Shin Michima (Yojiro Noda) is an unpopular novelist. He has lived with 5 mysterious women in the same house for half a year. Minami Shirakawa (Rila Fukushima) loves coffee. Hitomi Tsukamoto (Rena Matsui) loves black tea, yoga and reading good books. Yuki Kobayashi (Miwako Wagatsuma) is a polite woman and loves roasted green tea. Midori Suzumura (Rena Takeda) is a high school student and loves acerola juice. Nanaka Seki (Yuko Araki) loves drinking milk.

These 5 women pay Shin a million yen every month for rent and living expenses. They have roles in the house and questions about the women are banned.

Mara Apr 25 2022 1:44 am Been wanting to watch this series since I first viewed the trailer on Netflix and I'm glad I finally did. Each character is intriguing in their unique way. As for the one "responsible" for the whole thing, I didn't see that coming. It's a must-watch!

vousvoyez Jan 03 2022 2:03 pm Oh man, I came across while browsing random things to watch and found it as a suggested in Alice in Borderlands. Came in blind, but was totally amazed in the end. The first ep hooked me in and ended up binging the whole series in like a day.

Julia Dec 09 2020 7:40 am I love how the plot is absolutely unpredictable(in a way on "when" and "how" each character would die). I just knew that this story based on Manga (i haven't yet read the manga), but i expect the cinematography of this movie could've been done better. Bottom line is.... This movie is worth to watch !!! Minami is my fav character! She is Bold and Witty! And she is the one who's actually care and protect each of them! Eventhough she painted as a dark and scary on the outlook.

lenta Mar 21 2018 12:20 am I cried when Shin finally cried on the last episode. i don't know why but i feel strange emotion about them. you may find it strange but actually this drama gives a lot of surprise.

bee Feb 02 2018 4:46 pm i thoroughly enjoyed the series! it's very easy to watch, doesn't have a complex plot which is hard to follow and is nice and short so you don't get consumed by it.

the series surrounds 5 women who move in to live with a very unsuccessful novelist, his works aren't badly written or uninteresting, but, they just don't get the credit they deserve. that is as much as i want to give to you because i don't want to spoil anything!

the series has an eerie feel to it but it's actually kinda interesting and it has you on edge constantly but it leaves a meaningful punch and allows you to get close with the characters and why they do what they do.

by the end you will be left satisfied, i promise! i nailed the whole series in 3 days (i could have done it quicker but.. it was a school night when i first started watching it and i was very very tired) anyway, besides the point, i highly recommend it!

Subber Jan 01 2018 3:37 pm I just had to show some love for this show. Had it on my watchlist on NETFLIX for so long but just watched it over the New Year. I loved it so much. Such wonderful storytelling, if you liked 'the many faces of Ito' this is also good even better and darker.

opheliablack Sep 02 2017 5:57 pm Like others, I binged this show from beginning to end. I thought the premises was intriguing and the way it played out would have never happened on American TV. That's a good thing. All of the women and their backstories kept me wondering who the master planner was. Well worth the watch. And the little niggling that I'd seen Minami in something bore out. She was in The Wolverine.

And some Japanese Animate but Im soo glad that I gave this show A chance, It simple yet complex. It's full of quirks and unexpected twist and turns. People should definitely give it a chance.

The cast members were on point!!! With their actings sooo on point , you cannot imagine. Whew yesss. Othe then a comedy this would also probably fall under "Psychological thriller" I donno... Its something, but its something good.

every character has their own flair and not harem drama type at all, which is nice.

I've always heard the Japanese were very polite but the amount of times they say thank you in the series is very moving. I can't get the story out of my mind I know it is not something that will have a series 2 but I do hope to see these actors again. Everything was so high quality.

This show hooks you immediately, and you just have to know what happens next. It's captivating, interesting, shocking, and emotional. It has moments of tension and suspense, and moments of gripping emotion. It is superbly acted and perfectly cast. Don't let the silly title or the promotional photos or even Netflix's crummy description scare you away: this is not your typical Jdrama, it's got sex, violence, murder, and it's a thought provoking, intelligent show that I promise you'll love.

Nsjs Aug 26 2017 3:25 am I really enjoyed this drama on Netflix. Its a quick-ish season 12 eps about 26 or 30 minutes long. The idol or musicians argument used that they shouldn't go into acting can Not be used here! There are plot twists and just when you want more of a character and think they weren't well developed they give you a reason. It made me think about conflicting emotions we may all experience. Only thing is I wish there were some warnings on scenes. I understand in America we may seem a little more sensitive to social issues but a rape scene really gave me chills. Besides that I loved the character development ( & lack thereof).

It is understated and softly delivered, and the cultural influences in the story do not detract but rather they pique interest and compel the American viewer to a broader world view.

The show is dark and sinister, but then light and cute all at the same time. I even uttered a "HOLY SH**" towards the end of the series. 10/10

John Bartell Aug 20 2017 10:24 am I have been totally sucked in. Shin is trapped in his own emotional isolation which will be his destruction. Why are the women there. Character development alone is worth the time. Can there really be a season 2 and not ruin the fascination.

The content of this series is surprising, truly a psychological thriller bred with Hitchcock-blasting gusto, a deep mystery that leaves the audience pointing fingers and never uncovering the truth until the very end. A must watch for those capable of following a lengthy, complex, emotionally thick plot.
