At the age of 8, Park Joo-Hyeong went to Italy after he was adopted. He is now an adult and has the name of Vincenzo Cassano (Song Joong-Ki). He is a lawyer, who works for the Mafia as a consigliere. Because of a war between mafia groups, he flees to South Korea. In South Korea, he gets involved with Lawyer Hong Cha-Young (Jeon Yeo-Bin). She is the type of attorney who will do anything to win a case. Vincenzo Cassano falls in love with her. He also achieves social justice by his own way.

agree with you. idk, but i prefer the storyline in the fiery priest. its jut like every person have connected to the priest who died. and the comedy in the fiery priest look natural. unlike vincenzo that sometimes feel like forced. however i like to see sjk and jyb chemistry

Apr 17 2021 9:02 pm I have seen the writer's previous works--Chief Kim and The Fiery Priest--and I could say that his writing has been consistent with his shows (themes, character, plot twists), and I am all for it. My worry is having an open-ending with the romance between the leads bcos in his two other works, both are open-ended. Please make them end up with each other because their chemistry is superb.

Shiela Apr 17 2021 6:19 pm I like Vincenzo but there are so many unnecessary scenes just to make it to 20 episodes. Everyone is trying to become hero. And I don't like the annoying tenants. The writer is trying to make so much ad libs.. which makes it boring and trying hard to make it funny. Writer should look much more into details than make the script long. I skip those unnecessary scen3s. I just want to see vincenzo fighting scene. I wonder if he is really a mafia sometimes when he goes with the tenants. He can work by his own if this is one man show. Writer should put it that way. Cause I see it a one man show.

Shaynesegi Apr 17 2021 9:21 am I was about to sleep but decided to leave a comment here after watching ep16, this drama always make me laugh and angry at the same time because some of the characters ...well I really like Taecyon because of "Let's fight ghost" drama but seeing here made me mad because of his the weirdest psychopath (but this is just a drama of course just can't help it lol) anyways Vincenzo (Jong Ki) is such a great actor I love his character here Furious yet caring but he just didn't show it and I love Hong Cha young too.

It was necessary, that was the only way to bring his mafia true way of doing things back to life. After he came to Korea he was calm, doing things with the law in mind..but now even Hong Chan won't be able to stop him and he can finally break the promise he made to her , of not killing anyone.

Tbh, it could have gone either way and it still makes sense. Either blackmail or kill her. You guys have to understand that psychopaths hate to have their ego hurt. In this case, Hanseok and Myunghee’s ego have been crushed multiple times by Vincenzo. They just want a piece of their ego back and the biggest piece is of course to hurt his mother. Blinded by rage and huge ego they chose to kill her.

By killing her, we all get to see the acting prowess of Joongki when Vincenzo is furious. We never had a scene of him filled with rage and we definitely had a treat. Mad props to the PD! It made the drama less monotone with Vincenzo being calm all the time.

Wendy Apr 13 2021 7:56 pm Jang Han Seok is either the weirdest psychopath I've ever seen in a K-drama or I watched too many "detective vs serial killer" trope drama. At this point he aren't even trying to get Vincenzo away from Babel using calculative moves, but he has been completely obsessed with destroying Vincenzo to his (Vincenzo's) core until he can't think straight anymore (same goes to Zumba Snake). No one even bothered to think 2 steps ahead (like what most psychos do). If they're still in the right sane mind, the best and only thing they need to do is to threat Oh Gyeong-ja's life and blackmail Vincenzo to leave them alone in exchange for her life, not killing her. They've seen what Vincenzo is capable of. Killing his mother is a very dumb move. I'm no mafia and not a psycho but I know in 10 seconds that it's an irrational decision. Well I guess they've dug their own graves. I can't wait to see Vincezo's revenge(s). Lowkey want him to shot all of them (except Han-seo) right there and then but it won't be fun. As Vincenzo once said, it's too merciful. They should suffer things that makes death seems so little in comparison that they beg Vincezo to finish them.

