Like you I enjoyed listening to Classical Music and attending concerts and theatre.One of the reasons why I can’t leave London is its proximity to theatres and Concert Halls. When my husband passed away, I found it hard to overcome my sadness until I came across Asian Dramas, the culture, history, attitudes of which I found interesting and intriguing because it’s so different to mine. However, I found that the plots seem to revolve around “rich man poor woman” romance, amnesia, fantasies which involve Deities in conflict..I got tired watching these. However, I found some good ones that I do not tire watching over and over again eg, Nirvana in Fire, What Happened in Bali etc.

I would like to make some comments on the TV drama called "Papa Wa Idol". First above all it was good to make a TV drama on a subject, that seems to be very difficult matter in Asian celebrities lives. I am not so sure if we here in Finland have such things as Idols, of course we do have these TV contest programs that seem to be very in nowadays. I am 53 years old lady and I do not watch such programs, where they choose Idols or new voices. Neither it seems that my son so not everybody watches these kind of programs and in Finland, I feel that you can walk rather freely on the streets of cities even if you are a famous person. We have a lot of green space as well as our population is over 5 million so we are in that way lucky that I think you can stay rather private person even if you are famous in some field and appear on TV often.

But of course you would have to interview famous people in Finland if they think the way I do. Because I know that you might get more telephone calls if you are famous than otherwise you would. I have one relative, who used to work for our National TV and Radio company YLE and I think she had a secret telephone number due to work reasons, but otherwise I did not ever notice real difficulties on the streets of Helsinki while walking with her on the streets ever felt that maybe she was noticed especially for her voice, because she really had an exceptionally unique but a very beautiful radio voice. She worked their for her all her working life and got retired from there as well. I think some over 30 years.

Well otherwise I do not have very much knowledge of the lives of famous people in real life. I have seen a lot of famous people in real life, but never had the urge to go and bother these people on streets or cafes or collecting famous peoples signatures. Really don't see it very important thing, but well it seems in Asia you have even sessions, where famous people give their signatures...

Well to say my opinion I would not give my signature to any kind of paper, if it is not an legal document of some kind so I feel Idols lives must be somewhat bothersome and even dangerous.

The fanaticism what I see on internet for some of the K-pop artists in South Korea for example really makes me as a person very uncomfortable. I mean the screaming people and the pulling and throwing yourself against others just to get a glimps of someone you favor or whose singing you like. I was used to go and watch a lot of classical music, theater plays and sports events or shows, but in my time as young people we did not really had to collect signatures or go to every concert a famous person gave. It would be enough to go and see a play and after that we would not wait for the famous people to come out and give signatures we would just go home and maybe people would go out to eat afterwords and discuss about a performance and share opinions like loving it or hating it.

World is different now that in my youth and everything seems rather materialized in every aspects of life. To some extend I really feel that it is even very hateful, that people follow famous people around all the time. I mean you should be taught at schools and homes, not to disturb people. I mean okay you are a famous boy group member, Nishikido Ryo, but you are also a normal person like everybody else. So even if you have chosen a singer's and actor's career, it should not mean that you do not have a wright to have a normal family life and friends outside of your work environment. It is just a work like anybodyelses. To me a truck driver or marketing secretary or electrician all the same professions needed in our society, so all should have same wrights to private and work lives equally.

Could I be wrong if I said that while I have been following SS501's Kim Hyun Joong's carreer during this one past year, I really think that the famous people's lives seem to be a pain in Asia and maybe also in Turkey as well. I used to live in Istanbul for very many years. Known the country for 40 years. Though I am born in Finland, but was married and worked in Istanbul in some time of my life. Worked at Istanbul airport also so you see famous people at airports often or you have them as customers on flights. I was critized in Istanbul once, because I treated everybody the same, I did not treat people according to their "famous" titles better that normal economy passengers. I could say that I tried to keep every customer as a special person. I think that it would be more safe for everybody, if you do not make people notice people just because they are famous. Maybe it could be even a marketing hit to make a special company, that says that I will certainly treat famous people as normal people....Just a thought I often have these great business ideas...that might even be profitable to someone someday.

