Han Yi-Joo (Jung Yoo-Min) is a painter. She was adopted by Han Jin-Woong and Lee Jung-Hye (Lee Min-Young). Her father runs Hanwool Financial Group. Yet, Han Yi-Joo was not loved by her parents or her younger sister Han Yoo-Ra (Jin Ji-Hee). She was always isolated from her family. Now, Han Yi-Joo is married to Jung Se-Hyeok. She learns that her husband Jung Se-Hyeok loves her sister Han Yoo-Ra and not her. On that same day, Han Yi-Joo gets into a car accident and dies.

When Han Yi-Joo wakes up, she finds herself back in time when she was engaged to Jung Se-Hyeok. To change her fate and take revenge on her family, she breaks off her engagement to Jung Se-Hyeok. She then approaches Seo Do-Guk (Sung Hoon), whom her younger sister Han Yoo-Ra wants to marry. Seo Do-Guk is the grandson of the Taeja Group’s founder. He is a smart and handsome young man. Han Yi-Joo wants to enter into a contract marriage with Seo Do-Guk and he willingly accepts, but he wants the contract marriage to become a real marriage.

On 120th Kdrama Nov 27 2023 9:47 am When I first watched its teaser, I didn't hesitate to put it to my kdrama watchlist. Why? Because Sung Hoon is here. But all throughout the series, I didn't notice that I am loving everything Jung Yoo-min showcases. Her beauty's typical but not tiring. She reminds me of Kathryn Bernardo, and I always find myself adoring her. Plus her acting... WOW! Superb! Who would have thought that the gullible and credulous Han Yu-rang in "Celebrity" can EXCELLENTLY portray a protagonist role? I hope she'll have more projects to come. I'll be rooting for her.

I just can't believe how underrated this drama is. It may be quite typical for a revenge drama but at least it's not dragged. I love how every episode ends with the villains always finding their rightful places and not being reminded that they would never win. I love everything here, and I don't regret waiting for this drama to be aired. I just hope Yi-joo and Do-guk will have their "happy-ever-after TOGETHER" <3

I had no interest in watching this based on the synopsis, but after My Dearest ended, I just started idly watching the first episode of Perfect Marriage Revenge, and then I got hooked. The quality of the actors' performances is really good, and some of my longtime favourite kdrama stars are in this. Loving that it pits all kinds of characters against each other to see who can be the most devious and clever. Will be watching until the very end!

At first, I was annoyed that she did not immediately become a bad a**, especially in the picnic scene with Sung Hoon, because I thought: He fell for you because of your sass and your first-night together, you got drunk and whiny and at the picnic more whiny-ness. But yes, she is on a journey to self-worth, and she's only at the start of it.

Cathy Khan Nov 08 2023 2:48 am What an intriguing and well thought out story. The actors were so well cast, and the storyline beckons the viewer to unravel the complexities of relationships. I have read other comments that question why the female lead has not shed the baggage of her abusive childhood. In reality, after a person has been saturated with critical statements, that person will constantly question if the abusive statements are true and find it difficult to think otherwise. The script reflects the difficulty of discovering self-worth when an entire lifetime was spent being told that one is inferior. An immediate turn of confidence would not be authentic. I appreciate that the writers are allowing glimpses into their insecurities. This show warrants higher viewership. Just a thought...

In this drama (Perfect Marriage Revenge), I am curious about the true identity of Han Yi-Joo, as her adoptive grandfather feels sorry for the treatment Han Yi-Joo received from her adoptive parents, especially her adoptive mother and adopted sister.

I think the male lead (Seo Do-Kook) did not push his step-brother (Seo Jung-Wook) in that accident.

Any reason that the female lead (Han Yi-Joo) still allows her insincere boyfriend( Yoo Se-Hyeok) to take her luggage and accompany her to her new place (Seo Do-Kook's house) in this 'back in time' storyline as she knew he was not sincere/a 'villain'? Therefore, in my view, in this 'back in time', the character of Han Yi-Joo should be more assertive, firm, strong, and not give in easily.

Other than the betrayal scenes in this drama (which imo were better than the webtoon) almost all the lines were dialogues from the webtoon. Especially the HYJ x SDG moments. But they did add their own flair to that as well with HYJ telling him he is not her style and they changed HYJ's disorder story a little as well.

And (maybe) SPOILER,

The Webtoon shows that yes SDG loved HYJ before the time travel and that he also got transported to the past

Babybest Nov 01 2023 4:31 pm @Aditi I think SDG love HYJ from the beginning cos when she came to meet him for the first time, how SDG called HYJ name surprised her and he has to cover up by saying he supposed to know her name because she's from the family he will marry from.

Second reason: when HYJ fell asleep in his hands in the hotel room, he was looking at her as someone he has been in love with.

Third:before the accident, in the gallery, when HYJ was trying to clean the stain on the family portrait, SDG walked up to her and explain the meaning behind the portrait and she was shock. It was as if he has eyes for her but she doesn't see anyone except for her husband. And he was kind of upset that she failed to see what's in front of her between her sister and husband. So the hints has been there that SDG love HYJ from the start. And then opportunity present itself so he graped it. Interesting drama but the rating is very poor.

Aditi Oct 31 2023 1:48 am Ok. So I have watched many chinese short dramas with this plot line. But I must admit the casting for the drama and the chemistry between the leads is too good here. But I have a weird thought, and this may not conform with the plot of the webtoon. I think Seo Do Guk also remembers the past. I feel like he accepted Yi Joo's proposal too fast. Of course, if this is meant to be a 16-episode drama then this may just be edited to fit the plot into the episode count. But even then I feel like he either remembers something or has some inkling about their past experience. Especially because he doesn't even question the weird things she said when she got drunk. I'm also curious about what the father said to Yi Joo on the phone before she died and why they adopted her in the first place when they had their own child whom they adored so much. Was adopting her just so they have an extra pawn for a future business marriage.

MR Oct 30 2023 9:16 pm I read the Webtoon and it was really good; I watched the 2 episodes and it was really good, I am not sure if the 12 episodes will be enough to tell the story, because there a few tie ins that connect this altogether and it was interesting what unfolded. The short episode dramas are better than the 100 episodes, because the villain is running amok for most of the series

The female lead is perfect too. This is my first time seeing Yoo min and she killed it. I also love how instead of just going the same way the webtoon did , they added more layers to how Yi Joo is betrayed. Makes more sense of her revenge story. It's perfect for me! Love it
