Sakura (Ryoko Shinohara) is a single 39-year-old woman. She works at a beauty salon as its vice manager. Sakura makes customers pretty, but she isn't interested in making herself pretty. She envies falling in love, but at the same time is afraid of falling in love. One day, at a party, Sakura meets Hiroto (Haruma Miura), who is much younger than Sakura. Hiroto is a bike rider and is attracted to Sakura.

Meanwhile, Rintaro (Naohito Fujiki) is a manager at beauty salon where Sakura works. Rintaro likes making biting remarks, drinking alcohol and using his scissors.

Annie Mar 28 2021 7:59 pm I tried to watch this drama but my impression when I saw the female lead makes me annoy she looks old then I search her on Google I am not surprise when I saw the age gap it's 17 years, that's y she looks old.. the story looks good but I don't think I can watch this,well much better if they choose young looking girl just saying

Sure, there were parts of the reviews that I agree like how did the young man actually liked her. The show didn't show that connection and I also agree that Tachibana should kinda end up with the main girl too hehe (as much as I like Haruma).

There might be flaws but I think it's definitely not a bad show to try to watch!

I get you a lot. When the drama aired, they actually had an audience vote before the last episode about who she should end up with. Hiroto won. The actual votes afterwards showed Rintaro should've been with her. Even though I like Haruma, I like Fujiki Naohito and his chemistry with Ryoko more. It made more sense between the two.

Dana Nov 19 2018 12:49 pm I did not like this show at all. I don't understand how the main lead female was anything interesting. She was sloppy and uninteresting. They did everything possible to make this girl unattractive and she was. I don't see the appeal at all. She could have brushed her hair sometimes but it just always ended up looking like a rat's nest. For a hair dresser, they could have done better with her appearance. I wasn't a fan of the younger man/could have been her son romance. I didn't see the connection at all. I know he was faking it but why he was into her at the end? I don't get it. She was absolutely uninteresting when they were together. She had more of a connection with the manager but of course, that would have made too much sense. Once the "romance" phase is over, what else is there going to be? Break up? Divorce?

Jennifer Mar 20 2017 1:46 pm The popularity of this drama escapes me. I get that the leads are physically attractive, and I have enjoyed Ryoko and Naohito in other dramas. And Haruma looks like a manga drawing. But the characters were unlikeable--tacky and vulgar. I tried to enjoy it as a broad comedy but just sort of leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. Way overrated.

Andres Mar 12 2016 7:16 am This will be the must see movie of 2015 for adults and children both. People of that kingdom were leading a peaceful life which wass full of prosperity. Dissney movies also tend to capture our hearts because they prove that dreams can come true.

Selena Mar 19 2015 3:56 pm I decided to watch Last Cinderella because Haruma Miura was is it and I just finished watching The Hours of My Life. He was really good in it so I decided to see what else he was in. At first, I wasn't sure I was going to like Last Cinderella, but it's very entertaining. I haven't finished it yet, I'm just about done with the 10th episode and I don't know how I want it to end! Sakura would be great with Hiroto or Tachibana. Usually I can tell who the main character is going to end up with because it's usually a no brainer, or I can at least pick who I know I want to the main character to be with, but I couldn't with this show.

Hiroto, yes while young, did end up having feels for her. And sure, it started with a lie but I can name many other story line where the love all started with a lie or a bet or something of that sort, and it all ended up fine. It's a classic and cheesy, "unexpected love" story. But Tachibana's just so cute about liking her, because it's the average "I hate you" denial love. I cheer for both... It's the only way... I have to refrain from looking at any of the comments below for the fear of spoilers...

Either way, it's a good show and I'm glad I took the time to watch it.

Chiyochan Feb 11 2015 7:39 pm Tbh, I really don't like Hiroto and Chiyoko. I was really rooting for Rintaro and Sakura instead... (T_T) but I guess... It didn't work out properly. I still hated Hiroto even when he Changed. I know it's stubborn of me but Sakura and Rintaro fit perfectly together.

Still, I think she needed to get a little punishment something like involving in love triangle with Sakura's incapable brother. Like most commentors said below, the story was super kawaiiii and I can't wait to another series of Last Cinderella maybe filming in NY where Tachibana San will work ? I don't know. That will be interesting.

Jdramafun Jan 14 2015 11:19 pm Perfect happy ending !!! I can't wait the producer makes the sequel of this drama. By just looking at title of this drama there's something attracted me. I naturally hit the play button, ever since then, I could not stop watching this drama not for a minute. Previously, I liked to watch mischievious kiss in Tokyo which is another famous j-drama, but compared to last Cinderella that is way more creative story and fun to watch. What was the most amusing and amazing part to watch this drama is the two interesting unmatching main characters. Sakura and Hiroto, my two favorites! I secretly wished they ended up together from episode 1. But that wasn't all about this drama; it was fun to watch all the side stories around their friends and families. I laughed so hard when sakura's fitness trainer friend picked a dorkiest looking guy by doing rock, paper, scissor. Please so mr producer listen and make another episode of this drama for people like me who enjoyed it so much :-)

dramafanatic Jan 09 2015 10:55 am I am so happy Hiroto and Sakura ended up being together! I would have been pissed if the writers made me fall in love with Hiroto and then not get the girl. That means that he also would've never won the competition, his dad would've given up on him, and he'd be struggling trying to make a living with a broken heart and a family that doesn't accept him. Bam. I can't believe I even thought that far. Tachibana, on the other hand, had New York. So, regardless, he can just start over again. Although, I do have to admit that I was sad for him and was secretly wishing he would fall in love with Chiyoko (even if it was out of pitty.. how horrible of me). It would've also let the show last an episode longer... and there would've been enough air-time to see them on their wedding day and what they ended up doing in the future due to their age gap. Would their parents even allow it?!?! Maybe the producers were afraid of dragging it out even more...None the less, this was a great show.

Stupidly i still continue to watch this dorama hoping sakura is going to end up with tachibana. I wonder what happens here, cause i thought all the scenes are leading to tachibana (even on the opening song where there was a hand holding a glass shoe, those were tachibana's hand). Can we please have anoher ending where sakura & tachibana got together? Well, if its not, tachibana will still available for grabs right ;)

Last Cinderella Fan Apr 28 2014 2:31 am I thought I saw somewhere that there may be a Season Two. I hope its a continuation of Sakura & Hiroto's relationship. Or even if they ran this series like I NEED ROMANCE SERIES would be nice too!

I choose Hiroto over Tachibana because Hiroto puts a lot of efforts for Sakura. his love is growing as time goes by. Hiroto doesn't deserve to get hurt :-( yes from the begining Hiroto was just being asked by Choko to pretend getting attracted to Sakura. but I think we should not consider it as a big deal because Hiroto has so much changed. and he's getting serious with his feeling towards Sakura. I want to see more of it .....sooner.I like that it shows that men have similar fears as they age....just as women do.