In Turkey people talk a lot to each other so maybe the famous Idols in Turkey are more accustomed to answer and discuss about their lives to people normal and paparazzi's. But in some extend I was very confused this year, when I started to look up youtube videos of concerts and happenings of this boy group SS501 (not active nowadays, some of them private carreers or going to the military services as well these days) and noticed that young people seem to worship and want to touch these people and take photographs of them everywhere and anytime of day. I served many passengers from Japan in 1990's for example and I thought that in that in your culture people seem to keep their distance to people and be more calm in their actions. So this idol thing has it come from the United States to Japan as well as to Finland. I mean have Asian people really been this eager to follow Idols in the past days in History or is this just our time that has made the lives of famous people in to real chaos?

But for a year now I have been watching Asian dramas mostly the ones I have been watching are from South Korea, Japan and Taiwan and even China Mainland so to speak. I do like a lot of the Asian dramas I have been able to watch and I have laughed a lot also during this Papa wa Idol program as well.

Only one thing that made me rather upset in the program was, that the normal family did not seem to consider at all the difficulties of this Idol.

Also as a divorced lady and a mother of one son. I find it very strange that a a mother and a woman in family did not have any clue of making a family one unit.

The lack of discussion of family matters and whose place is where should have been more clear. I mean when you make a family on the screen you should somehow also see the picture of how to make a society, where people accept different kind of families as normal families of society. I mean in this Papa wa Idol drama you had even many difficult things in one drama:

The Idols problems in dating and having a family, also divorced ladies problems also new type families problems. Maybe too many aching subjects of life and societies for everybody to grasp.

I would have preferred that the Mother of the family, would have been brave enough to make sure that the new husband would have a real place in the household. Maybe in your culture society is more important than individuals, so maybe that is why you do not express the importance of an individual in a family also. Finnish culture is about individuals not so much about the society at least on the first look, but of course when you look deep into the Finnish society you will notice that it also has away of looking from the public eye. Because if you make a new family where other is a non married person before and the other side with even children of very different ages and widow or divorcee, then always it is the adults responsibility to make sure that they back up both of their back so to speak. So you should not give possibility to degrade the other party like the papa was done in this drama. I totally did not approve of it!

From educational point of view, because I think that it had a educational influence on the viewer if the one who watches has a brain and life lived, then you should see, that something really was off in this drama. Maybe it was intentional to do that way for it to make people think in your country, because it was probably not made for Finnish market more to Japan or Asian countries.

In Finland it is thought that everybody has a private side and then public side even if famous, but of course our paparazzi side is as bad probably as anywhere in the world, but because the country is very scarcely populated then you can hide yourself some where easily. I think that Finland is rather good for famous people to visit and spend holidays to rest especially our summertime or if you like winter sport then also at winter time but due to climate change it is more guaranteed to have snow in northern Finland, that in the South.

I think most important thing for a famous person is to keep your head from drowning. My sincere wish is that you would not loose the touch of real life, because I think Japan and Finland are one of the nations with high suicide rates in general according to statistics.

So you should learn to separate your work and home lives, but you should not have a secret family ever. It is not good for your family my opinion. Everybody has to be respected in the family who ever they are public figures or normal people. It is also possible for not to be in the public eye your lover or your husband or wife is not obliged to be in the public eye. You just don't give any interviews, but you can say who you have married or dating if the other party has given his or her consent to this information to be released.

The of course if this paparazzi really is as bad as it seems, then I hope God will take care of them also with time, because I think many working in that field have really crossed the line of not being polite. Of course I as an middle aged lady do see that many famous people live very badly also, but mostly not talented people end up not staying very long famous, because people can see what is good and what is bad. For you who are entertainers in different fields most important thing for a viewer is your performance in your work, not so much about yr private life in my Finnish point of view, but maybe it is different in your country.