Prince Jewel Apr 13 2021 6:32 am Great Kdrama to watch. i dont feel bored in any of the episoded tbh. Though there are scenes that are unnecessary for me however its needed to complete the thought of the episode.

Its sad because it has a one week hiatus after ep16, which is i wish i did not watch until it ends. Though its a cliffhanger as usual, my take is that he will not kill lawyer myung hee instead it will serve as a warning and i think he will make sure that they ( jang joon woo and lawyer myung hee) will suffer so much that they will wish to die instead

Remember what he said to cha young after the prosecutor , the more betrayal the more that they should be careful. If he will kill they right there, i dont think that is going to be a best end for the lawyer. I wish for her to suffer a lot she deserve that

Why? Paolo always messed up because he violated the one standard; No women and no kids. That's why Vincenzo doesn't respect him. So, she survives but lives in fear.

Maybe Hong Cha-young will do it in another episode or Jang Han Seok or Mr Han or Jang Han-Seo. It won't be Vincenzo. Hong Cha-young started going a little icy in episode 11.

RahulP Apr 12 2021 5:21 pm Song Joong-ki !! Ep 16! Great portrayal! I replayed the last 15 mins for about 10 times already. The Cold look and the anger within.. its not easy to portray that so well! When he was punch-pounding the killer, his eyes got bigger with anger.. Heartfelt. The Don't-Mess-With-Vincenzo look was so real. hats-off.

Hope the last 4 eps live up on it.. they would need to be more crisp and strong now! It seems Vincenzo would give a killer punch in every remaining episode and villains will not know what to do. A Board of Chess and Blast! Can't wait longer. :-)

Han-seo is playing up the role of a fool. I think he’s getting smarter.

By the way, it seems that the worst kept secrets are the gold underneath and the guillotine file. Everyone knows about both except for the tenants and Mr Han.

Prediction at the end of the drama: Mr Han leaves. Han-seo runs Babel. Jang Han Seok kills Ms Choi. An takes over the agency. Mr Cho kills Jung In-kuk. Vincenzo runs Korea. I’m just having fun.

HCY has been doing her little parts here and there like acting, confronting, adding details on planning just fine. i feel JYB as someone who is born with 'empty-looking' eyes (watch JYB on Running Man ep 485) but on sad/crying scene her eyes speaks enough

and.. i'll never stop guessing mr.cho is evil. he framed prosecutor jung as the evil one while in fact they both are evil since before that restaurant meetup

I feel like it didn't live up to the trailer (and this is coming from someone who's been watching Song Joongki's movies and series early on). On the first episode, they portrayed Joongki as this cool, "ruthless", strong lawyer. I say ruthless because duh he killed someone. Killing is a part of his life. Through out the series, he did maintain this kind of character still. I got hooked up until episode 10 until I realized the editing team is just really good at enticing me to wait for the next episode. Whenever I watched the last episode for the week, I get so excited and cannot for the next episode but when I finally get to watch it, my excitement just drops. Like "oh, that's it after that intense preview?!"

I was expecting this series to be more on the serious side because of the trailer and duh he's a mafia!! I am not even expecting romance or anything like that. The comedy is a huge miss for me especially that there seems to be a lot of them in each episode!! What I noticed with korean series nowadays is that they are fast-paced, straight-to-the point such as Penthouse, World of the Married, flower of Evil etc. So, when they revealed that Taecyeon is the CEO of babel in episode 4, I was like "wow! they're going in right away!" But then, they only knew about it on episode 11. So far, its so slow-paced for me.

