A perfect man, Kong Ki-Tae (Yeon Woo-Jin), is forced to marry by his family, but he doesn't to marry. To make his family give up, he introduces a woman, Joo Jang-Mi (Han Groo), to them that they would never accept.

JESSA ANN A YLAGAN Dec 07 2021 9:35 pm This drama is sooo good. Yeon Woo Jin is such a remarkable actor. I cannot help but watch all his dramas from one then another. This is my 4th drama of his after QFSD, My Shy Boss, and IWHYS. He is sooo good. I wish he had an Instagram account. The ending is sooo perfect. If only they had a scene where they found out she is pregnant. Been expecting for that. I agree that the second lead was annoying. I used to liked him in the early episodes but all in all the two main couples made me happy. I'm gonna miss them a lot. Thank you TVN! Thank you Marriage, Not Dating Team! There's no episode I got bored. Though it was a bit frustrating during the pre-confession scene of Jang Mi but I'm glad the playing-hard-to-get didn't last long. Life is full of surprises indeed. Even though it's a drama, I learned a lot of things in real life. I stayed up all night just to see everything lol. This is is such a wonderful drama I will remember for the rest of my life.

The title is marriage not dating but it’s more for the first lead girl and second male lead dating life, and I thought they gonna get married earlier but until eps 8, there’s no sign of marriage. I want to smack his smiling face all the time. Atleast se ah had some plot relevance and only appeared when needed. Yeorum was in so many useless scenes. I really wish writers would stop writing useless 2nd male leads just for eyecandy

I like Gong Gi Tae and Lee Hoon Dong friendship and also Han Yeoreum-Ju Jangmi-Gong Gi Tae relation. First time i watched this drama because of Yeon Woojin. I Love Kdrama Sep 16 2019 9:32 am If this is s serious melodrama then the lead characters would be very stressful from the quarreling relatives/families/relatives looking down on the lead gal who runs a bar etc. Since this is a romantic comedy then everything became lighthearted and hilarious.

I think Yoon Eun Hye was on hiatus starting 2013. dont know if YEH will ever come back in dramaland, but it would be interesting to see Yoon Eun Hye & Yeon Woo Jin together in a Romcom, that would be epic and complete my life, hehe lol.

This Romcom reminded me of my addiction & excitement to “Goong/Princess Hours” and “It Started with a Kiss (Taiwan)”. Im now addicted to Yeon Woo Jin because of this Romcom. But all the actors are good as well, they made this drama very funny, entertaining & memorable.

kimmy Feb 18 2019 1:40 am this drama has got to be one of the best rom-coms ever made. sure, the leads dont dive into a relationship straight away but i really love that about this drama. there was more to it than the romance.there was friendship, relaxation, laughter, family and thats what life is all about.the chemistry was amazing and i could actually feel the love the leads had for each other.some people bash some characters but as for me i loved each and every character in this drama ( perhaps except the gong ki tae s father) and the character development was good. i could watch this drama 10000 times and not get tired of it.totally in the top 5 of my all time favourite dramas

I'm trying to finish this drama and I am in episode 14 right now and barely holding on. The actors are really good, don't get me wrong but the script sucks BIG time. The main female lead were always caught doing and saying the most stupid thing ever and was always misunderstood. And she's always saying the opposite of what she feels in front of Ki-Tae and regretting it after, isn't it crazy? I feel bad for Ki-Tae most of the time. And there was a time when the female lead was already developing her feelings toward Ki-Tae but still having romantic thing for Yeo-Reum.

The script ruins the good actors all in all. The story is repetitive, push and pull..it's like an endless loop. The only good in this drama is the comedy part and about the family. The writer could've done better IMHO.

Oh and Kang Seha! She pisses me off so much! But it makes the drama more interesting....sooooooo....yeah! All in all great drama! I recommend! I love Yeon woo jin‘s acting btw*^^*! I watched "my shy boss" during winter break and was also really impressed! Han groo....meh....well it isn’t terrible, but I think she could do better or someone else could do better, like Kang Seulgi (they look very similar imo xD) or Yoon Eun Hye for example. Holy shit I’ve been ranting too much so i’ll end it here. I just started watching the drama 2 days ago and am pretty happy so far! So yeah...*^^*

So this Means I didn't get through episode one. I understand the mother part, but the rest of this drama us for the birds. I am glad he didn't have love pain in my Shy Boss drama.

