Jin-Seok (Kang Ha-Neul) moves into a new home with his older brother Yoo-Seok (Kim Moo-Yul), mother (Na Young-Hee) and father (Moon Sung-Geun). Jin-Seok suffers from hypersensitivity, but with medication he is able to live normally. One rainy evening, Jin-Seok sees his older brother being thrown into a van by a group of men. After 19 days of silence, Yoo-Seok returns home, but he doesn't remember anything from his disappearance. Jin-Seok though notices enough changes in his older brother's personality and behavior that he begins to suspect that the person who has returned is not Yoo-Seok. Meanwhile, Jin-Seok keeps hearing sounds from a locked room temporarily storing the previous home owner's belongings.

nenabunena Feb 16 2022 7:46 am Don't believe the hype. A twist for twist's sake, does not make a great film. The film is also a bit convoluted. It was ok but seen better amongst its genre in Seven, The Usual Suspects, Memento, The Prestige, Oldboy, etc. I give it a 6.5/10 rating. Anything higher are from teenyboppers who haven't seen many Good films and will overrate this.

Hihihello Dec 16 2021 10:16 am Rewatched this movie today and the twists are still mindblowing! The synopsis doesn't really pictures what this movie is about. Moreover, half of the movie is not all! And I couldn't get over how heartbreaking the story actually is. Great one!

It cleverly excutes the fast-paced suspense, mystery, thriller and heartbreaking elements so well, making you so curious as to what the truth really is. It is so worth watching, Korean films are amazingly unpredictable and I’ll never stop loving them. It is geniunely one proper good K-film that I have watched in a while. Glad I watched it! 9/10

Definitely a thriller movie worth watching. Netflix has some interesting Korean dramas and movies on there you need to check out...

MSN03 Nov 21 2020 4:48 am Groundbreaking! 10/10, definitely a great film! The first part is on the thriller side then the rest of the film unfolds the story exceptionally well. Kang Ha-Neul's acting in this film was phenomenal.

This movie has a lot of twists but I liked the part where is as clueless. Towards the end it was extremely disappointing. It's an ok watch I guess. Just don't expect too much. There are by far better Korean thrillers.

I hope my neighbors did not hear that; it was a disturbing sound. I am not sure I should watch the rest... even though it got such good reviews.

CreatorWu Sep 16 2018 5:25 am I was truly surprised by this. I had no idea what the story was for what I believed was 50 minutes, and I think that says a lot. Nowadays you can pretty much guess what is happening, and how the story will end up but I drew a blank for this one. I didn't even catch the small hint to the beginning although I knew something was wrong. I thought the ending could have been better, but overall I really enjoyed watching this. Kang Ha Neul is always so grand!

a Mar 20 2018 2:38 am Wow, the plot twists in this. A dark twisted, but good, movie. However, I wasn't really a fan of the excessive focus on the "secret" room and jump scares in the beginning. I felt like it was a waste of time. Kang Ha Neul was excellent in this. He portrayed the character very well. The ending for Kim Moo Yul's character left me empty. I wanted something more for his ending - more substance perhaps. The ending credit scene was really heart wrenching. I cried a lot at that part because it showed that the characters could have had different fates.

Kang ha neul is reallly good at portraying his character!!!!1 This story is really unexpected and the plot twist is amazing. The moment he said hyung reminded me of kyung soo hahahhaha . The storyline that I expected was wrong and it really turns out to be something i didnt expect which makes me anxious and curious to watch this movie till the end eventhough the ghost part on min 20 was really made me scream in my hostel and i ppl around me scream too hahahhahaha and im almost to give up t watch it but because of the great storyline and my curiousity it made me to finish it.

tim656 Mar 04 2018 10:13 pm watch this on netflix, this movie is amazing, not your typical car chasing shooting type of film, this one is more psychological and mystery. the story is pretty solid, the acting was good,the story played out in an unexpected way which keep you hook the entire time, and the ending is just so sad, didn't expected that outcome at all, I'll give this one a 10/10 since netflix has a better sub.

Amyus Feb 28 2018 6:07 pm This is one of those very cleverly written and directed films that doesn't pander to the 'car chase and explosions' brigade. It's a dark, twisted story that just as soon as you think you've worked out what's going on, another spanner gets thrown into the works. Part murder mystery, part psychological thriller without being too cerebral for its own good and a nice 'n nasty jump scare that works well and throws the viewer off balance. One or two minor pot holes, but nothing that detracts from the story too far although a little too much reliance on dream sequences towards the beginning of the film. Nevertheless, a film worth watching and sticking with all the way to it's uncomfortable, but in the context of the story, believable end. Great performances from all the cast, without exception. The subs could do with tidying up a bit and a clearer font used. Overall score - 9 out of 10.

Joanna Feb 27 2018 8:08 am Picked this movie to watch out of curiosity as a late night distraction. This movie is good and original but not one to watch when you already feeling down. It's really bleak and depressing so if you're the kind that easily gets your mood set after watching a movie, better be prepared.

That doesn't take away the fact that the movie is a good thriller though.

I almost gave up on this at the first jump-scare, but decided I'd watch between my fingers if I had to. You won't have to. I can't say how original, and great Night of Memory is in that it has a story that I won't forget easily. NO spoilers but to say, our lives can change in a moment. All members of the cast were great. I didn't 'know' any of them and I think that made my experience that much more enjoyable, instead of me focusing on just one actor or another. This will def be a rewatch!

He is one of my few fave Korean actors. How is wish there was My Beautiful Bride part 2. I hope to see more of Kim Moo Hyul in kdramas. More power to you and God bless
