Sung Deok-Mi (Park Min-Young) works as a curator at an art gallery. She is a huge fan of idol group member Shi-An and secretly runs a fan website about him. Because of her affection for Shi-An, she has experienced several personal break-ups. Sung Deok-Mi now focuses only her job and doing activities as Shi-An's fan in her private life. One day, Ryan (Kim Jae-Wook) begins work as the new director of the art gallery where Sung Deok-Mi. He was once a famous painter, but he does not paint anymore. Ryan doesn't have much interest in other people, but he happens to learn that Sung Deok-Mi is a fan of Shi-An and runs his fan website. Ryan takes an interest in Sung Deok-Mi.

Tigerbaby Jan 03 2023 12:10 am Love this drama! One of a handful of Kdrama I have watched. Can't get enough of the chemistry between Park Min-Young & Kim Jae-Uck. Very convincing as a couple. Even the behind the scenes videos shows the strong chemistry between them. It is as if they are truly a couple. Have watched a few Park Min-Young's drama and she is truly excellent in Rom Com. First time watching Kim Jae-Uck, He is truly a great actor to watch. His eyes and facial expressions, changes so distinctly and natural. Strange to find him in not too many productions considering the number of years he is in the business. Definitely an understated yet gifted actor. Hope to see more Kdramas from him and Movies.

I love watching Asian drama and usually enjoy the storylines but romantic kissing scenes are always Super awkward. This is the very first drama that was perfectly executed. The kissing was natural and they seemed so comfortable. Both actors did a wonderful job in their roles! Ryan’s character is totally believable. I know plenty of people that are commanding and serious at work and then a little more immature in their private life. That is the title of the drama. Ryan’s inner child starts showing as the drama progresses because he starts to get to know his love interest a little more. He is hesitant and unable to express himself in the early episodes because he’s being cautious. Coincidences are what makes Asian drama fun. This drama was such a fun one to watch. I hope they get cast together again!

Conor Jun 29 2022 1:58 pm Good parts and bad parts. Some very frustrating elements. Fangirl element is really fun and interesting. Park Min-Young as Doek-Mi plays a wonderful role as a fangirl and as a woman in love. Superb acting. Kim Jae-Wook is less believable as the Director. His character is inconsistent. Commanding and mature at one moment, next moment he is totally immature and unable to express his feelings through the first 9 episodes. Perhaps its the script writers or perhaps its him. Maybe hes just there for his good looks. A final critique I have is definitely the plot. The initial concept is fun and entertaining. But then the scriptwriters decide to try and add plot twists. Seriously, how stupid do they think we all are. They introduce a series of impossible coincidences. The 2 main leads meet at an auction in China. Then they meet again in the airport and he knocks her off a ladder. Then he is the new director at her museum. Then he ends up living above a brother he never knew he had and of course he runs into his long lost mother in his apartment building. To cap it off, when he got separated from his mother as a child, it was Doek-mi's mother who found him and traumatically abandoned him outside an orphenage. How ridiculous. This series of impossible coincdences ruin the entire series with their implausibility.

I first saw Kim Jae Wook in Coffee Prince and to be honest, I love his looks more than Gong Yoo (no offense to his fans). He is a great actor specially when he played the villain role in Voice.

A versatile actor indeed! Saranghae oppa!!! I will continue on supporting you.

But it s great to watch occasionally also something good but light. The lead actors top acting! Both gorgeous looking, great performance and what a chemistry!! It s joyable to watch. Kim Jae Wook was a charismatic actor, sexy, elegant. First time i saw his acting here and it was an instant crush. I really love him. A competitor to the looks of Hyun Bin! 10/10 series!!

If they spoke Korean and show English on the subtitles...but spoke English - where are the subtitles? The main characters , were Very impressive , good looking , good romantic actors , Kim Jae wook however was a shade better , sexier Over all loved the total cast . The script , The two main characters , park min young, at the beginning episodes , I keep wondering how some other actress will fit in her role , she was a little stiff as the curator , somehow her elegance and beauty was did not fit her as a girl fan, and even when she met her idol in person , her reaction to him was not natural, a fan will always become excited seeing an idol, even inwardly . So at times her facial reaction to certain situations did not fit the moments . However when her adult character became more prominent she seemed to develop that character and become more believable . Meanwhile I totally believed Kim Jae wook , was actually a Korean adapted artist from USA , with a sad past , he was perfect in his portrayal of famous artist with a passive obsessive character. Well done A minor point , the script gave too much freedom to the office underlings ,in their relationship with the director, very unlike Korean, it was not natural . I thought the kissing scene were overwhelming beautifully written , acted and directed. Bravo Overall the total script was excellent , everything else was beautifully written , even adding positive scenes from Buddhist and christian faiths ,unlike the latest trend in Korean dramas copying Hollywood , such as - Mine- the new drama , that uses violence and guns scenes associated with religion .

