Ninon Okamura (Marie Iitoyo) is a high school student who likes to walk around with a parrot on her should. Other students think the parrot is a stuffed animal, but it is a real parrot. Ninon Okamura doesn't have any friends at school. Meanwhile, Yuiji Kira (Taishi Nakagawa) is Ninon Okamura’s classmate. He enjoys his school days harassing other students and dating various girls, but his secret is that he is terminally ill and he only has a year to live.

Ninon Okamura and Yuiji Kira live next door to each other, but they have not talked with each other at school. Ninon Okamura learns from her parents that Yuji only has a year to live. One day, Yuiji Kira tells Ninon Okamura that he doesn't want to die and he doesn't to be alone. Ninon Okamura tells him that she will be by his side until he dies.

Tbh I thought Kira's dad would be one of those serious work holics that just go check on they children when they have time, but I was wrong. The dad is super supportive and nice! I love this movie- is there a chance for a 2nd one?

Tin Feb 02 2022 6:50 am I love this movie so much, already watched this movie multiple times in the past 6mos. Taishi is so handsome while I see so much of Weight Lifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo in Marie. The chemistry between the 2 leads is superb, so believable and very much lovable! They are also an eye candy! This movie is perfect and pure!

Nakagawa Taishi and Marie Iitoyo have the best chemistry I've ever seen among the other Japanese drama MCs I've watched. It'll make you cry, blush, smile all together. The actors are spot on. 222am Sep 28 2017 1:51 am This was one of THE BEST japanese teenage romance drama I've seen. No crappy misunderstandings, it was full of romantic and happy scenes. The male lead was so hot, i had heart eyes from beginning to end. Female heroine was so cheerful and non-bitchy, it was great. His best friend I've also seen in many movies and drama, I like him a lot. Second female lead seemed to be bitchy at first but was also kind. The whole movie is a fantasy of the perfect teenage well-adjusted life. Definitely one of the BEST shojo movie, I think, and I have watched A LOT of it.

No conflict, no weird or dumb misunderstanding..they just confessed to each other and then they start to date happily..so they have a lot of cute and sweet moments till the end.. P/S: please dont skip the ending credits..there is still a lot of cute moments that did not show in the actual story..

キュン (kyun) comes from the expression "胸キュン (mune kyun)" which literally means your chest constricts from excitement