But the last two episodes are gold, because they focuses more on the family theme. If only this show would stop with the stupid love triangle and the misunderstanding that accompanied, it could've been better. I was able to finish this show after I skipped any scenes that contain second leads.

Maybe a lot of people are gonna hate me for saying this but I didn't like the first episode at all. The main lead was really pathetic. She's a good actress but I can't sympathize with her role at all. The scenes are way too cringey for me. I have watched a lot of asian films and dramas for a decade now and I just can't seem to like this. If I were younger, I would have liked this. I'm not old either (only 22). I forced myself to watch the 1st episode but I couldn't even finish it. Does it get better from there?

Darren Dec 22 2015 8:43 am I like watching earlier episode. But started to dislike Jang Mi's role. As a girl, she looks irresponsible in love and working. She can leave her work or just take leave to attend personal matter. This is not acceptable in any working condition. I do not feel sorry for her when she was fired as she has not taken her work seriously bit too engrossed to get involved in a relationship. An irresponsible person as she seems like to be kissed by anyone Gi Tae and Yeo Rum. She just want to fall in love and return a kiss when she is unsure. Can look quite desperate for a young girl. I like Gi Tae's character. He is sweet and charming. Jang Mi's personality does not match well to him. He is clear in the clear when falling in love and know how to resist his ex-lover as opposed to Jang Mi a desperate person in seeking a lover.

Overall, I continue to watch because of Gi Tae who keeps the drama alive.

a fan Jun 09 2015 1:26 am I've really enjoyed this drama, bc it's mainly funny but has emotional depth, perhaps what sets this one apart is the focus on supporting character's lives, the star of this drama to me is Kim Hae-Sook, she carried her scenes beautifully, and that's how a talented actress like her operates, her marriage was what kept me going, I wanted a happy ending for her, and she finally got it!

my main complaint is that the drama feels kinda steroetypical, and formalic, I mean how many times have we watched fake marriages turn to real ones,I hoped they'd change the format a bit, but well...it's all good.

and I loooooove Han Groo! she's super cute and funny! <3

It's very rare for me not to find some fault with the writing of dramas but here the writing was exceptional. A wonderful drama. I hope it receives some recognition! Great cast and beautifuly acted. It seems that slowly KD's are evolving in how they are depicting the family dynamics. Good to see and hopefully an inspiration.

The conflict wasn't too serious, so it was really just a romantic comedy.Loved the couple and their funny romantic moments. I even love the character of Lee hoon dong who made lot of crazy things. Others may not appreciate him but he's such a natural comedian. I really love the chemistry of gi tae and jang mi, they are so cute together that is why I hope to see them togethervin other dramas.after watching it, I still can't move on that even during sleep, i suddenly smile coz i remember those funny moments of this drama.. The best!!! two thumbs up! All episodes are worth watching for !

He's such a lovely person with such a bad childhood and all alone in the world. A young man with lots of aspiration, he is also upright...work like mad to clear his loan. He is the soulmate of Jang Mi...spearheaded a business so that Jang Mi can hold her head high...If Jang Mi is to put him and Ki Tae on a scale to choose the best, she'll still not find the difference. Good thing her heart help her find.

christina Jan 28 2015 9:09 am It was total fun watching it...never expected to enjoy so much. The story is more about relationships & responsibilities...that communications are very important. It is pretty boring if the writer had not wrapped it in comedy. Han Groo and Woo Jin really hit it well...they are so funny. I actually fell off my stool at one of their nonsense...lol. JinWoon's smile is really a killer, but from the few scenes when he was being rejected and wanting to salvage the relationship, I think he can be the male lead in future. The 3 main casts' actions were pretty exaggerating but I really love them. All in all, the casts are all very good looking and very professional. Keep it up!

