Tsutomu Muso (Ken Matsudaira) is a 65-year-old retiree. He doesn't have much to do at home. Unlike Tsutomu Muso, his wife Sachiko (Miyoko Asada) is busy with activities and meeting her friends.

Tsutomu Muso’s daughter Miyako (Sei Matobu) and his granddaughter Yurina begin to live with them after Miyako divorces. Yurina is in the first grade of elementary school. Tsutomu Muso takes care of Yurina while Miyako is busy with work. Tsutomu Muso then becomes the Vice-President of the PTA at his granddaughter's elementary school.
