A Farewell to Sorrow/ep. 11-60 Plot Synopsis
- ep. 31 Yeon-shim makes Seo-young go on a blind date in order to dissuade her from seeing Jung-woo anymore. Meanwhile, Tae-bok is shocked to realize that he had been cheated when he recently bought a building.
- ep. 32 With Yeo-jin's help, Jung-woo invents a new type of noodle dish. Yeo-jin works hard with Sung-min to help him with his new business, and his ex-wife Hee-sook is surprised when she sees Yeo-jin in the factory.
- ep. 33 Since Jung-woo is so caught up with his new noodle factory business, he hardly has time to see Seo-young, and he is shocked that she went out on a blind date. Despite her mother's plea, Yeo-jin continues to help Sung-min with the factory.
- ep. 34 Sung-kyu leaves the house when his wife reproaches him for lending money to his brother. With Hae-sun's help, Jung-woo is able to advertise their new noodle business on the TV home shopping program, and he receives a very warm response from the TV viewers
- ep. 35 Tae-bok collapses and is taken to the ER. Only then, Seo-young and Yeon-shim realize that he has been victimized to a scam. Meanwhile, the rising sales of the new noodles fall flat because of Il-ho's vicious strategy.
- ep. 36 Tae-bok invites Jung-woo over and with the entire family, he has the final luxurious dinner. When Seo-young finds out that Min-joo is pregnant, she urges Do-jin to take responsible and marry her. Seo-young's family is kicked out of their own house, and is
- ep. 37 Seo-young's heart breaks as she watches her mother suffer, but through Jung-woo's cheerful words, she feels relieved. Meanwhile, Do-jin refuses to go on a blind date, and announces that he will marry Min-joo and that she is pregnant.
- ep. 38 Seo-young begins to grow suspicious of the relationship between Il-ho's family and Hae-sun. When she learns from Yeo-jin that Hae-sun is Sung-jae and his brothers' stepmother, she becomes confused.
- ep. 39 Jung-woo becomes confused when Seo-young tells him that he may be the son of Hae-sun. Despite Il-ho's opposition, Do-jin brings Min-joo home and introduces her to his family. When Jung-woo asks where their stepmother is, Sun-oak goes to Hae-sun and tells
- ep. 40 Il-ho calls Jung-woo and tells him that Hae-sun was only using his family so she could seek revenge on him. Jung-woo goes to Hae-sun and begs her to tell him the truth, but she denies that he is her son.
- ep. 41 With Jung-woo's sudden disappearance, the entire family worries and goes out to look for him. Meanwhile, Jung-woo's truck that got into an accident is spotted by the police and they contact Sung-jae.
- ep. 42 Since Jung-woo doesn't come by anymore, Yeon-shim begins to think that he and Seo-young broke up. Sung-jae takes off with Seo-young to find Jung-woo. When they meet, he apologizes to Jung-woo, but Jung-woo refuses to forgive him.
- ep. 43 Jung-woo announces that he is going to quit working for the noodle factory, and confesses to Jung-hoon that he is actually his uncle not his brother. Sung-min gets into a fight with Jung-woo while trying to persuade him to come back.
- ep. 44 When Yeo-jin sees how much her father is harassing Sung-jae's family, she quits the noodle factory out of guilt. Meanwhile, Yeon-shim finds herself being more and more drawn to Jung-woo who always brightens up the atmosphere.
- ep. 45 Han's noodle factory is once again lively as Jung-woo returns to work. Yeo-jin begs Hee-sook to not give up on Sung-min for their son, Dong-ha's sake. Do-jin proposes to Min-joo.
- ep. 46 When Il-ho's business sours, he meets with President Paik to help him financially but is rejected. Jung-woo is busy with his first noodle snack bar. When Il-ho learns this, he hires gangsters to ruin Jung-woo's business.
- ep. 47 Due to the commotion with the gangsters, Yeo-jin is severely injured. When Yeon-shim and Tae-bok visit Yeo-jin at the hospital with Seo-young, they bump into Hae-sun, and she recognizes Hae-sun as the bar hostess from years ago.
- ep. 48 Tae-bok asks about the relationship between Hae-sun and Jung-woo, and Seo-young answers that she is the biological mother of Jung-woo. Meanwhile, Yeon-shim finally gives her blessing to Jung-woo and Seo-young's marriage.
- ep. 49 Sung-jae's family happily prepare for Jung-woo and Seo-young's wedding. Yeo-jin tells her father that she will go abroad to study. Meanwhile, Il-ho finally approves of Do-jin marrying Min-joo.
- ep. 50 Do-jin and Min-joo get married with everybody's blessing. Meanwhile, Il-ho's business begins to crumble financially, and he starts to feel the pressure.
- ep. 51 Hae-sun begs on her knees to Yeon-shim that she will never try to act as Jung-woo's mother. Yeo-jin's heart aches as she watches her father suffer from the financial crisis. Meanwhile, Kang-jae begins to approach Sung-mi by making his friends sign up for
- ep. 52 After thinking long and hard, Yeon-shim finally tells Jung-woo to invite Hae-sun to his engagement party. Meanwhile, Tae-bok decides to help Il-ho for Min-joo's sake.
- ep. 53 Sung-min tries to persuade Hae-sun to stop her from making Il-ho go bankrupt, but Yeo-jin braces herself for the worst. When his business faces bankruptcy, Il-ho collapses and is taken to the ER.
- ep. 54 After the engagement, Seo-young takes Jung-woo to Hae-sun. Jung-woo bows to Hae-sun and calls her mother. Meanwhile, Kang-jae asks Sung-kyu to help him marry Sung-mi, but is rejected.
- ep. 55 Seo-young and Hae-sun spend a pleasant time together looking at the engagement party pictures. Il-ho finally repents on his wrongdoings and go to Sung-jae to tell him that he will give back the noodle factory.
- ep. 56 Sung-jae suggests to Sung-min and Jung-woo to take over Il-ho Foods, and make it into the best noodle factory in Korea. Meanwhile, Il-ho apologizes to Sung-min and tells him that he will give him his blessing if he still loves Yeo-jin.
- ep. 57 Sung-mi and Kang-jae begin their romantic dates. After clearing his thoughts and regrets on Yeo-jin completely, Sung-min goes back to his ex-wife. Meanwhile, Sung-mi is shocked to learn that Hae-sun is suffering from a terminal disease.
- ep. 58 Hae-sun begs Sung-mi to not tell anyone of her disease. Hae-sun sells off everything she owns and decides to get treated, and spend her last days with Jung-woo.
