacher out of prison (sure, maybe she hired people to do it but maybe Someone would notice at least one of them being carried into a car or something), the whole vanishing not disturbing the locks thing, the room going dark despite the candles, the spotty wifi (unless they occassionally sailed close to a port), the mice and frogs that appeared and disappeared out of nowhere, the teacher vanishing through the floor while standing on a random 'unexpected' spot, the temperature changes that could symbolize getting close to a metaphorical hell (or yeah, just Kage setting something on fire, maybe to explode at the end).

Though!! If Miho is alive and the rest are too while on the ship, she could've sent the picture to her best friend and sister after she thought they would all have graduated, and it would be harder for the rest to find out and she could meet Kumi and Kage in peace. Lots of maybes. Anyway, this show got me into the group back then and I'm revisiting now. Thought maybe knowing the girls now, I could figure out a little more, but nope, they never explained it themselves either as far as I know. Also! The story I Guess Everything Reminds You of Something (pretty autobiographical, as the author disapproved of his son crossdressing) is about a man finding that his son's awarded book was copied verbatim from an existing story (I saw a reviewer say "In society, many people act fake but we know that the truth will come out." Also, the title of the story is said by the son when the father tells him his book reminds him of another one) and stops seeing him as a good son, he also reminisces in flashbacks (!) that they used to practice shooting together (Kage says in the blue (referencing them having drowned?) retrospective that hunting was Miho's dad's hobby). This could just be a reference to how the creator of this drama had actually made a first version in 2011, with Western actors.

Also, if anyone sees this and can fix the details at the top of this page, Neru Nagahama left Hiragana Keyakizaka46 to be fully part of Kanji Keyaki, and was replaced by Miho Watanabe from the second Hiragana generation (the other 8 members appear in the Re:Wind episode, the 13th and last).

軽快な Sep 28 2021 6:23 am had a very interesting premises but was executed poorly. there was a lot of plot holes that i was hoping would get resolved in a possibles season 2 but i’m assuming bc of budget or others issues, it wasn’t able to come to fruition. the special episode was rly sweet though and executes pettiness and friendship well, i also loved the 2 girls who were dating, very sweet! i feel like if things were more fleshed out then maybe this show would’ve been better, not a complete waste of time but it’s definitelys not for everyone .. (sorry for errors, english is not my first language ..)

They didn’t give much background which made it even harder to understand and adding to that the acting was just horrible. Like if you’re going to make a show Atleast get some good actors and a better storyline/view otherwise the money you spent making the show would just go to waste you know?

Ria Jan 11 2021 1:39 pm What bothers me the most is the most logical - to me - question since ep. 2 , they all had phones , why did they not turn on their flashlights to at least see how each one disappeared? They knew when this was about to happen each time. Would give a hint i guess to figure that out.

The series just annoyed me from start to finish.

Naria Jan 11 2021 4:44 am Amazing drama but the ending was disappointing and not as dark as I had initially hoped. It ended up being anticlimatox instead. All of that build up only for them to all walk freely..Would've had a bigger shock factor if all of the girls were actually sent under water and drowned and it was all for nothing because the girl never did die. Then again there are different perspectives and nothing is completely confirmed so I'll simply just convince myself that they're all actually dead haha that sounds morbod re reading that statement

Renee Mar 05 2020 3:33 pm I loved it, even though I do have so many questions that I would love the answer to! -How was Kage able to build all of this without being caught? Where is the room located? Where did everyone go after they were "vanished"? Who was helping? How did everyone vanish so quickly without being seen? What is the reaction of everyone in their lives after this happens? How does Miho cope with this?- I am assuming that the ending of ep12 means that everyone is dead and the beach scene is not real. Even though I have so many questions..../so many!!/....I still really enjoyed this. I would love another season (or just half) to cover the fallout of this, or just Kage's side of it.

To me it was obvious they all died when the ship sank/exploded, and the happy scene at the beach at the end didn’t really happen; it was a dream or a fantasy of how it could have been, or it should have been, had they never ended up kidnapped in that room. I also like what someone wrote about them already being dead to begin with, and what we get to see is some sort of purgatory, with the happy beach scene at the end being heaven.

Mia Mar 08 2018 10:06 pm Miho was taken away for 3 months because she couldn’t deal with her friends anymore, and I believe she must of gone away for ‘therapy’ and that’s why in the end they were able to graduate again and that miho was walking (because she got the treatment). I believe that in the end, when the lights turned off, that the girls were pulled into separate compartments underneath the floor because we couldn’t hear them. Kage would’ve been pulled away to her own compartment where someone on the ship helped her with everything else. There must of been other people on the boat helping her, who was watching? who turned the lights on? who turned the contraptions for the girls to fall? who opened the doors to the boat automatically? It couldn’t have been Kage and the teacher.