Lisa Jul 20 2021 8:18 pm I loved this kdrama and I have seen a lot of kdramas. Happy ending with moments that made me laugh out loud. There are some quirky, goofy parts but the kissing scenes were so romantic, you can't help but want to date Kim Jae-Wook as he will have your heart fluttering in every episode. Secondary characters were delightful - I binged the whole drama in 3 days because I was enamored with Kim Jae-Wook's beauty and romantic presence - he was completely dreamy throughout the whole drama.

The beginning was cluttered with an abundance of scenes about wild fan behavior which I experienced as obnoxious. Once the narrative took shape it engaged me. Something different was the amount of time and space that the script gives to the main characters lives once they fall in love.

I also love the way PMY explains her interpretation towards the art. But it’s true that this drama have too much coincidences. The most annoying thing for me is her die brother and when it turns out she has an amnesia. Some plot-twists in this drama is came out of nowhere. But the chemistry between PMY and KJW is great and the good side of their relationship is their mature way of thinking. At first I’m not sure to watch it, but I finished this drama in only 2 days because overall I enjoyed it!

It managed to stay interesting even though it excluded some of the typical cliches/ "plot twists" that grab the audiences attention usually- like the dramatic breakups. However, it's definitely a more feel good show and may not be the most interesting for some people (I read some of the previous reviews). I wouldn't call it boring or hard to watch though because I actually binged the majority of this kdrama. And not to mention the amazing chemistry. Omg. I felt so single, but so happy for them at the same time :')

Anyways, as you can tell I really enjoyed this drama and I highly recommend watching it.

I mean I enjoy the chasing, the adorable bickering, but when the couple finally got together I just lost interest. But for Her Private Life I Didn't!!! Their hugs, holding hands, and all those romantic scenes seems so real to the point where I kind of envy them?!! I don’t know why, but I feel like it’s the first ever romcom drama that I love this much and gave me these butterflies feelings in my stomach :) ?

Lastly, the chemistry between KJW and PMY is just—one of the best! If you don’t believe me, just watch the behind the scenes, you won’t regret it! There’s a lot of ad libs made by PMY and KJW that make it to the final cuts❤️

Even though the story line is predictable and common, I like how they made Ryan & Deok Mi relationship seems so mature, it shows how they really got each other’s back, no lingering misunderstanding, unnecessary jealousy or break up. Also both of the characters are reallly one of a kind! They tries to understand one another, Ryan doesn’t mind apologising or thanking DM first and she knows that and thankful for that. It’s also not the rich male and poor female love story. I feel like they’re in the same pace, they both rich in their on way. They both pursuing their dreams & supporting each other’s. I Love That!!

KJW become more charming and perfect description (for me) of an ideal man in reality.. He looks stern but his heart is soft and fragile.. Tbh.. He is not as astonishing like park seo joon but he has this charisma that makes your head turn and get stun.. Love them both PMY and KJW.. Hope to see KJW in other kdrama romcom type.. Keep on shining PMY and KJW

It really is heartwarming kind of slow relationship romcom. Although I still dont understand why Park Min Young would star in it. And oh, Kim Jae Wook, you played such a villain in Voice and here. Well, I guess that's the matter of taste. Still, worth to watch, but totally far from best dramas. Story is kind of unoriginal. Some moments however are fun and good. If it's one of your first kdramas, watch. If you watched plenty of them (like 20 or 30), you probably wont Enjoy it as much as some do there in the comments.

They are really good at their roles and the casting of Kim Mi-Kyung as PMY mother, oh I was surprised since she was also the mother of PMY in Sungkyunkwan Scandal. She always done a very impressive acting as a mother.

PMY fan Sep 20 2020 12:13 am For the first two episodes of this drama, it was fun and interesting to watch, PMY acting always been great, however, as the story goes, the succeeding episodes, went boring and I hardly finish the whole drama, if it really wasn't for PMY I wouldn't finish it. Realizations comes to mind, when the latter part revolves around the life of Ryan Gold, so the title should've been "His Private Life" hahaha. LOL. Chemistry is a meh in the drama itselft, however it is a bit confusing watching their BTS, their acting seems pretty natural than in the drama itself.

