Kahoko Nemoto (Mitsuki Takahata) is a naive 21-year-old university student. She relies on her mother, Izumi (Hitomi Kuroki), for everything in her life. Her mother wakes her up everyday, picks up her clothes, while Kahoko Nemoto has never done housework or driven a car. One day, Kahoko Nemoto meets a young man who grew up in a completely opposite environment.

Crystal Nov 03 2021 9:10 am I have to say Takahata Mitsuki did a really great job portraying Kahoko.. Even her eyes could tell what's going on inside Kahoko's head.. and it's very funny to see her interacting with Mugino kun.. and papa's self monologue is very funny too LOL

kooip Jun 10 2018 2:09 am lighthearted family, romance drama. they do tackle some harsher life aspects, but not in a really dramatic, frustrating way. ppl keep saying the main girl is annoying, and yeah she is really really naive and too optimistic, but the actress, Mitsuki Takahata, is sooooooo cute I don't even mind. Ryoma Takeuchi is really handsome, and his emotional scenes were good ;_;. I know it's not important but he only has like 3 outfits, and they're all black I couldn't tell the difference at first lol. Fitting though, since he's supposed to be poor. It's not a perfect drama, I mean there's only so much you can handle in 10 episodes with that many characters, and the ending seemed rushed, but overall it was a nice and cute drama :) Really enjoyable, I'd recommend.

syd May 24 2018 8:17 am the drama started as "annoying" for me but after a while, the story gets better and Kahoko's character development is enjoyable to see. it's an enjoyable light family drama, with romance of course. Mugino's character was mature but childish in a way, he made my heart flutter and shrunk in some scenes, loved his character!

MyRa Feb 12 2018 9:49 am Its been a while i have watched a really good japanese drama after A Restaurant With Many Problems and From 5 to 9..i thought this drama didnt have romance and it will focus only family problems and guess what the chemistery between the main character are so cute..the crying scenes between them are the most cute and funny at the same time..haha..the character development really growing after each chapter..really2 recommended for the one that want to enjoy good romance and want to appreciate love from family

Drama-wise, it's surreal but it reflects reality in a humorous way. watching this makes me think & realize many things: marriage, orphanage, people personality

Acting-wise, Mitsuki Takahata did great job as always. I've only watched her with cool/hardcore role but she did great as princess too and she's really cute! have to mention, Takeuchi Ryoma did really excellent here. especially ep8. His acting doesn't seem like acting even one bit. I always feel he's that character, like he really act from understanding character's feeling. plus he looks good whatever he did! He's amazing actor really worth looking forward to.

Overall, it was great and the preview always keep me want to watch next episode. I end up watch it all in one day. what I love the most would be Ryoma. He slay this rocking role! He's totally cool! and so cute in ep8 TT

Nedan Oct 19 2017 7:59 am @122am I would recommend Mondai no aru restaurant. It's a great slice of life drama imo and Takahata Mitsuki san acted in it as well. I watched Kazoku no katachi previously and found it so so (felt that it moved too slowly/ could have been shorter)

122am Oct 12 2017 1:45 am This drama is one of the best, under-rated "Slice of Life" drama.

A realistic and simple fairy-tale like show, without evil characters or love triangles.

Character growth from ep 1 to ep 10 can be seen for almost all characters, including the supporting cast.

Chemistry between Kahoko and Hajime was really excellent.

I also enjoyed how each character is simple and not too emotional.

Father and Mother roles were well-casted and they really brought out the whole show. Jiijii and Baabaa roles were truly excellent.

What a great show! If you enjoyed this, I recommend Midnight Diner (Japanese series version), Jūhan Shuttai, Kazoku no Katachi. I'm also searching for more of such drama, if anyone has recommendations, please reply to this comment. Thank you.

Jurin Aug 11 2017 7:14 am Pretty good drama. I havent watched j-drama for awhile. But this one had definitely kept me hooked. Im a bit frustrated though with Kahoko character as I thought at first that ahe is weak... but its more apparent that she is just plain naive. Doesnt mean shes stupid but bec she is so sheltered from outside conflict , shes having difficulty on dealing with her own. Kinda reminds me of a friend who was the only child. No friends or other family members except mom and dad. Her mother though, is a well.. a bitch. I think in many many subtle ways she is controlling and manipulative in order for her to feel significant and superior to others. The other characters are likeable and relatable. While Kahokos dad is just an angel. He doesnt deserve to be treated that way.
