Plot

Soo-Mi (Lim Soo-Jung) and Su-Yeon (Moon Geun-Young) return home after an extended illness and hospital stay. Things have not been the same since their mother passed away. Their return is welcomed by their stepmother Eun-Joo (Yum Jung-Ah). It’s evident that Soo-Mi, the older and stronger of the two, isn’t afraid to speak her mind when it comes to their family troubles. Su-Yeon is more timid and wary of their stepmother and looks to Soo-Mi for help. Continually picked on and harassed by their stepmother, the two have no choice but to endure the relationship for their father’s sake. Soo-Mi promises Su-Yeon that she will never let their stepmother beat them again. Unexplainable things start to occur at the house. Something has changed, no one knows what it is, but the sisters can feel it.

Benjamin May 07 2022 4:33 am "A Tale of Two Sisters" is a classic mystery-horror from South Korea. I especially liked the background music that set the tone for the entire film.

The cast had impressive acting skills, while the plot may be a bit confusing at first but you'll understand it after watching again.

Some might be familiar with "The Uninvited", which is a remake of "A Tale of Two Sisters". But I prefer "A Tale of Two Sisters" for its better execution.

mitzmin Dec 31 2009 10:27 am wonderful movie with a touch melancholy through the plot. i had never seen a korean horror movie before but needless to say this one is spectacular. the actress su-jeong lim is VERY good and I'm looking forward to watching more movies starring her.