One thing that was AMAZING about this drama was the kiss scene. Can all korean dramas learn something from this scene, it was not awkward, there was chemistry and they actually did it like adults and not high school kids.

If you want something light but not that interesting or captivating look no further. This drama may be for you.

KJW is a perfect fit for the character Go Dong Mae, not to mention his Japanese skills as the character is a Japanese samurai. I love the storyline. It's simple yet real and the chemistry between PMY and KJW is really off the charts.

Mark Jun 12 2020 11:31 am I will have to say 2 thumbs up to this series! It's very entertaining and the lead actors are well immersed in their roles. I've found myself laughing so hard and in tears also especially during the episode when Ryan visited Doek Mi at her penthouse when he has to cry. The support characters and OST are outstanding as well. I have read negative reviews despite Park Min-young being the lead. probably because they prefer younger or more popular actors actors like Park Seo Joon or Ji Chang Wook that they decided that this is just a "meh" drama. But I have to say Kim Jae Wook is perfect for the role. My only problem though are the product placement. Haha!

The actors were good but the writing was just so terrible. There were too many coincidences, and yes, I know it's a kdrama but it got to an absurd point where it wasn't realistic at all. Oh, that guy from the auction in America? Turns out he's your new boss! And your long lost childhood friend! And the lost older brother of ur favorite celebrity! That artists work you're exhibiting was made by your favorite celebrity's mom! Who's also your boyfriends mom! And your mom took care of your boyfriend when you guys were younger and abandonded him! Also what was with the amnesia story near the end of the show omg, came out of left field as a plot point in the last couple of episodes and was super random. Anyways, I think you get my point. If you can get over the cliche writing and just focus on the romance and chemistry of the actors then I think this drama could be bearable for you, but it wasn't at all for me. 3/10

getting hype for dramas May 08 2020 3:24 am Hi! i’m a fan of korean dramas even if prefer crimes and thrillers more, but actually i enjoyed watching this. i surely laugh because of the cliche and silly things that going on the museum (especially on eps 1-5), but i feel like it’s kinda basic. i don’t feel the story line is THAT good / awesome, but i also fall in love with park minyoung and also kim jaewook. not everyone will agree with my opinion but i just love their chemistry. IF the story line was a little bit well and had a good thoughts about it, i would give it a huge love for it. but it turns out that i could give it only 7 or 8 out of 10. i like it, no, i even love it, but the plot is not my type of dramas.

It’ll be good if they got paired again and got a huge great story (still with the funny things and enjoyable), i’ll absolutely watch it. Thumbs up for the writer, director, and also all actor and actress. Have a good day everyone ☀️

They act like it is real or even they know each other well. Moreover, the emotional scenes are also touchy. I really feel their feeling between them. She's so beautiful here but they wasted her talent. I like Kim Jae Wook in Temperature of Love, but idk why i really don't like him in this drama.. just didn't fits with PMY (imo). 1/5

The thing I like the most about this serious is the coordination of the story. It flows accordingly and each episodes was exhibited with relevance every time a certain revelation. They were able to successfully pull off a great plot diagram that wasn't emotionally dragging and quirky enough to give the right emotions to their audience. What amazed me the most is that this Korean drama even showed an emphasize to the Art industry, that this is also a hard job to do and the challenges these artists conveys. They introduce different job descriptions and this is what makes this Korean Drama valuable compared to other story lines. Also, the chemistry of the lead actors were topnotch and I have seen tons of Korean Love Teams, they are foremost the best love team I have ever watched. They we're able to make us feel different emotions by just their eyes and even their physical contact creates realistic desires that can influence the viewers attention. It seems like I was invading their privacy in each scene that they we're making love. Art is subjective and we all have different taste, I have been very choosy with the Kdrama I watch and I evaluate them every time. I liked "Her private life" the most maybe because this also shows realism and it is more likely the type of living I would attain in the near future. Overall, the drama was indeed something valuable and should be promoted. It's very unique, not all dramas would think of a concept just like this. It shows us the side of being a fan and being an artist, in relation to emotions these lifestyle can give to a person. It has a lot of morals I can't put in one emotion and this is exactly what the whole series made me feel. One of my favorite quotes from the drama is when Duk-mi said "No matter how invaluable I am, I am greater than all these condescending artworks hung up on the wall, because I am a human being and I'll continue living" this just shows the contrast characters that Duk-mi and Yun-Jae shared that helped their character developed. I think it was a great choice picking Park Min-Young and Kim Jae-Wook, the actors are the instruments of a great drama and they were just engaging, showing realistic emotions all throughout the whole season. There's a lot of things I would like to talk about this drama and this is the first time that it made me write it out through a review. Thank you to the production for producing this drama. This helped me create a high standard to the value or art, admiration and love.

