Kim Eun-Mi (Jeon Hye-Jin) became a single mother when she was a high school student. She raised her daughter Jin-Hee by herself. Now, Kim Eun-Mi is in her 40's and she lives with her 29-year-old daughter Kim Jin-Hee (Sooyoung). Kim Eun-Mi works as a physical therapist and Kim Jin-Hee works as a police officer at the Namchon Police Substation. Kim Jin-Hee bickers with her mother over everything, but they have a strong family bond. One day, a mysterious man Park Jin-Hong (Ahn Jae-Wook) appears in front of Kim Eun-Mi. He works as a doctor. Meanwhile, Eun Jae-Won (Park Sung-Hoon) gets demoted to the Namchon Police Substation. He doesn't get along with Kim Jin-Hee at all.

May 23 2024 5:33 pm 10/10 drama, its really good, uk there are some drama that dont need to have 16 ep but they still have nd it becomes boring but then there r also dramas with only 12 ep which deserve 16 ep this was one of the drama wish they had 16 ep for more screen time for the jin hee and jae won, i wanted to see more of jae won character, he never really opened up wanted to know more abt his pov. This drama felt like home, exactly a drama i wanted to watch, no intense problems, no extra over acting, very much realistic. Well done all the actors <3 and the 1st ep clicked in nd i was into this drama

CH Sep 01 2023 2:23 am I liked this drama, despite most characters being very annoying and selfish maybe because at times some characters feel so real, and not the usual stereotypes in kdramas it is funny how this drama actually helped me understand some of my family members and showed me some life lessons, despite being such a silly story and the ending is just like... ok, lets finish this in 10 minutes...

PD: I usually never comment on physical appearance but whatever Park Sung-Hoon is doing to his face, he needs to stop, please

Anyway good drama, the acting all Great. Storyline wise, it is reality. Mom is not someone you can expect any attitude changes, because they old I guess, the don't change like kid.

Mother is selfish and clingy to the daughter. She wanna solo travel why the heck she following her. Tbh, if my mom do that, I'll just cancel everything.

The daughter herself is much more mature and sensible in this case. Storyline could be better but some part is dragged to make it look ridiculous...too bad.

It has a fresh story, well written chracters (and complicated) and great casting, also the pacibg of the series is good, not too slow nor in a hurry. I too at first think that this is such a diffrent and uniqe mother daugther combo, obnocious? Not they are not, they just diferent, which is makes them way more interesting. Indeed the story line makes everything complicated, but i wish it all ends well. Esp these crazy mom and daugther. They deserve a happy ending. Its such a shame its only 12 episode. I want too see more of these lol. Seriously, this is such a fresh k drama!!!

RimJi Aug 12 2023 10:25 pm I'm enjoying this drama so far. I love the chemistry of Sooyoung & Park Sung-Hoon. The slow burn of their romance is frustrating & exciting at the same time.

I didn't like her mom's & dad's characters, tho. I know this is mostly about mother-daughter dynamics but I feel like JinHee's mom gets to have more romantic moments than her daughter. I find the mom childish most of the time. Her actions & reasonings just scream obnoxious to me at times, especially when she was constantly bypassing her daughter's feelings about her father.

What irked me the most was when the mom tagged the father along JinHee's vacation plan without consulting her as the mom acting as if she didn't do anything wrong & even made JinHee feel guilty for not liking the idea.

But I really like JinHee-JaeWon tandem so I'm seeing this drama until the final episode even if that means tolerating JinHee's parents' cringey romantic moments. Lol

Seriously so done with jinhee, her grabbing dad's collar and going off at him in 8 preview was excessive. Like honestly how is she even a cop? Firstly, lets accept it her mom jumps into every fight and gets physical, almost every 2days apart she has to visit police station where she was involved in some fight, it was a great thing saving the girl but at the same time getting into so many fights sadly puts her at risk, and both mom and daughter should know this and when she is attacked jinhee starts attcking her dad and that too assaulting him.

