Reiko Doi (Honami Suzuki) works at a advertising agency in Tokyo, Japan. She is a 49-years-old divorcee without children. She got through her 20's and 30's by working hard and in those days working women could have children. Now, she is stuck at work between her seniors and subordinates. Her male coworkers are uncomfortable with her and her female coworkers are hostile to her. Under these difficult circumstances, Reiko Doi continues her work, fights against loneliness and finds love.