I was wondering what I should show her first, and I instinctively reached out for "Her Private Life". Boy, was I right! My friend immediately got hooked, and she pestered me the next evening to watch more episodes. And before leaving for her country, she wrote down the title of the drama, and even took a picture of its Asianwiki page! I remember that, back when I reviewed "Her Private Life" after it finished airing, I made a lot of praises, but also a few criticisms. One year later, I would like to take back any criticism I made. My instinctive choice and my friend's reaction prove me that "Her Private Life" is a truly complete masterpiece and easily the best romantic comedy of 2019.

nalimo Jan 06 2020 8:00 pm It's a fun drama with good actors, one thing that bug me is the representation of the fans, from one side they're representing very correctly but on the other they're making it seem like toxic fan traits are normal in their industry, wich might be the case for many but it's disgusting and sad for many fans who aren't like that yet they're being representing in that light. Even I formed a thought like "ahh korean fans are so toxic and scary" after watching that then I had to remind myself that they were a minority. I believe there are many korean fans who doesn't think relationships as scandals and an idol should sell romance to them and support their faves. I sometimes hope my faves would get lovers so we can clean whoever in the fandom with toxic hopes, of course they should stay safe first.

I have watched a number of series with a romance genre, although I prefer thriller, but the characters here were too self centered and it became really all about themselves and they started neglecting those around them. It shouldn't be that way, I got tired of watching both characters all obsessed with themselves and I really wonder why their friends still "wait for them" just cause they're the main characters.

J Jing Dec 16 2019 3:29 am just finished it. dang i had a rly good time on this drama. romance was rly nice. jae wook looking good as f**k too :^). a thing i found strange is nobody says a thing about his good looks at least i dont remember. this is like the 5 drama i've seen in like 8 days or it was a week. and gotta say this one got way more kisses than the others. and the actor's were rly good doing the job xD. tho there were some problems here and there it didn't take to long to get solved. so it was a rly nice story. happy ending as well i'd recommend for anyone

I liked the leads but realistically, her adoptive brother had a way more interesting storyline in that it would have been cuter in my opinion if he was the main lead. He knew her better and even if some people found him 'pathetic' (like her annoying best friend) he realistically showed the problems he faced with in confessing his feelings for her. At least the cinematography was nice and the love scenes were done pretty well. Although it was okay, I wouldn't recommend it for someone who likes a heavy plot that is well thought out.

It wasn’t revolutionary, but all the characters were fully fleshed out, there were no “bad guys”, and everyone had a resolution to their storyline. The chemistry between the main leads was so sweet and very sexy. Mostly, I appreciated how this drama was progressive without highlighting it or patting itself on the back. Of course, there were some things that I wouldve liked to see (Ryan’s adoptive parents, the director slapping the heroine, etc), but were probably omitted for the sake of storyline.

Overall, I loved it. It was sweet, fun, had a good soundtrack, and the main characters were attractive and lovely.

I love how they focus on the main lead mature, romantic and lovely love story without any makjang content to which make me calmly enjoy the whole story. The fangirl life of Sung Deok Mi is relatable and hilarious. Highly recommended for those trying to avoid makjang dramas and to enjoy laughing. Kim Jae Wook handsome face with awesome acting is a bonus!

I like the acting, I like the characters and actors here but, the story ugh doesn't have to be dragging, too many filler scenes. I feel like this could be done by ep 12. Imagine organizing a charity event made us, viewers, wait for ep 16 (??), where it could be done in an earlier episodes then maybe the mother could be inserted in an earlier episodes too where conflict may arise. I don't know.. this only my opinion and preference. No wonder there were low ratings.

Same goes to the obsessive fans I know she must have felt sorry because they are Minors but seriously they assaulted her she should at least agreed that those Psycho Fans should go under community service. 2. the Obsessive fans are displaying disturbing behaviors like Stalking, Physically hurting because their Idol is dating someone & Extensive buying instead of saving their Money don't get me wrong am also a fan but not with this level am extremely worried that same crazed fans will follow this kind of behavior. 3. the shower scene of Eun-Ki was OVERKILL & IT WAS NOT REALLY NECESSARY just to boast the Ratings.

Would she egg someone if she thinks they are so justified? I understand the show wants to show fangirls in a positive light but these fangirls were out of hand and violent. I don't think their actions were justified. I can't finish a drama - no matter how entertaining - that has a female lead I can't respect.

