Tetsuo Tosu (Kuranosuke Sasaki) is an ordinary married man. His hobby is writing mystery novels. He lives with his with wife Kasen (Tae Kimura) and they have a daughter Reika (Asuka Saito) who has moved out of his home. On his 47th birthday, he expects his daughter Reika to visit him and celebrate his birthday. When he sees her, he is stunned to see she has a bruise on her face.

Tetsuo Tosu repeatedly asks what is going on with her, but she doesn't give an answer. He is deeply worried about his daughter and decides to visit her apartment without telling her. At that time Reika’s boyfriend Nobuto Matori (Shuichiro Naito) arrives at Reika’s apartment. Tetsuo Tosu hides in a closet there. He learns that Nobuto Matori previously beat his ex-girlfriend to death and he now harms Reika. Tetsuo Tosu, who has never broken any laws in his life, impulsively decides to take action for his daughter. He kills Nobuto Matori. Soon after that, Tetsuo Tosu is chased by a crime organization, which Nobuto Matori was a member of, and by the police.
