Lion's House is a hospice, located on a beautiful island. With their various backgrounds and personalities, people spend the last days of their lives at the hospice.

Shizuku (Kaho Tsuchimura) learned that she did not have much time left to live and decided to spend her last days at Lion's House. She arrives on the island by ferry. At the Lion's House, she meets manager Madonna (Kyoka Suzuki) and the residents. She also gets involved with Tahichi (Ryo Ryusei), who is a resident of the island.

Notes

Based on novel "Lion no Oyatsu" by Ito Ogawa (published October 10, 2019 by Poplar Publishing). The novel "Lion no Oyatsu" won second place at the 17th Japan Booksellers' Award in 2020.

Grandmalee Sep 01 2021 8:43 pm One of the very ill-produced drama series recently watched. Is it meant to showcase interesting views of terminally ill patients on death and dying? If so, it is an epic failure. What the Masato Wada character (played by Tomohiko Awatorisu), unlikable in every respect, wants to do before he dies, that is, to have a spectacular love affair, is completely disgusting and selfish, without concern for the surviving one. The so-called "snack" ritual every week is also forced and pretentious (none of the patients miraculously has a diet problem with sugar or carb, despite their serious conditions). The last two episodes drag agonizingly on and on, devoid of meaningful content. Kyoka Suzuki has a phony smile on all the time and an obviously fake wig of silver hair in two long braids that make her look spooky and suspicious, as if up to no good. What a disappointment!