kim Jan 16 2015 11:02 am i dont know why other people hated this drama and particularly at the 2 main leads because i love them both.okay i respect their opinion but saying watching this is such a waste of time, no. This was a fun and light-hearted drama. it didn't impose heavy idealism to the viewers but it did give some interesting points to ponder although it might not be obvious enough. what worked here is not only the romance but the family plot as well, rarely do kdramas have. yes it went a little flat at the middle but not boring and it picked up towards the end. if you hate romcoms then dont watch this, however if you want a feel good drama that will leave you on butterflies, this is what you need

P.S. Han groo and Yeon woo jin are both brilliant in this. wishing for more projects for these 2 actors

The character of Jang Mi was always funny and caring, though she was not a genius character, not all women are insanely smart, but she does use her brain. Though often her emotions override her brain, which is a fault of hers they showcased throughout this drama. She adds a sense of spunk and charm to a cast that already has two very smart females portrayed. Ki Tae was a smart and interesting character. He learns from his mistakes and also brings a comic sense to the story. The second male lead was fantastic to listen and watch, and the cooking aspect of the show was fun! I believe the chemistry between the main leads was amazing throughout the entire drama. They have little caring, cute moments, and arguments, they're a normal couple in a drama land scenario. They're trying to get through life finding what they want and what makes them happy while balancing family and friends. It's a simple story, with fun twists and an engaging cast.

The first episode was the most painful pilot to watch: the men were simply terrible (not even the cool type of arrogant you get to see in so many dramas, where you get to see the guy's actual potential behind the surface. these characters were ridiculously foolish on top of acting like miserable jerks), and the women were depicted as all just desperately wanting to get married, with Joo Jang-Mi being a lovely exception because she actually really did love her boyfriend...and thus called him several hundred times since she refused to understand he was just avoiding her. The drama didn't get better in episode 2 nor 3, at which point I spent a few minutes on one of the following episodes and gave up. I'm still wondering what's worse: the male characters' total lack of personality and charisma or the women's pathetic lack of dignity. Even though Joo Jang-Mi does have a cute side to her (she turns out to be quite kind-hearted and not entirely useless and weak), this drama is still a waste my time. if you like smart characters with good chemistry, you'd better skip this drama.

HanGroo is gorgeous in that wedding dress it fits her fabulously! The hair and make up is just perfect! The kiss in the rain thrilled me! They wedding scene craziness is just "so them"! Yeon woo jin is just amazing as an actor! Cant forget the telecon with his mom, the crying, sobbing, speaks volume without uttering any words. That makes this series a jem to behold it has flaws (many actually esp the characters) but it has heart. It inspires may of its viewers to just respect trust and understand their loved ones. This drama is worth watching, all the actors made an excellent performance! Ywj and Hg are such adorable, funny, cute, "perfect couple" for a romcom! Congratulations, you have made us all smile, happy, inspired, thrilled and even giggled! Thank you Tvn for a great 16 episodes, more power!

Yeon Woojin must be a fantastic actor, because he's not my type at all, yet I completely fell for him in this drama. The main girl is a little bit annoying, i don't like her character, but that's just me personally i don't really like those types of girls. Definitely worth watching, I enjoyed every minute of it so far. :D

Sora Aug 09 2014 4:17 am some people are just to serious over thinking this drama kkk...this drama is fiction of course it is unrealistic, have you not watch historical drama like Gu Family Book or Arang and The Magistrate? those kind of drama even more unrealistic than this one, but i like it as much as i like this drama. You watch this kind of drama just because it is fun and you enjoy it. If you dont then just get over it. At least i enjoy watching 11 episodes this far. And Episode 11 is my favorite ^^ i really love Jang mi and Bon Hyang omoni XD daebak!! i even like "the eyes conversation between jang mi and ki tae" kkk....if you have this kind of conversation with your boyfriend you better marry him kkk....