I am glad it has high ratings though because I love Taecyeon and JoongKi. The comedy just ruined it for me because I was expecting it to be more serious.

outside the box Apr 09 2021 6:05 pm i see so many comments over ppl saying there's no "chemistry" between the two main leads. let this be a wakeup call; this ain't your classic melodramatic rom-com. like ofc yes there's some hints of romance scenes and even a kiss scene. but that's not the main genre, which stubborn ppl fail to realise. it's about crime, law and government corruption etc, with some comedy too. and i don't think ppl notice how short vincenzo and chayoung's interactions seem to be, cos it's not as if they're up against a whole company and law firm that's ten times as rich and powerful and is ran by a psychotic villain that murdered his own father :) srsly if you're here for romance, just go watch love alarm or sumn. but for those of you who still haven't yet, please do go watch it. give it a chance, it's a thriller with dark comedy and some action. to me the chemistry between the leads is phenomenal, and it is a slow and steady natural buildup rather than a forced unrealistic one. they complete each other with their polar opposite personalities, chaotic extra but quick-witted female lead meets a calm and collected yet skilled male lead. and they're both lawyers

Don't hate Apr 09 2021 12:29 pm I can't believe there are people who don't like this drama. Look at the rating ffs your opinion is not popular.

First of all, Vincenzo was a lawyer for the mafia. keyword is lawyer. he gets them out of trouble legally but he doesn't do the main dirty work. only when he has to. for the people saying it started out when him killing people and it's now comedy. I assume the mafia would use theatrics to blow a case when they know they can't win

Then we have those saying SJK and JYB have no chemistry. That is just a big fat lie. just because they're not crying or don't have sad scenes each doesn't mean they don't have chemistry

JYB is excellent. First time seeing her in anything but she portrays her role wonderfully. You're just a plain hater if you don't like her. I can't wait for the whole cast to win a lot of awards.

SJK as usual is always great. You'll come for SJK and end up staying for the whole cast. Taecyeon is also great, switching characters like that. No doubt they'll sweep award shows

I know that Vin supposed to be a cold-hearted mafia lawyer or something like that, but we need to remember the genre of this drama, it has comedy in it. I think SJK portrayed Vin character really well for both his cold and comedic side. It’s not like Vin instantly being a comedic character right after he arrived at Korea. He adjusted well with geumga people and I think HCY makes a big impact in Vin's character development, since they've been working and face everything together for quite awhile now.

We all know that HCY character is a bit crazy and her mbti and Vin’s are totally the opposite. That’s why sometimes her character seems to exaggerated (she’s so different from Vin!) and I think JYB also portrayed her character really really well. I was amaze by how different she is in Vincenzo and her other works….

Lastly, the chemistry between them and the rest of the cast is just amazing and they always left a smile or laugh in my face LOL

There is ZERO chemistry between Song Joong Ki and FL. In fact SJK looks drained out as if he has to carry the weight of these scenes with her. They have toned down her silliness so she is more bearable to watch or easier to ignore. I feel sorry for her for being miscasted in this show. She would probably do a good job in another drama. But to be casted alongside a very charismatic and talented actor like SJK was a huge mistake. The disparity between their skills is too much. It just seemed like they have to "dumb down" SJK's role and character in later Episodes in order to make everyone else look good. In the later Episodes they make him do silly things with a mask. Where is that cool mafia character??

After Episode 8 with Kim Sung Chul and SJK, everything went downhill. However, there are some really good intense scenes between Taecyeon and SJK. Also liked the scenes between Taecyeon and his brother and the Wusang lawyers. Taecyeon's psychotic behavior is well depicted from how he switches from fake "nice guy" to psycho freak. I also like the secret Intelligence agent posing as the Italian chef's assistant. But this whole Tenants searching for gold scenes are tiresome. It's like they are flogging a dead horse which died 15 Episodes ago. Give it a rest and move on!!

What I would really like to watch is a drama with SJK and Kim Sung Chul along the lines of Good Manager reflecting a similar relationship between Junho and Namgoong Min. There is absolutely more chemistry between SJK and Kim Sung Chul than there is between SJK and FL in Vincenzo. SJK and KSC are an absolute delight to watch and they bring out the best of each other.

I find the female lead to be very refreshing and her character is very well portrayed. She brings out the strong but abit of an airhead type of character. Also, the female lead's acting has improved a lot after her father's death in the drama haha. Plus the comedy of this drama is so on point that I couldn't help myself from laughing. The plot is so unpredictable because there are lots of plot twists. It's definitely a must watch!