However there were moments where it felt a bit like i was watching "Whats wrong with Secretary Kim" again, the flashbacks and all. its a nice watch but not wow, I could rewatch the love moments the 2 spent but not rewatch the drama.

In this drama I didn't feel any chemistry between the main leads. I tried to finish it till the end hoping that maybe by the next episode it will get better but no. Pham Jun 16 2019 5:21 am what a generous guy to give 8/10 for only the supporting casts on a drama heavly promoted on Main Lead Chemistry. Plus, this drama doesn't have side character's arc. The total screen times without one of the main leads is two hours at most. It's like 10% of the whole drama. Giving 8 for 10%?? Don't get me wrong. I love most of the charcaters here. Of all the supporting cast, only Sindy and her mom have hugh character development. Again, it's just within small screentimes. This is not a bad drama, also not a perfect one either. However, I have a feeling the writing team is struggling for whole 16 episodes. Seems like they are running out of ideas to develop. I don't know who to blame, director or writers for the suspense elements of the drama. They tried to add but can't sell it. Love the way how they touch the LQBT issue in No Suk cabin and potraying relationships. For those who love romcom, you should give it a try. Hey KJW's fan out there, you can come cheer for him now. No more SLS, he finally got the girl. Most of the people who said they can't feel the main lead's chemistry are: 1. who thought KJW is ugly, unpopular guy, 2. who think PMY is only for Vice President There still other reasons but most of the time above two.

raj Jun 15 2019 10:23 am first time leaving a review on asianwiki cos mixed reviews about this drama!! didn’t feel the chemistry b/w the leads sadly and this made their countless kiss scenes really awkward. but love how this drama had a very light plot and only had up and downs towards the end but i also felt like aft ep 8 it started to get a lil draggy. but what made this drama was the supporting casts!! loved every single character and how they portrayed their roles. everyone had an interesting personality. loved loved loved the character of director eom so hye so much it kept me going til the end of the drama cos she’s so extra and i loved it!!!! and (minor spoiler) loved how kim hyo jin and nam eun gi became a couple i stanned their ship way harder than the actual leads HAHA

all i can say is you should definitely give a drama a go - but for the supporting cast rather than the actual leads. but yet again, park min young has proved herself as the ultimate girlfriend material!! and the ending got me feelings all kinds of ways :-) 8/10

cel Jun 10 2019 7:17 pm i binged watched the entire series in a day because the chemistry was just so so so good between the two leads! i do think that minyoung's character is pretty similar to her secretary one but she does it well and it meshes with the male lead amazingly. i'm also happy that instead of dragging out the romance, they got together early which gave us a lot of really cute scenes of them together and more room for them to work on the plot. it's a refreshing change from how usual kdrama couples don't get together until the last freaking episode.

One of the standout moral value that we can get from this drama is ; FANGIRLING is not wrong as long as you don't neglect your own family and your own life. Don't make it as the only source of your happiness. And most important thing about this drama is the existence of Mr. Ryan Gold!!! He's freaking amazing!! Probably the best male lead that have ever exist in Kdrama

I can now officially and proudly say that i am a fan of Kim Jae Wook... He was absolutely amazing in this drama! Park min young was stunning as always and played the role of curator Sung really well..... The rest of the cast did a wonderful job in making this drama a pleasant journey... Kim sun yeong who played the role of eom so hye is such an amazing and versatile but underrated actress.... The chemistry between the leads was too good... My stomach did somersaults every time Ryan and Deok Mi kissed! I wish this drama did not have to end.... It was a wonderful and memorable journey! Definitely a 9 out of 10...

Sung Deok-mi grew up in Korea. Yet when they speak English, why does he have a much heavier accent than she does?

The little boy that portrayed DM's friend's son is adorable and a scene stealer. Though this drama will probably not win awards by any stretch of the imagination, it is still worth your time.

On the bright side, the starting story was flawless, and the Sung Deok-Mi character absolutely amazing in complexity and depth as she was simultaneously a secret fan, a conscious art curator, a failed artist, and a lover. On the dark side, around episode 12, the main focus shifted from Sung Deok-Mi to Ryan, and the Ryan character just didn't have the same originality: he was an abandoned child, struggling with his past, and his story allowed little space for comic relief. I feel the pain of viewers who lost some of their interest in the drama because of this shift. Nonetheless, "Her Private Life" was objectively the best drama during all of its airing, and its bright side maybe wouldn't have been as bright without its dark shadows. So, congratulations to the whole crew of "Her Private Life" for their fantastic work and particularly to Park Min-Young, who delivered an unforgettable performance!

