Torao Saeki (Ken Matsudaira) lives with his wife and five children on Goto Islands in Nagasaki Prefecture. He's often called "Mr. Tiger" and loves his family, hometown, and alcohol.
He makes Goto noodles in a factory, remolded from his home. Every morning, his whole family, including five kids, make noodles. Torao Saeki isn't rich, but he is satisfied with his life.
His family is considered ideal in the community. As time passes, his five children have all grown up. Some of the children want to go to the city. His second daughter Chizuru (Maki Horikita), a senior in high school, feels confined living on the island. She participates in a national photo contest and wins a prize. Chizuru now wants to go to Tokyo after graduation and become a professional photographer, but her father initially opposes. Torao Saeki wants his daughter to work in the tourism section for the island. Nevertheless, Torao accepts unwillingly Chizuru's idea.
Finally, Chizuru goes to Tokyo and starts work as an assistant to a cameraman. Soon, Chizuru faces reality.
Meanwhile, Chizuru's older sister Kozue (Noriko Nakagoshi) is set to marry. Kozue asks Chizuru to take pictures at her wedding, but Chizuru is reluctant due to an upcoming photo contest. Chizuru finally decides to go back to her hometown on the island for her sister's wedding. There, her family's smiling faces and relationships await for her.
