Mark_ Nov 27 2013 3:56 pm I loved this beautiful film. Prudes may object but the acting was excellent and the human feeling rang true to life. It is a profound film about human loneliness and the need for genuine love, however fleeting, in a cold, and dehumanizing society.

This movie makes a profound statement about human loneliness, in general, and in Japan, in particular. The sex in the movie is a feeble and failed attempt to overcome that loneliness and spiritual alienation.
