Ben Kuramae (Tsuyoshi Muro) has worked 30 years as the manager of popular actress Rino Kasahara. He helps her in every facet of her life including scheduling, promotion, and her personal life. With the help of Ben Kuramae, Rino Kasahara has been able to maintain her position as the top actress in the country. They both share the same dream of having Rino Kasahara extend her career overseas. On the brink of achieving their shared dream, Rino Kasahara suddenly fires Ben Kuramae and tells him that his work can be done by anyone. Ben Kuramae even sacrificed his personal life for his job and never married and became estranged from his friends and family. Ben Kuramae falls into despair and loses the meaning in his life. He begins to work as a paralegal for rookie attorney An Amano (Yurina Hirate). She is extremely smart and became the youngest person to pass the bar exam, but she is unsuccessful with her cases because she lacks communication skills with her clients.
