Ji-Woo (Rain) works as a private investigation administrator. He's good looking, lives luxurious daily life, has a global business and carries romances in every country he goes to. Ji-Woo's only problem is that he is the prime suspect in the murder of his long-time partner and friend Kelvin. One day, an attractive woman comes to him as a client and he will soon face a volatile case with an outcome even he can't predict.

Jini (Lee Na-Young) has experienced the world and pursued ambitious dreams. Since the day she find out she was adopted her life changes. Jini was adopted by her uncle after the death of her parents. Then Jini's adoptive parents were killed. The only clue Jini has of the perpetrator is a mysterious figure named Melchidec. Jini believes Melchidec killed her foster parents and soon will kill her. She now approaches private detective Ji-Woo, who is was involved in her foster parents murder in Las Vegas.

Kai (Daniel Henney ) is an international shipping businessman and a core lobbyist connecting Asia with North America. From a young age Kai has acquired power, fortune, and intricate network connections. He is also the only person Jini can trust and love. Because of the threat Jini feels over her life and anyone that comes close to her, she pushes Kai away. When Jini drags Ji-Woo into her foster parents investigation, Kai uses all of his fortune and personnel networking to get back her love.

Do-Soo (Lee Jung-Jin) is a detective. He comes from a poor background, so he works obsessively to have overachieve. But, Do-Soo gets shot by Ji-Woo and his pride is wounded. Moreover, he is passed over for a promotion. He decides to go over Ji-Woo.

So-Ran (Yoon Jin-Seo) isn't good at martial arts, but stubbornly attempts to complete. She believes Do-Soo's kindness to her is a sign of affection from him. So-Ran never thinks that her affections for Do-Soo might be one-sided. Her pressure to arrest Ji-Woo makes Do-Soo indifferent to her.

Notes

Temporary title "Domangja" means literally "Fugitive" or "Runaway".
"The Fugitive: Plan B" will take over the KBS2 Wednesday & Thursday 21:55 time slot previously occupied by "King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo" and followed by "The President" on December 15, 2010.
Filming begins July in Yokohama, Japan.

Jillibean Feb 20 2026 4:44 am I watched this on the old Dramafever site which disappeared in 2018, but I honestly don't remember much about it. Certainly not enough to write a review. Maybe I should check it out again after so many years?

I watched for Daniel Henney, basically, and of course Rain. I wish it had been more exciting but it was rather bland. Sorry.

Park Min May 08 2024 4:51 pm Something about action dramas from around early 2010s make them unique for better or worse. The drama started off with a big bang, literally, while shoving in the maximum possible amount of flashy elements. If you watch the very first scene it should give you a good idea. However, just like other ones from around the same time, it gradually began to wither away after 5-6 episodes until it reached a bland conclusion. The male lead doubling his role as a comedic relief was mostly fine, but him flailing his tongue like a dog was a bit too cringe to tolerate. The drama really wanted to include romance because it was the trend back then, that's why we had multiple pairings, most of them were unnecessary or weak. The main antagonist was your generic baddie, the drama didn't even show him a lot until the last few episodes because they didn't want to bother with more writing. The vibes were very similar to 'A Man Called God (2010)' which came out in the same year, except this one was a bit better.

However, it is a lot of fun if you can suspend your disbelief and just don’t think too much about the details. Masterpiece? No. A waste of 20 hours? Also no.

punkie Apr 09 2019 2:17 am Was browsing around and recognized the 3 male main characters. Had high hopes for the drama. Extremely disappointed. 75% of the scenes was just fights and running. It gets repetitive and just drags the plot. I really didn't see any character development and don't see any chemistry between the lead. Didn't play attention much to the story. Only watch because all the pretty and handsome faces. Wasted 20 hours, hoping it would just get better. Sorry is too unrealistic. It's like Rain's character vs the whole corrupted world. Unless he's superman, he would have died or been caught. I give this drama a 6. Maybe even a 4-5. However, attractive face made up for it.

If he had continued loving Keiko, who is daughter of a yakuza gang leader it would have been fun and cance for more interesting fights. Kai had become an insignificant character. Daniel Henney deserved better.

(soran dying in the end made the drama interesting) yoon son ha- "man, you're good" thumbs up to song jae ho and song dongil too but most of all Gwak Jeonghwan ... perfect casting ... and for the whole drama --- two thumbs up - you are AWESOME and you never let the viewers down. way to go, Gwak Jeonghwan!

MommieLynn Nov 21 2010 10:43 am I absolutely, positively love this drama. Sometimes Jini gets on my last nerve when she doesn't listen but other than that, the cast is awesome! I think that the ratings could have been high to if this drama was also offered in the U.S. Ji-Hoon's fan base here is quite large as well as Daniel's. I understand it is because we are somewhat lost in translation, but other than that the Cloud fan base here is huge!

FUGITIVE fighting^.^

EP Nov 17 2010 9:47 pm I think the plot for this drama is a little convoluted (too many characters, too many languages, too many countries). I watch this drama because Rain is excellent -he's funny, sexy, dramatic all at the same time. They should remove some of the other characters and focus more on Rain - the ratings would go up!