The story begins with very bad acting from all of them, but it's only 20minutes something per episode so why not. This story was not well written and acted, then I realize they promoting that girl group. There are so many holes in the story, indicates that even the writer and director doesn't really care about the story. It also not that bad, that I can finish the entire 13 episodes. So because the series is poorly written and doesn't satisfy anyone , let's make some theory to make this one more interesting.

------SPOILER------- Do Not read it if you want to watch the serie

There are too many mistakes to count. Like when they wake up first, they just sit still,and no one really realizes that they got chained. Actually, Kage already showing her role in the 2nd episode, she was so surprised that everyone that drunk the water got sick "uso! Nande?" ,because she doesn't do anything to the water and food, but no one realizes that (me too). I know she is the culprit in ep.4, what else the reason that she help the teacher to not getting stab, it's too obvious, but because then she disappears for the rest of series (except the last episode) we have forgotten about her.

Another obvious flaw is about the candle. There is lighting candle, how can the room being pitch black? another unanswered question how is the girl disappear? there are also time when they are holding hand so tightly.

THEORIES::

-How they get there? Kage paid some people to kidnap them. (in ep.1 there is girls who got kidnapped by foreigners,but it's vary) She has money from her father.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Where are they? In ship / Yacht.. or are they? (another theory is coming) -Why? Kage is getting crazy because of her guilty feelings neglecting and bullies her own sister and it leads to her disapperance and then death (she believes so, because she's been searching for her for months . -What happened to the ship? Kage destroys it. At first nothing really happened, then after kage left, the ship starts sinking (the girl start disappear with water below them). And after awhile she starts the fire (there is the time she was above them and spilled the oil, someone says she saw a person above them) -Are they all dead? yes, when the ship blown out, it was the end of records. -Is Miho dead? Could be. but I do believe she is the one who sends them the photo. She saw someone post something in perfect account, and she realizes that is her sister doing. -Is she just gone or she is maestro behind all this? It depends, you want her to be angel or devil. ANGEL: she got upset that her friend changes so much, and she knows that also partly her fault that she is being mean to them all the time. That's why she disappears, to get everything straight again,she's been miserable after her best friend died. And because she realizes something happened to her friends, she sends the photo to proof she is alive and fine. DEVIL : She is maestro behind all of this. She got crazy after her best friend death and it appears her boyfriend is to blame. She just being a teenager who hates everyone and blames everybody. Because she lost best friend who is very fond of justice,she's looking that character in her 11 bf. That's why she pretends to fall and then got into a wheelchair,but sadly everyone bullies her even more. So she fake her own death, to trigger her sister doing stupid things, and kage did. Miho plot everything and everything just like she wants it. In the end, she sends them (the last 2 person) photo to proof that she is still alive,only to torture her sister and says thanks that she killed everyone for her. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Where are they? In Facilities of Miho's father. They got kidnapped to facilities (that's why foreign people is include), put to sleep and brings them to another reality (kind of mirai nikki live action) -Why? Her father wants to know what really happened to Miho. Or even Miho just want to get revenge to their friends,because they are being bullies. -How are they disappears? They are being awakened to the reality, that's why its just disappear.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another Reality

They all died and have another reality to satisfy them self. Like in ep.11, everyone being truly honest about what they did and what they are truly thinking and hopes. It only happens after their death. That's also they just said 'Next time..' 'I will...' etc , because they can't fix it in this life, they hope in next life they can re-do everything . Ep.12 They make that the frightening night never happens. They graduated and still being best friend (like they wish to). They make a trip without miho, because everyone just truly hates miho and fine with her disappearance or because Miho is indeed alive that makes her unable to join them in 'heaven'. This couldn't be reality because they are being distanced towards each other. There is no chance they want to spend their last day in high school together.

Olivia Feb 25 2018 7:17 pm Ok just finished this. I think there is a lot of symbolism going on and not so much literal happenings. A couple theories: they are in purgatory perhaps kage had murdered them all together and they are apologizing for their sins as a final act. Perhaps Meiri knew this as you could almost see her figuring it out. But that wouldnt make sense for the photo that was sent at the end. The room getting hotter was because it was at the end where the people left...one of them was refusing to apologize therefore hell was among her/them.

The other is that it is an actual boat and the symbolism was in the room where it was blue and they were actually being dumped in the ocean. Although it all seems too magical to be a real boat so I have a feeling it was meant to be symbolizing of a boat to hell of somesort. Not sure if anyone has seen hellgirl but hellgirl takes people in a boat to hell. And those that were able to atone for their sins were released before the boat got to hell.

