Medical student Naoko's (Nana Eikura) first love is her uncle Masato (Arata Iura). To become closer to him she gets admitted into a prestigious medical school in Tokyo. At the medical school Naoko meets Aya (Miho Kanno) - the daughter of the hospital's director and also talented researcher at the school. Aya is also Masato's girlfriend. For the first time in her life, Aya begins to feel frustration when Naoko meets Masato again ...

Justme Feb 04 2019 2:54 am If I has to be on Naoko position,i would ask my sexy and charismatic uncle to go to America or europe right after the uncle mention that he loved me. And than, change my identity to get married with him, and live happily ever after. You know why, bcs naoko and masato are NOT blood related, Masato was adopted by Naoko's family. so what is the matter?? Incest? I dont think so. Its just ilegal on Japan, but legal on a few countries.

blah_ Jul 06 2016 6:44 am I LOVE THIS DRAMA. very well written and directed, superb acting. the first half of the 1st episode was a meh to me but everything gets better and better after that, i couldn't stop watching and finished the whole drama in 12 hours lol the storyline is unpredictable but reasonable, the pace isn't too slow or too fast.

About the main characters, i was about to stop watching the drama when it was 40 minutes in the first episode because the chemistry between Naoko and Masato was so awkward and i thought that Aya woman was so pretentious. turned out i was totally wrong. their chemistry keeps getting more and more passionate each episode to the point my heart was almost exploded after i finished ep9 (yes, that scene was so powerful). and it's so heartwarming whenever they're together and be themselves. also Aya's (Miho) acting is very good. her lies are so convincing even me myself believed her quite a few times lol

I won't say much about the story because i don't want to spoil anything here, but i have to say it's really good and understandable, at least to me, i love everything about it, including the ending. i didn't expect to see 4 directors, wow, good job directing the whole thing. and the music was painfully beautiful i must say. also the OP and ED are stunning, i didn't skip any sec of them, it's a good idea putting the quotes from each episode in the ED.

the whole drama is just... so powerful and beautiful, i'd give it 9/10 overall.

blah_ Jul 06 2016 6:18 am @darkmax: Naoko has never admit that she used Norisugi as a filler, that was just some bullsh*t that Norisugi assumed after knowing the whole story. Naoko didn't explain anything to Norisugi but from what i see, the reason she chose to be with Norisugi is because she wanted to move on and forget Masato, just like what she said to Masato before he went to Pittsburgh.

@Ana: it was so clear that they are NOT blood related. they have mentioned it a few times in the first few episodes that Masato was adopted. i just don't really get why everyone in the drama re-acted as if they are blood related, making it a huge deal.

It was mentioned in the drama that he had been adopted , bit I wasn't clear if they were not blood related. That disturbed me. I think towards the end the drama kind of fell apart. They should have been cleared if not blood related to be happy. That was left unanswered. Good drama though. Wish they have a second season

Clarkdale44 Mar 26 2014 5:20 am Well, i feel very refreshed after finishing this drama. Casting was superb by all the characters specially Nana Eikura and Miho Kanno. I still don't believe love defies all human laws. Anyway it was nice drama for one time watch. I don't think i can watch it again. Yet i liked it very much. I recommend this drama!!!

DON"T READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVE YET TO WATCH THIS DRAMA:- Although i liked this series and i am satisfied with the ending yet i feel dissatisfied. If they both love each other then what's the big deal if they wants to live together? They had to sacrifice their job, their career, their country their friends and their family to be together. I am partially satisfied because in the end even though they couldn't marry, neither they could have any children, they are still together.

I will give it 8/10(For great casting and ending also nice cinematography)

darkmax Dec 18 2011 2:30 pm Wow... powerful drama. Morality vs Love. Honestly hate the way Naoko uses Yasushi as a filler. I kind of feel for the poor chap....

SOPHIA Dec 13 2011 5:58 pm This drama is really awesome. the story and characters are amazing.....and note Naoko and Masato are not blood realated, he was adopted into the family, so I root for them. Im on the 9th episode and its getting really good. I recommend this Drama!!! XD
