Noriaki Natsume (Toshiaki Karasawa) is a doctor and works at the nation's premiere cancer center. One day, he gets a patient with terminal cancer. After the patient receives a lump sum payout from his living benefit option on his life insurance policy, he miraculously goes in remission. Another patient with terminal cancer then goes through the exact same situation.
Noriaki Natsume, his friend at the cancer center, Yuma Hashima (Atsuro Watabe), and his friend at an insurance company, Yuichi Morikawa (Mitsuhiro Oikawa), work together to solve the mysery.

- Based on novel "Gan Shometsu no Wana: Kanzen Kankai no Nazo" by Kazuma Iwaki (published January 10, 2017 by Takarajimasha). The novel won the 15th Kono Mystery ga Sugoi! Award.