It seems kind of mad seeing how bullying would send someone to hell but who knows.

kat Feb 25 2018 1:55 pm I actually really enjoyed the show though I do admit it wasn't the most thought out in some aspects. I'm still confused on how the teacher disapeared.. did she activate a floorboard to fall or something? They did say he sunk thorugh the floor, which i assume they are also doing based on the things their feet are in. I bet they just activated so they would split and come apart, releasing both their feet and letting the girls fall. Still doesn't explain how the locks stayed locked though.. Also, we know they are on a ship, but that doesn't really explain the light at the end or how they kept saying it got hot or that the temperature dropped and things like that. There must be some explanation to these things but I can't really think of any. I love the shots though in this show and how each character is given depth and all secrets are revealed. Plus, too the people complaining about how some things aren't realistic enough, and how nobody would do all that just because of some bullying, not every show has to be completely realistic. It would just be boring, honestly. Also, insane people (Kage seemed to be driven to insanity based on everything she was exposed to) they may even go to that point just because. I was entertained by it all and their conversations seemed realistic enough to me since actual conversations in those situations would'nt get straight to the point. I was also impressed by the way they kept us entertained even though the show only consisted of them sitting in the same room, with some short flashbacks here and there. All in all I really liked the show but I would like to have a bit more explanation on what happened in the end.

John Feb 25 2018 5:11 am From what I saw I deduce the following: 1) They are on a ship, but not a yacht. 2) The way they are "vanished" is nonsensical. The whole time I was wondering "how are they disappearing with the locks still on?". When at the end the girls were holding hands and one still "vanished" I realized there was no logical way for this to happen. I assume they are somehow sucked out the hole their feet are in and the block/lock are magically put back in place. 3) The girls are either all dead or all alive, but I cant figure out which. I think the intent of Kage was to ram the ship into a lighthouse or a rock cliff after all the girls were gone but the last. Either she dropped them out the bottom (which is why you see water coming up at the end) or dropped them into a cargo hold until they rammed. What I cannot figure out is if the light at the end is supposed to be realistic or symbolic. If it is realistic then it is indicative that they were about to ram the rocks and die. If they were using the light to symbolize her coming to her senses then she might have stopped the boat and freed the girls. 4) The reason I lean towards them being alive: after the crash everyone is talking about the train/sparklers scene. I agree. This is likely not a memory, but a flash-forward. If you watch the additional episode you see that the power outage that killed Miho's friend was actually during the time they took the picture and inducted Kage into Perfect. This was the point when Miho started going nuts, became crippled and depressed. Miho and her friend would not have gone out and had a beach party so soon after their friend dying. If this is true then the girls all lived and (somehow) are all friends again. But that is completely insane. No one can just forgive another for all that torment and intention to kill. 5) I cannot find anywhere online what the authors intent was and it is killing me (not literally folks). After watching 13 episodes I would like closure to know if this ended in tragedy or if it had a weird happy ending. Although I think this was really well written and covered many of the normal WTF questions of modern movies, the ending is just horrible. If anyone can find an answer to whether they lived or died I would appreciate it.

Mars Feb 24 2018 3:15 am It was downright silly. For two Major reasons...

1) How could one girl orchestrate all of this in the 48 (at most) hours Miho was missing? She collected all those objects in the room to remind them of secrets she herself didnt even know yet? How could she even afford it? I doubt her father gave her the thousands if not hundreds of thousands to create a room with holes in the floor to bind someone's feet and make them disappear at will, the drugs and manpower to tranquilize and kidnap 12 girls and one grown man, and buy the money and time to buy rats, mice, frogs, sludge, taxidermy, artwork, books, and food to freak everyone out with. Makes no sense. The Flash couldn't move that fast and she'd have to be a super genius to devise a plan that intricate in that short amount of time.

2) The punishment doesn't match the crime at all. None of the girls did anything abnormally terrible to Miho besides making fall her down the stairs. The one chick who's stalking Miho's boyfriend was so scared to confess that she was willing to die and potentially kill all of her friends to keep that secret? And then the secret worse then that was that the other friend was currently dating Miho's ex-fiance behind her back? WHOA. BiG. ShoCK. Here I thought the girls raped and kidnapped Miho and sold her off to to be sex trafficked and tortured for fun in some foreign country. I thought they burned down her home and killed her pregnant mother in the process. Nope. They stole Miho's man and so they deserved to be kidnapped and mentally and emotionally tortured for hours. Hell, what they did to the teacher was worse than majority of what they did to Miho. Bullying is wrong, lying and framing people is terrible, but Kidnapping, drugging, and torturing is worse. Way worse.

Martin Feb 23 2018 7:52 am I really liked it. I saw the whole thing in one sitting. Still have no idea how they vanished when the room got dark. Can anyone explain? I do believe they were on a ship. As a former sailor something just gave me that impression. And yes. It is fairly easy to steal an old ship, so Kage could have done it.