Listing down all her cringiness would take time. And remember her bland "running to Vincenzo" scene at the tunnel? Ho-hum.

Vincenzo has legit chemistry with the gay CEO and piano/hacker girl. She should have been playing the female lead character instead of the clenched teeth actress. ??

He's now one of my top Korean actors (a.k.a. my favorite oppas!). I'm "neutral" about Jeon Yeo-been. I'm not a big fan of hers but I don't hate her either. She's been doing a good job of portraying the role that's been given her. Some people are annoyed with her but she's really just portraying the character the way the writer and director want her to. Just an observation... Song Joong-ki is more "beautiful" and more flawless than Jeon Yeo-Been. = )

I was very disappointed as how writer or writers even didnt try to do a good job.

From first episode where vincenzo is standing in front of collapsing building, then it says 72 hours earlier... i was like ok now definitely more than 3 days past, shouldn't we reach that point.

Or I was so hyped where Vincenzo trapped Mrs.cha inside laundry building and threatens her that to come clean or pay the price. Which she does not, and then I was like "I guess Vincenzo has amnesia" ... And so much more weak writing like these cases. At this point I am only watching three cast members interaction and dont even care what is happening story wise

I was surprised to see Taecyeon, who I have been following for years. His slapstick silly lawyer/psychotic killer chairman is not really entertaining especially when his hair perm mop is covering half his face. It detracts from his acting performance. The director should have differentiated his personality disorder. When he is the killer chairman, his hair should be combed back, to match his smart designer wardrobe.

Never watched any Joong Ki dramas before but definitely swooning over him now in this character. Yeo Been is an exemplary female lead and a great personality to play Chayoung. Drama has its moments of funny and action scenes but overall it lacking the suspense.

I like that there no much focus on the romance but their moments are nice.

All of the supporting cast members add to the intrigue. The tenants are hilarious. And of course the actor playing the the part of the real chairman is outstanding. I can’t wait to see the final confrontation between he and Vincenzo. There are so many layers. There are so many subtle revelations which lets us know people are driven by different motivations and whatever they are determine the core of our being...will we be basically good or basically evil. This is indeed a dark comedy. When I look at an episode and immediately want to look at it again in case I missed something the first time that to me is a winner. Not once have I had the urge to fast forward because each scene adds to the plot. This is the most entertaining series I have watched so far this year.

Her character is deliberately written as annoying and weird, which makes sense to me because: 1) She was once an evil lawyer who crushed her own father, hated by many victims and even disliked by her coworkers (Vincenzo also teased her about not having many friends). 2) Her personality needs to contrast with Vincenzo to create a dynamic—she’s the one who acts silly & extra, while he’s the cold & reserved one. A female lead with character development like her is rare and so far I love how Yeo Bin portrays her. I don’t instantly like her but she grows on me every time.

About SJK no need to say, he always stable plus it's obvious that people will like it even if his acting so so just like Lee Minho case. Don't confused about real person and character. What you saw is what director instruct on every scene. No need to throw unnecessary comment to certain role. If I have to say something unnecessary, SJK is just used as eye candy and other cast get extraordinary character to balance the spotlight.

I really wish people would understand her character. Not all female leads are expected to act like 'Ko Mun Young" in IOTNBO or 'Jang Man Weol' in HDL. Please, y'all should give her a break. IMO, she perfectly complements Vincenzo's character. And damn, haven't y'all seen the way he treats her and looks at her? The man is in love!!! Lol. Of course Song Joong Ki is extremely perfect and amazing as usual. Hats off to his amazing performance. The entire cast is perfect. Everything about this drama is just amazing. I can't help but ship SJK and KSC though. Their chemistry is amazing. Tvn should give them their own drama after Vincenzo plsss. :-) If you haven't seen this drama, you're missing out big time.