HPL May 31 2019 7:43 am This is definitely one of the most heartwarming dramas I've watched. It's sweet and surely romantic! I really liked how seemingly natural the interactions are. How mature the characters are-- deterring prolonged misunderstandings. Well written and directed IMHO. The actors are so great too! Kim Jae Wook and Park Min Young's chemistry is superb!

I also have to agree with @Jay below. "Patient rom-com that succeeds in focusing on the humanity of its characters and it does not turn them into cardboard roles." --exactly!!

+ I sure do like twists and for this, I didn't really expect something complicated and I was okay with that. To be fair, the drama never tried to hint that the "twist" was intense. What really captivated me was the different dynamics between lovers, family and friends & how they've grown since.

  Park Min-Young who is always an excellent actress does an outstanding job in balancing her public role as curator of an art gallery with that of a highly skilled and creative fan-girl. In fact, this drama succeeds in fleshing out for me the obsessive world of fangirls and making it both amusing and understandable.

Somehow, Park Min-Young's lead role in this rom-com seems to match the stage she has reached in her own personal life so that she delivers a performance that comes out as remarkably personal, full of truth and depth. Her screen beauty comes from within and she takes her acting partner Kim Jae-Wook to her own very classy level. Nothing is forced everything evolves.

As usual, Kim Mi-Kyung is excellent in bringing her character into life. She has a way to mix strength, depth, truth and warmth in whatever role she is asked to play that is very impressive to me.

Kim Bo-ra also does a good job of making her character Cindy grow over the 16 episodes from that of an unbearable, spoiled, ignorant rich brat into a girl who finds herself and relates increasingly well with her co-workers and her community.

Being a rom-com about art and artists, the visuals are very good. The artists who are part of the filming crew deliver. In particular, I was quite fascinated -and impressed - by the portrait that Director Ryan Gold paints of Seong Deok-Mi. Deok-Mi's eyes in the portrait are remarkably alive and three-dimensional. I had to pause the video to take a closer look.

I am always impressed by the acting abilities of Korean children in ways that link the past and the present. The five children in the story act very well again.

Jae May 30 2019 9:00 pm This drama will always be a sweet memory for me and I wouldn't be ashamed to recommend to everyone. It's such a breathe of fresh air as it breaks a lot of cliche of korean drama conflicts. No prolong conflict of misunderstanding, no dragging plots of we already knew but why they are so stupid, no I can't forgive you this is too hard for me, no we have to let go because it's the best for us. There are no such things. They are mature adults who handle the conflicts maturely so we can relate to them and admire them. I and many watch this drama even more than once each episode. Even their fluffy romance scenes are something to look forward to and always send excitement to my heart, smile to my face, and butterfly to my stomach.

For people who dropped this drama because they "think" it's no longer interesting when they're together and can guess what happen, well you miss out. Because who don't know about the conflict? But whatever boring things you imagine, this drama break it down for you and deliver everything that surpass your expectation.

For new people who haven't watched, don't trust the comments and see for yourself. Whether it's good or not, you decide. Because if you listen to comment, and not watching, you will lose this amazing memory you could have stored in heart by watching this drama.

Then, excuse me, I will replay this drama again, because I'm still not ready to let go. It will be the second time I ever replay watching a drama again, after Full House.

I just didn't feel motivated anymore since the "mystery" of the plot I pretty much have guessed already and there's nothing to anticipate really, especially in a season when a lot of other good dramas are airing. I'm planning to finish it though either way at some point.

mars May 28 2019 9:34 pm this show is your basic rom-com. it’s cute, fluffy and funny. it was nice to be able to relate to fangirling in a proper manner - since we are usually labelled as crazy, haha. the chemistry between the leads was great. but i left the show once the leads got together, since there wasn’t much to anticipate from there.

Haneen May 28 2019 9:09 am This drama is so refreshing because the characters are developing so beautifully especially Sindy considering she was annoying and a pain at the beginning but is now a funny and passionate girl. Another thing that pulled me to this drama is that the "love triangle" didn't last for long and that Da In knew her place after seeing Ryan and Deok Mi in a relationship. Overall, the characters are beautifully portrayed by the actors and they story line is refreshing but still has that bit off suspense without swaying from the main plot point, definitely became one of my favorites and would recommend to everyone.