Of course people here also read different articles from different media about famous people, but I think due to high education level probably mostly people can see what is real and what is rubbish in the media....

I am shocked about your society's dramas because it seems that if parents divorce then the other side never sees the children afterwords and it even seems that in your society there is a habit of looking that the other side is all black and the other white. That of course is not true ever. Marriage has two partners, so equally their would be faults and good sides as well. So to separate the children from one of the parents is very bad thing and not acceptable to me.

I even divorced my Turkish husband, but I even tried to live in the society for some time after divorce with my child and my son was regularly visiting father on the weekends and also his relatives. Then when we moved back to Finland, then also I continued to fly to Istanbul on every school holidays, so that my son could visit his father and his family regularly and also have the possibility to speak Turkish and not forget it and the relatives in Turkey.

I really wish that in Japan also divorced parents children have possibility to see their both parents even after divorces and equally look after them, because it is important for the children and their minds will grow more stable in stable life. You should protect the children from the fights of parents as good as you can and you should not make them hate the other parent. It is a very big mistake to make children suffer only because parents do not love eachother anymore.

You should have a cool head always when the question is of the happiness of your family and children. But staying unhappily married and trying to grow your children in hostile environment that is also out of question for me and most professionals would probably agree with me.

But because this ideal life is not possible in every environment like in Istanbul I do know that not every woman can divorce easily and the life after divorce for a woman can be very difficult and my Finnish side can not understand the difficulties of woman in different societies, but I speak in general. Because I do know why it is easy in Finland but not in Turkey, so I am a lucky one because I have lived in these very different societies so I am not surprised by the things I see in Asian dramas. But for a Finn who has lived all his life in Finland, she or he will never really understand the other cultures as well as I can.

So these are the thoughts I got after watching yr drama for the third time...Decided to write some of my views. Maybe there is something that can be considered even as an advice for you during your life. Well Nishikido Ryo you are only 30 years old so hopefully you have a nice life and lot of possibilities to influence yr society to go to the better. Also hope that you will have a private life also that is respected as well as public working life. First above all respect always your partner and take hold of your life's strings, I did not like the picture i have gotten from the agent managers in your idol business it seems that it is full of criminals and bad people, who are like just using idols to get money for themselves. Hopefully there are also respectable people as agent in entertainment business in Asia in general.

Sometimes I feel that they just use young people and after using they are kicked out and forgotten.

Many famous people die all alone in this world even in extreme poverty....So you should remember to save some money for the old days to come......

I watched just this weekend an other new production called Dokushin Kizoku and there they mentioned us Northern Europeans, that we like to have enough space between one person from the other. Well that is true, Finns like to have enough room so we do not stand on bus stops even near each other.... We like to wander in the forests also, so we are not so urban people probably, but there is of course city people as well. Still Finns like to live far from next door house, if it is possible some trees separate the houses from each other. So that they will not see to the other house at all. Maybe I have lived all my life in Finland in our own house not apartments only in Turkey lived in apartment houses. Turkish people live often the life of the next door family so unlike us Finns. Turkish people like to know everything about the new family living next door to them. How is it in Japan do people like living in Finnish way or are you more near to the Turkish way of life of American life?

Well I wrote too much, but maybe someone might even read it, and hopefully it can help someone out there as well and make the world a better place, because understanding others seems to lack from this world of ours nowadays unfortunately. People seem to be too busy and in the end the busy life is also created by us humans so it is in our hands to be less active and take a rest from the cartwheel if we wish it is all in our own hands.

It is important to just observe our surroundings from time to time.

Well and listening to much elder people never hurt me when I was young, their is something like wisdom in some older people who have been able to live a good life.

I still don't know anything about the music Kanjani8 makes so probably will make some research on that. I mostly watch and listen to music that makes you dance...So depends on that quality if I will see to this boy-group's music very profoundly. .
