Megumi is engaged to elite young judge Kanou, but feels anxiety over her relationship. Kanou is usually swamped with heavy workloads. Megumi continues a secret relationship with her ex-lover Yamaoka. They met again at a reunion.

An accident, leads to the death of Yamaoka. Megumi is accused of murder. Kanou volunteers to be the judge at Megumi's trial.