Even if they treat kind of lightly a problem that is real, like the sasaeng fans and the addiction that sometimes a fan gets for his or hers idols. I am only at episode 7, for now, so my opinion can be wrong. Somehow I belive that is satirical, ironical treatment of the subject. Have to watch it once more, so that I can pay more attention of the roles and not on the conversations. But, no matter how it will go on with the story, I know this will be one of my faved dramas. Kim Jae-Wook and Park Min-Young are great together. Also Kim Mi-Kyung, always, is the best in her portray of the role. Good drama, for me.

Jae May 23 2019 5:43 pm Her Private Life is the best drama. I don't have high expectation over this drama when I watch the first episode. I thought it will be just another rom-com. I'm just glad I get to see Kim Jae Wook playing his first male lead on rom-com and think I could get to see his various expression of joy and sillyness, not a sad face of unrequited love again or a serious face in heavy drama.

But the drama really surprises me every episodes. As it comes with interesting scenes after scenes. Not a filler. The joyful scenes are so enjoyable and the sad scenes are not over the top.

The writer is humanizing the characters. So I could relate to them in every ways.

The director is executing the scenes very well. He really plays well with the placement of the scene cuts. It give hints but remains mystery. It picque our interest but not spoil the whole story.

The casts are delivering the emotions, either deep or light depending on the situation, sad or fun. They do great jobs with various expression as well, silly, confused, sulky, flirty, sorrow, lonely, relieved, etc.

Great job writer-nim, PD-nim, and all the casts including the child actor who plays little Ryan. I can't believe that this is the writer's first drama. I will check out on the writer and director's next work. Of course, I will support the casts as well, especially my love Kim Jae Wook.

Very well written, not exaggerating conflict, problem-solving appropriately like adult should be, extraordinary chemistry between the leads (I don't even know if they were acting or not because they're so natural. First time feeling like this in k-drama) and of course pioneer of amazing kissing scenes that will make you melt 24 ours a day ?

If you remember from Episode 8, where Sung Deok Mi's Mom had a flashback from the past where there's a four children happily playing together... The youngest one seems like Deok Mi's younger Brother...

It's either that boy died or lost... If ever, Ryan and Shi are not-blood related, I have this theory of mine that Shi An is Deok Mi's brother...

Maybe, Shi An was lost when he's young and Lee Sol (possibly Ryan's Mom) adopted him...

Noona May 16 2019 3:04 pm I love the simple storyline they offer for this drama. Even its and quite cheesy, but I dont know, I just like it. Maybe that's the reason why so many international fans adore this drama : its lightness. Ryan and Deok Mi have been so natural in their relationship. Simply told us how people could fall in love. Just seeing them being together, I cant stop smiling, then I remember the one I love. I saw so many fans talk about how this couple remind us about our love ones.

I like this drama a lot more than What's Wrong with Secretary Kim. I think PMY shines brighter in this drama. KJW does great for his role as well, he's perfect as Ryan Gold, I cant think any other actors would fit this role better than him. I even fall in love with Cha Shi An and Sindy even though I never understand KPop world.

As I started to like the Director since his work in Live Up to Your name, Im going to tell him that the first two episodes were quite tangled and blur. At first I think the drama was below my expectation, but it went better to the next episodes. Director-nim fighting. I look forward to your next projects. It's so sad that they dont get great ratings in Korea. But at least they get so much love from international fans. Thank you, chingudeul :) :D :) :D

I don't hate the second leads, her best friend–lady that I used to hate till now -- I love her as well. The plot is well written, the characters are amazing. Even the villain is entertaining. If I could I would give this drama 30,000/100 - I love it THAT much.

If you are contemplating whether to watch it or not -- do it. You wouldn't regret it.

Also, can I talk about how hot Kim Jaewook is? That man should be fucking illegal.

PS. Their chemistry is also amazing. Everything is amazing. Just Watch It!

Sunjoo’s husband makes me anxious, wth did he do. And why i think there’s relationship between deokmi and ryan when they’re kids hmm we’ll see. victoria May 05 2019 7:54 am Kim Jae Wook really shines in this leading role! He's extremely charismatic, attractive, funny and really embodies his role as Ryan Gold very well. Also Park Min Young does an great job in my opinion. Park Jin-Joo is also an lovely actress. Besides the acting, I think the plot/script has an amazing balance of romance and comedy but not cringe at all, sure some details of the fangirl life may seem cringe but overall on romance level there are no awkward/cringe moments that makes the watcher wanna look away/have second-hand embarrassment. The episodes also have insane intense cliffhangers, the writers really know what they are doing to us viewers, leaving us at the edge of our seat every episodes and the wait for the episodes a week later is almost unbearable. Although it's definitely worth it, this drama is currently the highlight of my week!

