Koichi Shitara (Taisuke Fujigaya) works for a large drink manufacturer. He is recognized for his excellent work at his company. He is 31-years-old and married to Natsumi. His wife is a competent career woman and also handles the housework. They live in an upscale apartment. Koichi Shitara’s life seems to be going very smooth.
One day, Koichi Shitara is notified that he is demoted amid a company restructure. Koichi Shitara decides to hand in his resignation. He believes that his wife Natsumi will understand him, but what awaits for him at home are divorce papers. He has suddenly lost his job and his wife. He looks for another job, but it's not easy for him. His friend Nao Sakuma (Naomi Nishida) then tells him about a job, that offers perks like housing, meals, and flexible working hours. The job is a keeper position for Ginboshiso Boarding House where Nao Sakuma, Itsuka Nishijima (Nagisa Sekimizu) and Suzu Masuda (Sayu Kubota) live.
