Uhm Bok-Dong was a cyclist in Korea during the Japanese colonial era. He competed against Japanese cyclists and won. He became a hero to the people in Korea.

Notes

Based on the true story of bicyclist Uhm Bok-Dong (1892-1951).
Kang So-Ra, Min Hyo-Rin and Park Jin-Joo previously appeared together in 2011 film “Sunny.”
Filming began April 18, 2017 and finished September 29, 2017.

Norik BC Apr 04 2023 11:08 pm I really don’t understand the nit picking critics of this significantly patriotic and dramatic movie , that was remarkably portrayed by the talented cast, specially by my all time favorite idol , Rain .

 Scenery and costumes were outstanding alongside,  the directing and the storyline , bravo to all .Thank you prime video for presenting it.

Eileen Oct 09 2021 10:43 pm I really enjoyed this film. This film has been criticized because the writers created a story with the few facts they were given. Very few films are totally true. There was a newspaper article from the 50’s that said he tried to steal a bicycle and he died a few years later. To me this was one of the saddest epitaphs. It said he was living in poverty. What the reader doesn’t know the circumstances. Was he deserted by his country? Was he mentally capable? Was he starving? Did he have early onset dementia? We don’t know what triggered this incident. Kudos to the writers and the production team that created a hero.
