While running a small beep soup restaurant, Park Sun-Ja raised her three daughters Mi-Sun (Yoo-Sun), Mi-Ri (Kim So-Yeon) and Mi-Hye (Kim Ha-Kyung) alone. She still runs the restaurant to this day and her three daughters are now all grown up. Sun-Ja's first daughter Mi-Sun is married and she has a daughter. Mi-Sun is busy working and taking care of her family. Second daughter Mi-Ri cares about her mother a lot. She is confident in herself and good at her job. Mi-Ri gets involved in a romantic relationship with her co-worker Tae-Joo (Hong Jong-Hyun). He is the youngest son of the family that owns the company. The youngest daughter is Mi-Hye. She used to be a promising novelist, but she is not any more. She helps her mother at the restaurant.

Beta Nim Oct 18 2023 1:52 am This is, by far, one of the best and most unforgettable weekend dramas from KBS! ? Definitely hits close to home with some of the arguments between mother and daughter, even though I am an only son. My mother and aunts watched this and also shed some tears.

It also made me cry a lot and taught me some life lessons that we me must appreciate our mother and don’t do things that we might regret later on.

Lynn Jun 17 2021 6:22 am Eldest daughter is a loser. Depend and bully her mum to do her housework but dare not stand up to her mother-in-law. Just kick out her husband n his family. The youngest daughter , watching her just make me angry. Over react with funny facial features all the time. Forever screaming. The whole drama is always screaming and hitting. Omg. Waiting for breakthrough dramas like Crash Landing.

Mr A Mar 08 2021 8:45 am I totally agree with "Icenote"'s review this drama had a strong start. Potryated the modern issue and family problems. But it lost its charm (plot) with some ridiculous and forced situations. I wasn't even able to continue after some early-mid episodes.

The writing is simply awesome. The oldest sister is a big loser. She is told time and time again to fire her worthless maid and she doesn’t only for it to lead to some bullshit with the kid getting lost on her way home.

Every problem in this show is so manufactured and so easily solved with a simple conversation

Lucy Aug 07 2020 6:38 pm Hmm, where to start..My first time watching a drama with more than 53 episodes. It reminds me of the long drawn out soap operas in the US where the writers have plenty of time to fill for the drama to continue on a daily basis for the hourly episodes. Instead of filling each ep with quality content, fillers such as characters walking so slow as if on a death march, long stares off into space bordering on completely zoning out until the director calls 'cut', answering phone calls with silence to the point where a normal phone caller would give up on the person answering with an abrupt 'end call', and so on. By the 10th or 11th episode I kept my hand near the forward button to scroll through the endless aforementioned sequences. The dialog during these scenes were just as agonizing to sit through. The main character of said episodic death throes was usually that of Jeon In-Sook plyed by Choi Myoung-Gil. As I had plenty of wasted time to access the director's 'motivations', my mind tended to go where it shouldn't, namely was/is the director giving extended screen time to said actress because of an affair??? Rediculous, yes, but I couldn't figure out why, oh why, so so so so much screen time was alloted to one particular actor/actress to the frustration of viewers having to delete scenes for themselves which should have been shortened in the first place. For those of us unfamiliar with Choi Myoung-Gil, her scenes, however well played, were a deterrent from seeking her other works. One will have ample opportunity to take a bathroom break, fix a bowl of ramean, or whatever during each episode. No need in pausing each episode to 'run' do anything. I finished all 108 episodes ONLY out of sheer curiosity. I finish what I start and this drama was not the exception, but, and it's a huge BUT, I won't start another drama by said director, or by the writer, unless it has a 10 STAR review across the board from all viewers. Was this drama worth the time to watch, meh yes. Good for a rewatch, absolutely no.

This drama talks about a love of a mother, a mother who went through a lot of hardship for her children. The ending was realistic and so sad that I cried during the funeral scene. They had their fun moments and sad moments as a family. And not to talk about the sound tracks I love each and everyone of them especially “Hello” and “color of my life

It’s been more than 10 years since I started watching kdrama and I don’t plan on stopping. I love their drama mostly because it’s funny and they talk about things around us that you hardly notice in life.

don Sep 29 2019 8:14 pm I'm sorry to see this one end-a drama that was believable, with well-developed characters. I don't think I've ever seen a drama that handled death so realistically. I thought that Miseon would have stepped into her mother's place in the restaurant, but that didn't happen. Has there been a better-looking couple in a drama than Taeju and Miri? Whoever designed or selected the clothes for the cast did a first-class job, I think, and the music of the soundtrack was one of the best OSTs in my memory.

 Well, those are my thoughts on this show. I'll miss this show, and think about it for a long time. I expect that most of the cast will earn well-deserved awards come the end of the year.

For the last scene, may i know WHY their mother was still in the shop, drinking and dancing or even trying to call them by her cell phone. Actually i did hope the reason ( story) was talking about the story in the book which written by her 3rd daughter but not the reality!

Am i right??? If it's not, please tell me WHY she was STILL in the shop after her funeral.

Outer Space Sep 14 2019 12:46 pm So now it's even 108 episodes instead of much much too long 100 ones. I'm glad when it's finally over and the next drama will start. I really liked the start and the leading couple, but Miri's restaurant mother is so annoyingly overacting, and youngest sister itself and eldest sister's husband plus parents are reason to turn TV off. But the worst is again KBS to make a good drama boring by stretching it so long. 30 episodes would have been perfect but obviously KBS likes to frustrate viewer. They ruined it with Tailor Shop, My Golden Life, On the way to the Airport, Cinderellas Stepsister, The Princess Man, etc. Yes this makes production for TV broadcast time much cheaper but it's so annoying. :-(

saranghae Sep 11 2019 11:33 pm i dont know if im alone but im really glad that this thing will be over soon and i cant wait for the next drama to start beautiful love the casting alone is superb and the plot looks very promising i respect kbs2 a lot but for me mother of mine was a big flop i didnt like it from the very beginning i didnt like anybody from the cast and i never knew what the plot was about cuz i dumped this thing by epi 20 this writer chose to drag this thing from epi 1 i think the main problem was that this drama was geared for the old ladies bracket which im certainly not in this bracket please get rid of this drama soon and start the new one

Elle Sep 01 2019 5:30 pm Hope taeju's brother is not actually related to him and the stepmother affair with other man surface so she will b kicked out of the family permanently forever.got love n hate relationship with this drama since taeju's stepmother came back its not fun to watch it plus the main cast got less n less showtimes as the villains got more exposure this drama is no more my fav. Switch tv all the time when the stepmother clans appear. Prefer watch it in a record so i can fast forward it. Mirae biological mom's family kept appearing too its annoying as there will b lesser time for main cast to appear.

I like Miri's older sister with her husband and their child. they are so fun to watch. The in-laws are also fun. Mihye's acting is so corny and annoying I always skip her scenes. they should have cast a better actress than her. I'm disappointed with the wedding scene. I'm not sure, but I think that was done for advertisement revenue. The drama before this had 53/106 episodes similarly.

The drama is good so far, it hooks you in. Keeps you guessing the relatingship between all the characters. It's a little bit dramatic with the mother in law and her behaviour. But that's nothing new, considering the primary demographic of such shows. Definitely worth giving a try.