ZERO Feb 23 2018 7:28 am Megb your theory might be right but I don't think Meiri was part of it because she died also and that wouldn't make sense and also she only made others remember is because she's trying to survive . and one other thing guys miho is not dead because she sends a picture that basically says she's alive and then if you look at the intro there are 11 girls but when the chairs show up theres 12 and I have reason to believe that she was part of it because when miho supposedly fell on the stairs she did it on purpose because she wanted to see if they would bully her so then miho faked her death because she knew that kgae (miho's sister) would want to take revenge for her to kill them for bullying her. and you might be asking " But why would miho kill her sister"? well is because kage sent an application to the university where miho wanted to go. and then kage is sorry and she realized that she played right into her sisters plan. and the diploma's in the end...... yeah thats fake because they die and like it says right at that moment that is fiction. basically saying that its an ending that we would like but its false.....

It started to get hot after the teacher left right and the only ppl in the room were at the engagement party for miho. I still believe that Meiri had something to do with it, but she didn't want to make herself obvious. When water started coming up they were being dumped into the ocean, my guess. In other words they were released because they all had admitted their sins. Kage was crazy jealous of miho, and I definitely believe that she was the one that pushed miho down the stairs. As for the boat they are on, it's their dads boat. Everything in there reminds them of miho who was known as the only child until recently.

That got me confuse because she is walking. But maybe she get recovered, just like that girl that could talk again, Sarina. And Sarina saw Mihos wheelchair alone and we know she didn't died. So my guess is they scape, because they graduate and they were with Miho that was alive

muna Feb 19 2018 10:04 pm i don't think they died because you see there graduating diplomas in the end of episode 12. also, they were near the beach when they were holding those firecracker thingies and they were obviously on water when they were captured. i think they escaped and the ending song is supposed to symbolize it.

I saw someone speaking about a missile. I don't think it was a missile. The room was very very hot in the last episodes so I think something in the ship itself was blowing up. Kage knew something was coming. I think she set something on fire or something to make something blow up.

Alyssa Feb 19 2018 12:07 am I think they all died.......Kage said the rest of the girls were fine for now.......it looked like they were all in a separate “dinning room” while they were all giving their heartfelt apologies. The room was all blue during that scene so maybe they were in a room on a lower deck of the ship. During that scene Kumi and Kage aren’t there so maybe they were in the “original room”......They also mentioned at one point that Mihos dad owns a yacht......and Kage admits that Mihos dad helped and gave her money, so either they are on his yacht or she was able to buy one and trick it out with the teachers help. The end of that episode, all of the girls are boarding a train at sunset and end up on the beach. The sun eventually sets and they light sparklers.......seems like a passing on scene and the only person who isn’t present in that scene is Miho because she’s alive.

Also wild theory, maybe Miho orchestrated the whole thing. I mean they kept mentioning it looked like she fell down the stairs on her own and that it was surprising that a toy frog scared her so much....maybe she faked being paralyzed? Then she wouldn’t need the wheelchair and that’s why she left it at the pier. If not.......she still could have faked her death in order to prompt Kage to take revenge. Because why would she send that text of the window picture right as they are all being mentally tortured and threatened? It’s almost as if to say “what goes around comes around” and they all drown like they thought she did.........however there are some holes in that theory.....she would have needed a sure way that Kage found out about them being sisters and Kage says her dad told her, Miho and her dad were going through a rocky time in their relationship so I’m not sure how she could count on him to tell her for sure. Also I’m not sure how she could know for sure Kage would take revenge to the extreme like that.....SO it’s not a perfect theory but a thrilling idea!

Mia Feb 17 2018 8:14 pm I am trying to figure out what happened too. Spoilers for those who haven't watched to at least episode 12. Kage said at the end that she wanted Kumi to remember Miho til the end. They'll sink together. Then they show Kage and a beam of light on her. The light gets bigger and brighter as it gets closer and then you hear a boom. The ship/camera shakes. The end. Wth happened? I assumed it was a missile bc that's how it sounded. But I thought how could she get a missile? Then again, how would she get a ship? She seemed to know ahead of time the ship would sink but it seems not from natural causes in the end. If it turns out they're alive then it makes as much sense as the ending. What was the boom if they're alive? And unless they're show them holding the graduation certificate I don't think that proves anything. It could be posthumous. I enjoyed it but I wish they'd at least shown what happened to everyone in the end, how'd they disappear, how she pulled this off, etc. I had way too many questions. Still, more like this please. I did like the feel of it.

It had such promise but it answered none of my questions. I sat there for 6 hours of nonsense?!

Kris Feb 15 2018 12:40 pm They surely just wanted to promote the group. I don't know whether the series was written for promotion or they were cast for promotion. Their opening song is not half bad. The acting on the other hand was atrocious. They should have given them smaller roles in some love dramas or school dramas. They still need a lot of experience, but in smaller roles so their mistakes won't be noticed. Somewhat of a thriller is too hard for starting up as an actor. Lighter roles would be more beneficial.
