When Lee Hyo-Sim (Uee) was a child, her father left their family, which included her mother and two siblings. Seeing her mother with tears, Lee Hyo-Sim decided to be a good daughter. After graduating from high school, Lee Hyo-Sim got a job as a fitness trainer and began to support her family. Now, Lee Hyo-Sim works as a fitness trainer at a gym in Gangnam. She is still breadwinner of her family and devoted to them. Somehow, she begins to place herself first and try to have a life independently from her family. Her family also tries to become independent and stop living off Lee Hyo-Sim.

Meanwhile, Lee Hyo-Sim gets involved with Kang Tae-Ho (Ha-Joon). He is a director in the planning department of a large company. He is smart, confident, and a good looking man.

Ep.5 was originally scheduled to air on Sunday, October 1, 2023, but airing has been delayed by one week to Sunday, October 8, 2023. The one week delay is due to broadcasting of the 19th Asian Games.
Kim Kyu-Cheol has replaced actor No Yeong-Kuk as character Kang Jin-Bum. Actor No Yeong-Kuk passed away on September 18, 2023 due to a heart attack. Kim Kyu-Cheol’s filming began October 3, 2023 and he will appear from ep.8 on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

She isn't attractive enough to make two rich and hot guys chasing after her. Meanwhile the more attractive anchorwoman can't even get the attention from one man? Too absurd.

Not to mention that she steals money from one child to cover the foolish actions made by another child of her. This mother is unbearable, but Lee Hyo-Sim is the same for other reasons.

Hyo-Sim should just move out and see how far her mother and siblings would get, just shameful the way her mother expect her to do everything for her sons and nothing for her only daughter. The likes of ,daughter in law Hee joo together her rude brat daughter Ga young and Tae min's mother Sook hyang - her hair but the most unlikable charaters are the Old lady bldg owner Ggeut-Soon and the nosy Mi rim.

AL Nov 14 2023 1:38 am i think it is so ridiculous. hyo sim’s life is miserable and the family member are horible. on top of that they are man. hyo sim is the only daughter, which is the only woman except her mother which is terible. and she is like the pillar of the family but no one respect her and think that is her job to make money and ok to spent all her money. like hyo jun her brother is total scumbag! 10 years trying to pass the attorney examination but give her nothing in return but shame! it doesnt make sense anymore. i want to drop watching this! if it is wrapped in 17 episodes i will continue to watch, but if it is more than that i think i should drop it.

Combined with the cocktail dress. Fire...! Maybe her aura set the whole optic. Huge self-confidence indeed. She proclaims that I am this hot i could just tied my hair back and Iam fire..! Great respect to the stylists indeed.

Hans Nov 12 2023 1:13 am This drama is so main character coded, got that writer intended to highlight Hyosim as the main but it feels a little too much, imagine you can't like any single character in her family.

Wondering what made Uee keeps getting lead roles when her acting is just mediocre like this, maybe because she has starred in few hit drama so she got a good record?

The lowest rating is deserved because lead actress is not good, story is all over the place and main leads are miscast too. Better luck for Hajun next time if he gets to be the main lead again.

Rosalie Nov 06 2023 7:34 am Why do Korean dramas insist on making woman look so dumb and clueless? This series has a great cast but storyline is just okay and so so slow. Instead of a feel good positive drama we have women portrayed as either dumb or vicious. I hope it gets better. Waste of talent. And for those who think it is getting good viewership - it ain’t so. KBS week end dramas (which usually end up with anywhere from a 30% to 50% viewership) has steadily declined. A great cast with crappy writing does not make a good drama.

Ryunami Nov 05 2023 7:05 am This show has everything to make it a makjang drama; murder, kidnapping, forced situations, complex relationships, dramatic plot twists, cover-ups of illegal actions, blackmail, fabrication, and last but not least, the length of the drama is 50 episodes. Hopefully it will give a happy ending and justice to the good guys, like any good makjang show, too.

I fancy Ha-joon, and this is my first time seeing him as the male lead, so I'm going to give this drama a chance. So far, after ep. 12, Ha Joon is not disappointing. I also have fun watching the other exaggerating characters too ?

Fam Nov 04 2023 9:20 pm OMG, like when is she going to live her own life? at episode 45? 50? Damn, her family's too much. By the time she live for her own, she'll be looked at as if she's the ungrateful one because everyone's so dependent to her. That offering food to his brother just because he's the one studying, and then belittling her is so damn freaking annoying and I'm experiencing that now, that's why I'm probably invested. I cared for my parents more than my brothers but now when I decided to love myself a little bit more, I'm suddenly became the less favored child, I'd probably be the black sheep soon. I know this is a family drama, a weekend drama, they'll probably have reconciliation & happy ending but her family just don't deserve that.

He not in his early 40's, in his 30's and in mid 40 nor in late 40's. he is born on 1969. Whoever the writer is probably could not find anyone to played that part. His wife not all that young.

This type of soap opera is always like this and there are lots of fans too (you can see from the rating which always reaches 2 digits. This drama is not for you teenagers who like the type of drama with the story of a handsome rich man who suddenly likes a poor girl. This drama indeed for middle-aged, you might even be able to see some parodies of Korean dramas which always show Ahjumma gathering to watch dramas of this type.

Kim Sep 18 2023 2:05 pm I hope the storyline of the drama will be great going forward and won't be the typical plot we see in every drama. I see this drama getting a good rating as long as they keep a good storyline and good acting.

I think this is Uee's 2nd long family drama since Ojakgyo Brothers. I love her in OB so much, her chemistry with Joo Won was also great. OJ is where I also discovered Joo Won. I strongly recommend anyone to watch Ojakgyo Brothers., it had quite a high rating and was supposed to end on a lesser episode but ended up with 58 episodes due to its demand. The storyline was always refreshing and just a fun drama with 'drama' on the sides of course. It has the same feel to the shots and cinematography of Live Your Own Life. It is also where both Uee and Joo Won won the Best New Actress/Actor Award and from then on they got lots of good projects, especially for Joo Won.

I hope this drama will do well. I am not very familiar with the 2nd lead guy and saw the ML twice or thrice only as 2nd ml before but he already is acting his part well. Fighting for the cast and I hope Uee will get more drama/movies in the future with great plots.
