Yuko Morimiya (Mei Nagano) is a high school student and she lives with her stepfather Morimiya (Kei Tanaka). Morimiya is her third father. Her mother, Rika (Satomi Ishihara), is a free spirited person and has remarried several times. She disappeared from Yuko's life at a certain point. Even though Yuko and her stepfather are not blood related, she is fully loved by him.

Based on novel "Soshite, Baton wa Watasareta" by Maiko Seo (published February 22, 2018 by Bungeishunju). Novel won the 16th Japan Booksellers' Award in 2019.

jens Aug 01 2023 3:53 am It felt long. It's got the feels, and great acting, but it just seems like it was trying too hard to make you cry at the end. There were around three cry moments, and it felt a little forced. Also, I was a bit confused in the first half. The "time jumps" between past and present was hard to understand at first, but it all becomes clear at the end. I think it was made unclear on purpose.

Sarah Joy Jun 30 2022 9:19 am I literally cried my eyes out! This is a masterpiece. I'm a long time fan of Satomi Ishihara and seeing her in dramas and movies keeps my spirit up. She's really a great actress. And of course, I have come to admire Nagano Mei. She's absolutely stunning! And Tanaka Kei, is such a versatile actor. I've watched him couple of times in every drama. I think Satomi Ishihara and Tanaka Kei always make a great pairing. They were together in Unsung Cinderella as well. They are so amazing!

Lastly, this is the first time I have seen Kenshi Okada, but damn, he's such a good actor too. I love his voice ^_^