The story is all over the place and the characters are not consistent (inconsistencies can make characters interesting if it add something to the story). Action scenes are well made and some scenes are funny. The real chairman is not psycho as I expected.

Hats off to Jeon Yeo-Bin for doing her best in portraying the character ( not big fan of how the character is written though).

Everyone is asking for romance and lovely-dovey moments but I want sex/bed scene before any confession( tension is there and that's enough)

Not sure if I will continue watching as I have mixed feelings but next week episode seems promising.

It is actually funny - finally there is some reflection of the brilliance of the writer who was responsible for the extremely funny Good Manager/Chief Kim. The best way to enjoy this episode is to fast forward the parts involving the Tenants of G-Plaza and also mute out/fast forward the female lead. Everyone else in the show is very good at their roles, even the gangsters played their parts well and did not exaggerate their acting to try to be funny. The Babel cast ( Taecyeon and Kwak Dong-yeon) and the Wusang legal team play their roles very well. The only major downside of this drama is the excruciatingly annoying female lead and idiotic silly Tenants. It is a delight to watch SJK and KSC acting together. This one on the other hand, is just a joke of a series. Super unrealistic, not trying to show any serious plot. Yea, keep the comedy, but use it at the correct times and dont make the whole drama into a joke.

It started with the shoots in Italy, showing a badass character that KILLS people, and we ended into this satire.

I also liked the performance of Yoo Jae-myung. They should have killed off the character of his daughter in the 1st episode and kept his character alive in the show. The lead actress and her role in the show is excruciatingly annoying and so is the entire cast representing the tenants the building. This show is purported to be a "black comedy". Song Joongki's brilliance has been brutalized by the atrociously bad acting of the female lead and the other actors (the tenants of the plaza) and the miserable attempt at comedy by the writer and director. The "comedy" is ridiculously slapstick to the point of being embarrassing. And yet this is the same writer for the brilliantly funny Good Manager. Why did he massacre this show? The only way to salvage this drama is to turn down the painful slapstick "comedy" and overacting and minimize to, almost zero, any scenes involving the lead actress. The show as it is now is only enjoyable to watch if you fast forward all the scenes with the lead actress and the tenants of the plaza. An actress like Jun Ji-hyun would have been a much better match for Song Joong Ki.

Whats the logic in not wanting to move out? Drama is filled with slapstick and ppl here r trying to sell it as black comedy. Court scene was childish but i found some parts of it very funny, the judges acting was so hilarious. Tae and kwaks scenes are always best. Idont mind taes english as i cringed ove saha eng insertions in start up or vincenzos italian. Tae needs to try and look more menacing when hes acting as chairman. There were lot of plotholes in ep 7 . I dnt get y ppl and vincenzo never try to find babel chairmans total number of children knowing frontliner isa puppet

In episode 4 ending, other than disinfecting , there were many employees inside the factory. The manager there told them to "Vacate the room ". So whether writer is going to make an illogical assumption that they went outside the whole factory just for a disinfection leaving their nightshift. And fire happens immeadetely after disinfecting agents comes out.

Prosecutor, Babel Group and Wusang knows vincenzo did that to the factory, yet why they are not looking for an evidence against Vincenzo?

First of all using narcotics in painkillers is not a new deal or a crime, it is a common practice used for chronic patients, it is even legal in South Korea but require doctors prescription to prevent its overdose and overuse which can lead to addiction.Here I am not clear about the fact that how serious the new drug mentioned by them in the series.

Now all researchers and manufacturing unit gone, Vincenzo don't have much evidence about painkiller compoents other than the painkiller itself, which will provide an upperhand for Babel in court.But on the other hand, Vincenzo can be easily accused and put behind bars for destroying the whole property.Babel has lost its core company. No forensic check on petrol or kerosene presence in fire accident. No cctv footages at gate or outskirts of factory... ????

