Akemi Ninomiya (Ayame Goriki) is a hardcore mystery fan. Although she is only a college student, she is wealthy and owns a building. Private Detective Morio Ukai (Hiroshi Tamaki) prefers tracking down lost pets for wealthy clients rather than murder cases which brings in little money. The duo join forces to solve various suspicious cases.

Movie is set in the fictional city of Ikagawa.

Gergeri Aug 31 2021 8:20 am Absolutely loved this! Great over-the-top performances from everyone, like real-life manga characters. Very difficult to keep that up the way they do. Ayama in particular is just absolutely perfect. I'm a European who has never lived in Japan but I found myself laughing at jokes I didn't really understand, and I really liked the references to tv shows and personalities I knew nothing about. This is a perfect little gem, I have never seen anything like it anywhere else. I've watched this in 2021, and it is absolutely the best thing I have seen this year. It made me laugh out loud, even when I was not 100percent sure why it was funny. It has real charm. And, something often forgotten in comedies, an actual storyline which is worth following.

mizzu Oct 07 2014 8:24 am Fullheart, you're the one who is full of yourself. I don't understand why so many insecure whiny foreigners and domestic Japanese fans whine so much about her. On other shows where she acts carefree people say she should be more serious. When she acts too serious here they then say she should lighten up...SMFH...you people are the ones who should get over yourselves. Gouriki was fine in this series.
