Plot
Michiko (Ai Hashimoto) lost her dad in a car accident when she was 10 years old. After the car accident, Michiko has lived with her mother Kyoko (Mahiru Konno). Michiko, now in her 2nd year of high school, gets a cell phone from her mother as a birthday present. Michiko is so excited to have her very first cell phone. Soon afterwards, she is forced into joining social networking site "AvaQ" by classmate, and queen of the classroom, Taeko Awano (Rikako Sakata).
Initially, Michiko is not interested in the site or the world of avatars as she thinks of avatars as nothing more than a doll. But by chance, she becomes hooked on decorating her own avatar. In order to collect virtual money to dress her avatar Michiko blackmails a salary worker. During the annual AvaQ contest for the best dressed avatar, Michiko wins the prize. She now becomes queen of the classroom.
Michiko sets up an avatar club of odd gas masks. She also has plastic surgery to make herself look more like her avatar and becomes prettier. Michiko's personality also changes. Trouble soon brews for Michiko when her home room teacher Mizokuchi (Toranosuke Kato) threatens her and fellow classmate Yamanouchi (Kazuma Sano) betrays her. Meanwhile, Michiko doesn't even blink her eyes. She starts getting revenge.

i'm agree with both comments...
i think they recklessly titled this movie...
why they don't title this movie as "AvaQ"...doesn't it sound more exclusive??
but, since ai-chan play the main character, i won't be hesitate to watch this movie... lol

They should have just put the other title. It would have been really good. People will think that this is a remake of that stupid CGI Hollywood Avatar without even watching this movie and make negative comments about it. Many Japanese movies always mention about Western and Famous Hollywood Celebrities on their script which I really don't like about it.
It's sad that most of the Japanese know more about Western Celebrities than the Great artist of their own country. If they put one or two local artist in their movies/dramas, we the fans might get influenced and look for more about it, instead of hearing about already rich and famous hollywood celebrities everywhere.