They took up babel chemicals case 5 days ago before the first trial and the case was handed over to FL by that greedy settlement lawyer on the second day when almost 2- 3 days were left. They postponed first trial for preparation it seems. Coming to the second trial, they were gonna present just the plaintiffs statements and hospital admitted guys statement, no new evidence nothing.I think writer was gonna show some good evidence collection but nothing happened.They could have trained their witnesses in the first trial itself as there were already 2-3 days. ( Days identified from captions and theur costumes). Why they get the trial extended in the first place? To show Mr. Song is stylish, his lamborgini scenes, those lame joke scenes from first trial (hornet scene exception becoz I loved it ). The most funniest thing, they didn't even tried ir even searched for a new evidence and finally vincenzo himself have to become a witness.

The presecutor lady is more interesting. Yes, she is annoying, cruel and weird but she is smart, have good conection and have power.

Black comedy means driving humor out of morbid,shocking and otherwise unacceptable situations. Vincenzo cassano drama is nowhere even slightly close to a black comedy, its a plain comedy drama like any other thriller-comedy.

Like when we say black comedy we mean scenes where audiences will be made to laugh at death,gunshots on head,fingers body parts cut off like in deadpool when he regrows his hand. Due date american movie or parasite are examples of black comedy. Like in parasite they are doing bad things but audiences are still laughing as its portrayed comically, though i never found parasite funny.

This drama would have been black comedy if vincenzo being a ruthless mafia druglord went on doing criminal acts and brutal killings and we were shown those situations comically. But here vincenzo has turned from ruthless killer to is a kind ,super hero character savior.

Mostly people whipping out black comedy black comedy black comedy expression are those who are defending female lawyer. Her character is nothing that can ever define black comedy , the corrupt female prosecutor has more dark comedy element than female lead.

Also black comedy brigade is not undersranding that most people are not liking female leads acting. And no her character doesnt define black comedy at all. She just pouts, stomps feet, flicks her hair left right aggressively, then pouts more, acts childish etc etc all the while being portrayed as cold blooded, money hungry, tough-nut , appeasing-rich-criminal clients lawyer.

Also why people are attacking taecyon? . His acting thus far is very good. Again his character is also not B.Comedy character. Hes plain evil disguising as a dork.

The tennants characters' entire lenghty introduction part was writers attempt at black comedy as we see that all characters were doing abnormal things but they were being shown comically, like a woman beating shytt out of her son is not funny normally but here it was shown comically, chef cutting the meat brutally is not a fun sight but they tried to show it funny, so on and so forth.

Main Antagonist is not intimidating and they make him goofy. most people doesnt understand what black comedy is all about. it has definitely black humor specially when the side comedy is mixed up during dark scenes. making the puppet CEO more intimidating than the lead antagonist but after 3eps they make him really dumb and dim witted bastard. not everyone understand the context of black comedy.

Just because she still holds on to some morals doesn't mean she's any less independent and strong minded. And for those saying she depends on the ML too much, of course she would. She's trying to singlehandedly fight a huge conglomerate that has no problem killing anyone who gets in there way, it's only natural to follow the person who has experience. Y'all are forgetting Vincenzo is in the mafia for goodness sake.

Why do female character's always have to conform to something. either they're too much and bxtches, or they are too kind and spineless.

Yeo Bin is doing a great job. I like her character and all the "overacting" is part of her charm. I think there's a double standard because before we knew who Taecyeon was, his acting was definitely too much. He is also a super common face and a known person. he was in lots of scenes and yet no one said anything.

Why show the FL as a badass lawyer, which will stop at nothing to win in court, when you going to completely erase it in 4 episodes and make her a damsel in distress?

