Ko Ha-Neul (Seo Hyun-Jin) dreamed of becoming a teacher, due to a teacher who helped her when she was young. Ko Ha-Neul now begins work as a temporary teacher at a private high school. While working there, she interacts with many people, including teachers Park Sung-Soon (Ra Mi-Ran) and Do Yeon-Woo (Ha-Joon). Both of whom are dedicated to their teaching jobs. Meanwhile, Ko Ha-Neul faces different problems at the school. As she works through those problems, Ko Ha-Neul grows as a person and a teacher.

If you're checking the comments to see if this is worth the try, go ahead and watch this. You'll be thankful after.

LOG Aug 14 2021 4:14 pm I feel like people not being able to understand this show is mostly because of how culture- exclusive it is specifically to SK, it's personally emotionally touching for me and I'm the type of person who tries to understand cultural differences and If you do so, it IS objectively a very well written and directed show...and btw, @keeter ra miran wasn't held at gunpoint for being in this show, she read the script fully and decided to be in it cause she liked it, no one has to apologize to her because You didn't like the show I've barely watched kdramas about teachers instead of students and this was pretty realistic and interesting to me

Erwin May 14 2021 3:10 am Seo Hyun-jin is so adorable in this drama I feel like hugging her every time I see her. She is my absolute favorite. I saw her first in King's Daughter Soo Baek Hyang, which moved me more than any other film or TV series I have seen in my 70 years. Since then I have seen her again in The Beauty Inside, Another Miss Oh and Let's Eat 2, and now Black Dog. I have been totally captivated by her every time.

But believe me, there are many people out there who have personality like Go ha neul, even my friends is very similar with her.

The supporting characters were a true treat to watch. I am studying to become a teacher and I will always treasure this drama for the lessons it taught me.

I enjoyed it a lot even though my favourite genre is Romance. I watched it because of Seo Hyun jin and I don't regret it. It was very realistic and I loved the cast. Very different from other dramas I have watched in a good way

And I'm curious about it at first and then gave me the idea I should give a shot since I'm an Education Student atm, I need this and viola it gives me the POV of how Teachers work in their field. I'm happy also that kdrama at last have this field of work in a series that focuses the Teachers Life, work and their shortcoming. To add also, I'm not fond of pure romantic series I love more mystery, life, melodrama and more realistic drama and this one suits my taste.

MayDri Feb 08 2020 11:37 am For everyone who still wondering wether they should watch this drama or not, I recommend you to watch it, but if you try to find a romantic drama, mystery, sci-fi, crime, sad, fantasy or horror genre drama, well this drama won't suit your taste definitely. This is one kind of heart-warming drama where you can get a lot of moral value. Plot of the story really relatable with what happens in our real life, that's why you will understand the story line of this drama easily. It talks about how unfair this life could be especially in education system, how we have to learn accepting something that maybe beyond our expectations, how hard is it to find a job nowadays, etc. So, I really wanna say thank you to all the crews, actresses, actors and the singers who give us many good OST because they make this drama so well.

Anyway, actually I'm part of the viewers who wish to see more of Ko Ha Neul and Do Yeon Woo interaction and love story (I guess), but after I watch it till the end, it better they try to make the love story being blur like that to make sure we still focus on the main plot. But, if they think to give us more special episode, I wish we can see their love story begin to bloom hahahaaa

Which I think we need sometimes, this drama is like a true to life experience and through this you will know the value of being a teacher.. kudos to the writer, director and to Ra Mi Ran and Seo Hyun Jin I love their relationship. Mentor-mentee relationship wishing you have someone like Ms. Park as a mentor.

Keeter Feb 06 2020 9:55 pm An absolute waste of the actors. Pacing was abysmal. Lead actress stammers at every question and stares open-mouthed for what seems an eternity before speaking. The writer and director should apologize to Ra Mi Ran especially.

I'm a Filipina and a teacher myself but this kind of situation of being a teacher in this drama, as a substitute one isn't experience in the Philippines. Praise God every teacher is respected even he /she is just a sub tchr in DepEd Philippines.

I also like the after-feeling of watching it..I hope there wont be a lovey dovey scene between the teachers, there are so many types of relationship other than a lovey dovey one. Fayesha Jan 28 2020 5:36 am came here for seo hyun jin. but the drama has too many unnecessary emotion development, especially toward her. from other teacher, student, school image and it's politic. i'm not saying the drama will be bad, i'm sure there will be a lot to learn from this drama. i just feel like didn't need to watch this drama, because i don't think i can stand every "unnecessary emotion development" ... it's too much.

p.s i think the main problem are the main protagonist. for it's 2 episode, she didn't give a strong or confident image that needed in this kind of drama. i prefer those kind protagonist.

We do not need love relationship in this type of drama. There are so many lesson to be learn and adapted to our life. What a great drama, low rating does not necessarily mean bad drama. it is a good drama for those who appreciated the story line. a few really nice quote from this drama"

So many things to learn, so many things to get from the drama, it really relate to real life. Just enjoy the drama and appreciate it more.

I'm tired watching drama that main lead has fool character or being bullied, No action against it and being weak & sad person. If compared misaeng it's too far, misaeng very realistic & related to real life & this drama too overly dramatic about small things.

joph Dec 18 2019 9:41 am if you have not watch "Misaeng", go watch it. Black Dog has same formula with Misaeng, you can see/feel that Ko Ha Neul is Jang Geu Rae on Misaeng. similar problem, background, etc.

lil bit dissapointed by black dog but still watch it, tho.

Seriously, I can't wait. They are total ahjumma crushes of mine (I'm the ahjumma, not SHJ, to be clear). I Love them so much they'd flip if they saw my crazy fan eyes looking at them. :D This is so exciting, And it's tvN so it should have really richly detailed characters and super pretty cinematography.

Random, but I have no clue what the title means, but... I'm always amazed at how many more syllables they need to Hangulize English words. Black is now Beulraekdok... Justice was jeo-seu-ti-seu. Why not just do like other places and just... use the native letters and sounds and let people learn these simple words or translate it since it is easy to do so. The name's memorable, though!
