Gota Nakaido (Kenta Kiritani) is a detective and works at the Minatomirai Police Station in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. After graduating from a university, Gota Nakaido worked as a high school PE teacher for 8 years. He quit his teaching job due to his desire to stomp out the bad people who leads students astray. As a detective, Gota Nakaido cares about getting a promotion, but it's not easy for him because he is not very good at studying. He is most enthusiastic about catching criminals and more than anything else, he is happiest when victims thank him for catching criminals.