Caintastico May 03 2019 5:09 pm First of all, I love this drama because it has comedy genre. For me, comedy genre is crucial in drama as that will make me want to watch it more. The occasional laughter is always a welcome. Surprisingly, the drama does delivers comedic scenes that are not cringy at all and they are all relevant at least from my perspective as I can relate to them.

How about cringy scenes? The best part of this drama is that it has minimal cringe and I'm so satisfied with that. It makes me not wanting to speed up the drama (I like to record it and watch it the next day). Compare to other dramas that I've seen, this drama is at the lowest level of cringe. Touch Your Heart drama for example, to me it has the most cringe scenes that I didn't watch till the last episode. I think I watched it until episode 7 and skipped all the way to the last episode just because I wanna know how it ended.

Victoria Apr 30 2019 1:06 pm I didn't expect to like this drama so much. To be honest, the plot seemed insane, and the trailer showed a female protagonist that was so unrelatable and weird that it led me to hesitate watching the show for a long time.

But what can I say? The script has superb writing and the idea of a fangirl isn't taken to the point where it become unbearable to watch. Quite the opposite: it's just crazy enough to make it entertaining without undermining the female protagonist's amazing work ethics/ great personality. She still seems like a human and an amazing one at that.

Beautiful actors with beautiful acting, a beautiful soundtrack, and beautiful clothes. God, this drama is beautiful. I don't have enough words or time to describe it

The plot is fun and filled with romance for my fellow rom-com lovers. I was captivated from the first episode and don't ever feel the need to skip forward out of boredom since all of the scenes are so wonderfully scripted and acted out.

A definite must watch for what is still early 2019. If you're hesitant as I was, you should give it a shot- the series is seriously addictive!

Lots of funny moments and memorable lines, such as when Sung Deok-Mi is unable to lift the side dishes that her mother is handing her, and says: "These aren't side dishes. You packed Dad's rocks." Despite the light subject, a lot of thought went into writing the story. For example, when Sung Deok-Mi tries to make pictures of Shi-An at the airport, it's Ryan that first appears in front of her and that gets in the shot, foreshadowing that Ryan will take the first place in her heart. The duo Park Min-Young and Kim Jae-Wook is obviously fantastic, but the one that impresses me even more is Park Min-Young and Park Jin-Joo. These two are really stealing all the show in the role of two girls whose friendship was born through their common passion for the same singer.

For someone who has been following his works since Coffee Prince, a romcom is something I never thought he would attempt. I am extremely thankful that he took this up because it is completely refreshing to see him take center stage in a comedy. His behind-the-scenes are gold, by the way.

The ratings are not that bad, considering this is TVN (cable). I hope it picks up! I believe it is quite well-received overseas.

[Spoilers Ahead] I hope the plot deepens, writer-nim! I am possibly overthinking at 3am right now haha but the flashbacks seem to be dropping hints!

We see in flashbacks that Ryan and Deokmi may have been neighbours/childhood friends. The ground where Deokmi doodles cakes in colored chalk is the same spot where Ryan stood when he was younger. He could be that boy in white in Episode 1. I don’t think it is Eunki though. You will see washed-up chalk, and most importantly, the same small little basket where Deokmi gets her chalk. There is another boy running with a hose (I think he destroys the chalk artwork on the ground), it could be the younger brother (Cha Si-An). Perhaps, both brothers are looking for their mum.

I am excited nevertheless, to know more about the characters. I also hope it is not all fluff, as it can get boring. The fangirling part is quite hilarious. Cindy is the toned-down version of the real sasaeng fan. The part where she boards business class just to snap pictures...(yes very true).

First of all, I don't think Park Min-Young needs our approval. Her works speak for themselves. They're all remarkable and can only be compared to those of Harrison Ford, Shahrukh Khan and other such actors "born once in a century", as we say in French. Second, her character in "Her Private Life" has a job. She is a hardworking art curator whom other galleries respect and would like to hire. She becomes a fangirl outside of work. Who are we to judge how she spends her spare time? Guess what! Life is not easy, and a hobby can help you get past the difficult times. Some people like to do graffiti with a spray can, others to collect weird toys and dolls, others yet to post online every insignificant detail of their life. Is this any more normal than being a fan? Find the answer to this subtle question in "Her Private Life".

The reason why he has not become the main lead was not because he was not offered the main lead role but he used to avoid taking the burden of the main lead and prefered to be a supporting role. But sometimes in a drama he played, I like his character more than the main leads, for example in Temperature of Love. So I'm glad he agreed to play Ryan Gold and I'm sure he will bring more depth to the character.
