In 1941, Jiro Noguchi (Taiga Nakano) is a baseball player and bats in the cleanup position for his team. He is the second son in his family. The third son, Noboru (Yoshiki Saito), and the fourth son, Wataru (Kohei Fukuyama), are also baseball players. The first son Akira (Ryo Katsuji) returns to Japan after serving in the military during the war. Before entering the military, Akira was a great pitcher and he was admired by his younger brothers. He has now lost his confidence as a pitcher.