Woojin oppa said he will give "dating dinner", Han Groo said she and woojin oppa will give free hug in gangnam, Sunhwa also said she will give free hug, Jungmin said he will change his hair color hehehe...sohee said she will give a free wedding picture for 5 fans. i hope they reach more than 5%. since ki tae start to falling in love with jangmi, everything will become more serious :D

Without eiquette these people feed on others food, stay at others houses not being a proper guest or following house rules... I am from an asian country too, but never see this but in korean drama!!!

J Jul 20 2014 4:03 pm From what I've seen in the first 6 episodes, it can pretty much explain as to why most of the characters are stiff on this one but it's not being delivered in one huge blow which is a big plus for me. The 1st five episodes are refreshing for me... It's kinda new and gives a different kind of excitement - Imagine having the 'prelude' on ep5(if memory serves me right), thought it's gonna be a heavy drama then it turned out to be a huge lol! I can't help but lol.

Mei Jul 20 2014 10:04 am I love this drama, despite the comedy (all the actor and actress are awesome), the writer put so many heartbreak story, all of them came from a broken family, ki tae, jang mi, yeo rum, even the spoiling brat hoon dong. althought the heartbreak story seems so serious but the director put it in hilarious way. This story seems cliche: pretending girlfriend, then falling in love and happy ever after but the way the actor, actress, the writer and the director wrap the story is so good. i just can not stop watching jang mi and ki tae (both of you, Han Groo and Yeon Woo Jin is seriously cute). i think ki tae need someone like jang mi who never give up in love, a loving person and a straight forwad yet not a hypocrite person.

There were white clothes, white doors, white or very lite walls, white towels and robes, white cushioned poolside lounges, and too many whitened-skin actors who used to be a beautiful bronze or olive complexion. Why are so many Asians preoccupied with their looks and skin color? What's wrong with their "Natural" beauty? Some of the actors are my favorites to watch. Just curious

It is up there with You're all surrounded, Goong, My love from another star, Empress Ki and Heartless City!! Defiantly going to be one of my all time faves!!! Hwaiiting!!

Everything make me laughing louder and louder!!!!!! My fave episode so far when Ki tae slipped and fallout in bathroom, buahahhahahhaha after story when Jang mi had to get piggybacking!!!!! Funnny!

daniela Jul 13 2014 11:47 pm I start watching "Marriage Not Dating" for Jinwoon and Yeon Woo Jin (love u boys :) but it's a very great drama actually hehe...I love that Han Groo the main role, and Han Sun Hwa plays even better than "God's Gift: 14 Days" which i thought it's impossible because she play great...Yoon So Hee is beautiful and innocent I think it's gonna end with Heo Jeong Min ;)

rskdrama Jul 12 2014 8:31 pm a predictable drama, yet fun! Woo-jin is such a good actor, have been seeing him from Kjakgyo brothers, then Aarang and now this. I saw HanGroo in Word hearts drama, she was just the same there as well natural; except when she runs around half bent, that's the only place I feel its a little too much, but then that is the directors need!! I have to wait another week for ep 5... waiting to know what will happen when the mother knows that Joo-Mi was Hoon-Doong's girlfriend...I saw Jin-Woon in dream high and now this drama. I am sure there a lot of his fans here, unfortunately I am not one of them. He is cute, but not my type, I guess....

sora Jul 12 2014 6:27 am I never see Han Groo or yeon woo jin but they are actually really good. i watch till 3 episode both of the lead male and female are so natural XD Kong Ki Tae is type of guy who i will smack on his face after i talk to him for 5 minutes lol oh and Jinwoon acting is better than seulong. one of my favorite drama this season along with King of High Shcool and Fated To loved you.

----watching the first episode, i hope this would not be a waste of time. Jang Mi is his friend's ex (Hoon Dong), well it is not bad that she will be Woo-Jin's partner because that really happens in real life, but my excitement suddenly dropped and lost my interest when they showed and stated that they(Jangmi and Hoon Dong) are even seeing in a hotel and they are already one year in a relationship. we are now in a modern world, but this is not what I am expecting whenever I watch a Korean drama and series,Korean always shows conservative side, well I i'll just look forward for their chemistry. crossed fingers hope i can still watch until the end.