Overall jinhee is a terribly written character for a female lead, her emotional quotient is so low, she panics every other second, how can she function as a cop? She is mostly causing trouble for colleagues, doing things out of emotions, is always riding high morals horse looking down on others work ethics when she herself simply goes around suspecting anyone of stuff and starts assaulting them. If we look back even when she arrests underwear stealer she could have done it in profesisonal way but what does was so dangerous, which cop arrests a criminal by grabbing their underwear and screaming to call for help?

Jae won on contrast is very mature in how he deals with stuff.

Feel so bad for dad, he was kept in dark about his daughter which was so wrong and now when he has met then, he is needlessly getting mistreated. He is not even a bad person.

W Aug 05 2023 5:33 pm Every actor in the cast has lot of chemistry but sooyoung has no chemistry with anyone, neither mom, nor jae won and this is why not excited about her future scenes with her dad. Its not that she is acting bad, acting is fine but without any chemistry with costars.

Eun mi is actually lot of times very irritating and immature character but jeon hye jin has made her so likeable and fun and her chemistry with everyone even her ex bf is so good. Shes the reason watching the show.

Sunghoon has a very less screentime, he is wasted in thisbrole, dunno why he signed it after success in glory, hopefully he comes in a meaty role next time.

His chemistry is very strong with jin hees mom and the female officer at station, ship him with these two, all these 3 are playing their roles very naturally.

The only thing I don't like is being overly aggressive against the husband when he didn't know anything, but I think it was a Good idea Not to tell him. Why? bc he stopped and gave up on seeing her when his dad said that he would punish his GF if he kept acting up. If she told him about the baby, then the husband's dad would have stepped in and made her abort the baby. When he was young, the husband did not have the power to protect his gf or baby, so it was better than he did not know. Still, I don't think that's a valid reason to hit him and be mean to him. The husband seems down to earth and nice.

I also agree that the mom should have a lengthy convo with her daughter and explain everything about her dad. It's not like a random guy she's taking interest in... it's the daughter's dad, so she should know the details. At the end of the day, the mom should have the freedom to choose to be with the dad or not since the daughter is already old enough. So even if the mom explains to the daughter about the past, and the daughter doesn't accept, the mom should still do what she wants. I think that the daughter is overly sensitive bc her mom is being chased by the killer, so that's why she's over the top a bit with the new bf (who is the dad), since he was lurking around and was sus at first.

It's clear Jin Hee doesn't want to associate with her stranger father, yet she is forcing her just cuz she wants to date her first love. How selfish.

They explained it in episode 1, try watching it again so you can understand better, I may not be right either. There was this problem in their station regarding nepotism and if I'm correct she got involved in one of the cases and the higher-ups didn't really like what she did.

I agree the writers could have done a better job explaining her demotion. It appeared to be a PR thing, but they could have written it a bit tighter.

Lead actresses are doing a great job. Their portrayal of the two characters has me hooked.

Woahhhh Jul 17 2023 6:25 pm Okay so on 1st episode. My issue is with how jin hee's entire workplace thing is shown it is making no sense to a viewer. First there is an abduction case, then suddenly something happens at her work, why is she demoted, her issue with jae won shown so far wasn't detailed enough to feel convicned she should avoid him like a monster. Like atleast give more of the background forher to be afraid of him,but that is a small complaint, main complain is entire protrayal of everything hapoening at her workplace to even now the issues she has at her current station. It is as if either writers didn't write it well or the drama editor was sleep deprived so he edited an entire mess.

Now coming to rest of the show, i think the show is very good because actress playing mother is freaking and like freaking good she is making every moment of her scenes worth a watch.

Overall the show writing is fun from her mom masterbaiting to the horny old woman at massage centre, it is all fun humor.

It felt bad how a good show's few parts were messed up due to poor editing or writing or whatever, but leaving thay aside overall show is extremely good, really hope it stays true to itself. Does this show also have 8 episodes? 16 episodes are a must.
