A murder takes place. Hong Yi-Young (Kim Se-Jeong), who is a timpanist, does not remember what happened on the day of the murder. She is simple-minded and suffers from insomnia. Hong Yi-Young looks for a job. She happens to meet Jang Yoon (Yeon Woo-Jin). He is bad at singing, but is a pianist in an orchestra. To help with Hong Yi-Young's insomnia, Jang Yoon calls her every night. They try to find the truth about the murder.

Meanwhile, Nam Joo-Wan (Song Jae-Rim) is an orchestra conductor. He has charisma and showmanship. Ha Eun-Joo (Park Ji-Yeon) is a violinist in the orchestra. She is arrogant.

Erika Jan 10 2021 6:48 am Why the plot is really looks like manga/novel titled: Conductor (Kaminaga Manabu)? idk this drama is good or not, but the from the synopsis and cast is similar. The different is in manga the male main character is not pianist but psychiatrist that help the female lead (in manga she is flutist), but well i think only some part thats same.

I know he was supposed to act mysterious the first half of the show to throw off viewers but his pacing was all weird and made his character incredibly unlikeable up until the last few scenes. Even in the behind the scenes it looks like he just gave up. Meanwhile, Sejeong's acting her heart out in spite of the awful writing and lackluster male lead. Both the writing and YWJ's acting really left a sour taste in my mouth. They should've made Song Jae Rim the male lead, at least he has more charisma.

I fallen in love with Yeon Woojin since Priest. It was first time watching his drama and his acting skill very very good!! After Priest i marathonning all his drama. And i love this drama very much. I think Yeon Woojin has great chemistry with Sejeong. And Sejeong also did a great job with the character. I think they need something sweet in the last episode. At least a hug between Jang Yoon and Yi Yong..

I don't blame the actress, I'm a fan of Park Hyesu since Age of Youth and I acknowledge Sejeong's acting in School 2017 and I dare to give her applause. But just like WHYYY they should be paired with YWJ ... I know it's good to try some new and challenging roles but it will alwas looks forced if they don't even have at least similar basic vibes... Like there's a gap... Even with that baby-face he has YWJ mature aura is strong too, as he getting old and older like now so I think matured-aura actress like Park Minyoung and Jung Yoomi are suits him most.

Then midway something happened and it just dragged... and dragged... and everyone was constantly crying. Pacing was terrible, but the acting was regretfully very good. Yeon Woo-jin is fantastic as always, and Sejeong’s acting was decent - more like a rookie actress than an idol. But how their relationship was handled and when the plot twists & details were revealed were always off. This drama suffers from a really bad script, so be prepared if you REALLY want to watch this. If you could afford to watch something else, do not hesitate to do so.

lrt Oct 31 2019 1:03 pm 9 out of 10 for me....it's all about getting to the bottom of a brothers murderer not so much about romance. It is well written and Yeon Woo-Jin does a great job. The other main actors are new for me but I give it a thumbs up. Didn't feel the way other reviewers felt.

I kept saying to myself why is she so damn stupid most of the time and if not for Yeon Woo-Jin and Song Jae-Rim, I would probably drop this drama after few episodes.

Neverland Sep 28 2019 8:50 pm To be brutally honest, one of the factors for the failure of this drama is -- Kim Sejeong's acting couldn't match with Yeon Woojin and Song Jaerim. Jiyeon did pretty good for her role but even that was a lackluster compared to both male leads. The PD and writer should've choose a suitable actors for the roles. Sejeong is really great in School 2017 but I guess she just ain't ready for significant/deep role yet. Yeon Woojin is an establish actor who's known for his great acting so obviously the other casts couldn't match their pace with him. Secondly, the writer is a joke. This drama failed to draw attention is because too much filler and boring plot. It started out quite nice but later on, the storyline kept getting predictable and no plot twist. The only thing that make me stay till the end is the behind-the-scene's videos lol Sejeong and Woojin had more chemistry off-camera than on camera.. I actually think that it will be good if Yiyoung's role goes to Han Jimin or Kim Taeri. Sejeong looks too young for the role though (I'm not fond Kim Sejeong as an actress but I really like her as an idol singer)

I Love Kdrama Sep 25 2019 12:05 am @Hcjccu, I think he only suspected her. As they get along, he realised that she is a very kind-hearted gal, even I also do not believe that she will kill Ian. There are many kdrama whereby the lead couple was always arch enemies at first, just like a cat and a mouse, but later on still fall in love with each other....for example, YWJ's another drama "Divorce Lawyers in Love" (the lead couple hated each other so much at first)....LOL...but I think this would only happen in dramaland, seldom in reality, cos if we hate that person we would avoid him/her at all costs, unless you have fate with that person and keep meeting him/her or being in the same company etc, and you have no chance to be apart from that person.

I like the 2 male leads here, the other 2 females leads were of average here...1st lead gal was too naive and weak kind, while the lead gal was overly too arrogant, she's like almost an extra for this drama...As for the plot, they dragged too much on this mystery...there is no twist at the end, the culprit was as what viewers already know way before (either Prof Kang or Nam Jo Wan), so there's no surprise or whatsoever at the ending....along the way they dragged the murder case too much that can caused viewers to lose their interest very fast...if not for my fav charming lead guy YWJ, I would have give up on this show long time ago....

It was like the antagonists has already calculated their moves. I watched this because of Kim Sejong but I'm so disappointed with her role here. The people are dumb especially the security personnel like why do you give the locker key to a stranger? It was an overdramatic plot on the last 5 episodes. It's too frustrating how the character Yiyoung was written. Although the first few episodes are good but the last five episodes are annoying.

Char Sep 16 2019 1:55 pm I guess it must be my age, but this is one of the best dramas I’ve seen, I look forward to seeing this girl in many more dramas, I think that they’re acting shows a great chemistry, and of course the young man is a great actor and I look forward to seeing many of his dramas. It does indeed keep my interest there are many of us who are older who are enjoying this drama very much and I know that as a fact. I would like to commend all the actors, and I would like to thank them for bringing such great entertainment these days when it’s so hard to find for some of us, and I mean all the actors! But again it must be my age being 60 I see the picture as a whole, and I want to see more from them all in the future!

Bella Sep 02 2019 4:04 pm - The story never interested me in the beginning, however, I began to watch just to see Song Jae-rim. - I only made it up to episode 13 because it failed to keep my interest. I will only be keeping up to see who killed Ian/Yi-an. - Kim Sanggyun's appearance melted my heart; I wasn't expecting him to appear. I love him so much. - The male lead isn't charismatic to me and doesn't feel like male lead material in this drama (although he was very good in different projects I've seen him in). - I still can't get behind Sejeong's acting. I hope she will improve in the future.

I know they want to make Sejeong more mature than her previous teen drama, the style that suits her only when scene in her house. the parts when he is singing - OMG. i almost died when he "nailed" "One man" by KJK. I bet KJK almost died when he saw it too.this is what a real talent at singing falsely is :D and at times he is really creepy. like a real stalker or to be killer. brrr... his acting really got improved a lot ;)

i am really curious who the killer is and the reason behind it. i cant wait to get all the answers I want.

btw the scene with the thief :D the best of all :D it was really hilarious to see those two running and hitting the guy :D

definitely this drama is worth watching ;)

It should late 2 or 3 second so the the viewer can catch up what's happening.

You could have like only 5 mins of screen appearances per episode yet if your character is written real good and you rock it,shall they be showstopping moments that people still would talk about but if the character is just annoying type despite being the most important character in the drama, strong criticisms would stillcome non-stoppingly no matter what. I believe Ji Yeon chose this project because it enticed her characterwise. Let's just hope for the best.
