Hyo-Jung (Ye Soo-Jung) is 69-years-old. She receives treatment at a hospital, but she is sexually assaulted by 29-year-old nurse assistant Joong-Ho (Kim Joon-Kyung). After a lot of thought, she tells Dong-In (Ki Joo-Bong), whom she lives with, about the assault and reports the incident to the police. The police and those around her doubt her story. Meanwhile, Joong-Ho insists that they had consensual intercourse. A court then rejects the arrest warrant against Joong-Ho. Hyo-Jung does not waver in her pursuit of attaining justice.

soom Sep 26 2023 12:46 pm NOT just this one case--sexual assault in care facilities is very common. Staff as well as patients can be perps. My own mother came very close to being assaulted. While n a rehab facility due to a broken leg, a delusional patient came into her room while we were on the phone, he took the phone away and hung up. Luckily because I was on the line, I was able to alert the nurses station and they prevented anything from happening. I got her room moved to directly across from the nursing station, for her protection and visited every day. She recovered from her health issue quickly and was able to return home. But she was shaken for several months due to the trauma.

"Lim (director) was inspired to make her debut film, after reading an article about a real-life case in which a young man sexually abused an elderly woman.

“While reading the column mentioning the case, I was shocked that the prejudice about the elderly woman being asexual became the reason to pick the elderly as victims for predators,” said Lim. “They are using the anxiety of the victims that they will not be believed by society.”

Reporting sexual abuse often inflicts new cruelty on its victims.

“In the warrant dismissal letter of the case,” said Lim, “which was the inspiration to make this film, there was a sentence that says, ‘There is not much reason for a young man to rape an old woman.’ Predators are aware of the prejudice on elderly women as much as they know about the low report ratio which makes a second offense likely to happen.”

In the real-life case, the victim committed suicide."
