Formerlly Toshiba Entertainment Inc., the company renamed itself to Showgate Inc. on June 1st, 2007. The change in name resulted from the aquisition of Toshiba Entertainment Inc. by advertising firm Hakuhōdō on May 1st, 2007. Toshiba Entertainment Inc. came into existence in 2003, after parent company Toshiba bought Amuse Pictures.