Soooooooooo many lost opportunities for something different in KDramaland. Instead we got the same old, good guys bad guys and predictable endings.

buds Mar 07 2021 1:14 pm So, let's take a look at the development of the female lead character, since she's always getting criticized. her role as a lawyer who will do anything to win, even it good or bad, real or fake. she can pretend to be an emotional woman, she can pretend to be sad woman, and suddenly laugh so hard, and of course, isn't we know that she is famous for being a crazy lawyer? after watching eps 4, I just realized that she plays her role very good. ah, and SJK as Vincenzo went from being a ruthless mafia to a kindhearted person, please keep it in mind, that's all he has to do is to convince everyone whose living in Plaza Geumga to trust him. so he can moved them out, and take all the gold that hidden under the building. thats his purpose, right? please... just enjoy this drama, the story is amazing, i love how mr writer-nim put a little plot twist (for example, i never thought that hong yu chan will die, and taecyon as the smart but cruel owner of babel group). they're all doing great for this k-drama. the comedy sometimes feels a little bit flat, but can make us laugh so hard too.good job all crew! i love it.

Action scenes are well made but character wise is a mess and the comdey is not balanced well. He suppose to be ruthless since he worked with the Mafia but after returning to Korea he become soft. Why then give this big introduction in Italy if he is going to change the moment he arrived in Korea.

Jeon Yeo-Bin is another set back of the story. I don't like how female characters is written in some k dramas. She was introduced as bad ass lawyer who will do anything to win but she seems led by her emotions and needs the ML help. It would have been better if her father did not die and was her and the law firm against her father and Vincenzo.

The real villain is not intimidating at all and over the top. 4 episodes was enough to drop it.

Hopefully his next project will be better.

Dani Mar 07 2021 10:09 am I won’t recommend this to any skeptical people who won’t even begin to understand the depth of this drama. This is not your typical comedy drama. It’s not a slapstick, nor heavy or even light. This is a very subtle comedy that not everyone will understand.

All the lines, expression and interactions between all characters must be focused so that u can enjoy the comedy. Not for everyone. This is different that Fiery Priest that is more towarda slapstick comedy.

For example; the scene where Vincenzo and HCY arrive at the court with the fancy car. I legit laughing when the scene suddenly turns out into some random other scenes. It’s like two hallyu stars on the red carpet premiere which totally absurd to be happen infront of the court! Haha

Also, yes the fl trying so hard to be funny, but not. But that’s the charm! The way Vincenzo always brush off the fl weird attitude that’s make it more charming. Her character is not trying to be funny but instead weird. The duo combined together are very in sync. There’s Vincenzo who we know actually a serious guy but always dragged along with all these weird people around him and there’s the fl who is weird, ridiculous and nonsense, trying too hard to be funny. This hard to explain, but I hope you can see it that way.

And I dunno why people won’t comment much on the main villain here. You want to compare, let’s compare okay. I remember watching fiery priest & chief kim that I couldn’t help to feel angry towards all the evil character. But I don’t get the vibe here. (except the female lawyer). My point here is, from what I can see Taecyon are the one that trying too hard right now. All the slapstick jokes really doesn’t suit him. and when he change her persona to the evil one, I don’t get the vibe maybe because still early in episodes. I felt uncomfortable whenever his character appear. It’s cringy.

Pie Mar 06 2021 1:18 pm Jeon Yeobin's character kinda reminds me of Honey Lee's in The Fiery Priest (she's a lawyer while HL is a prosecutor). they're both fun characters, independent, and fucking strong women. so i feel sorry for you if you aren't feeling for jyb's acting yet, i was so surprised to see this side of hers since her character in Be Melodramatic was a very quiet, introvert type.

it's been a few episodes so far so i can't say anything yet but i hope the plot won't disappoint me.

And the writer is known for creating eccentric leads so what’s your problem with the FL? I’m sure if you knew JYB’s past works it’s far from her character now so cut her some slack but you can’t deny that she brought her expertise in drama especially in ep. 4. And please, if you’re gonna brag here that you dropped it because you find it boring when they were just setting up the story during the first 2 eps oh well your lost. this drama has 20 eps so you can’t expect them to rush everything like what the writers do in a 16 episode drama.

The editing , female lead characterization, the building residents, all of this need to have some rework.. Watching 1 ep is like pushing the limits. Still came back for 2nd epsisode ...but naah, had to give up after 15 minutes.It’s still the same. The comic effect they are trying to bring in is just a horrible diseaster going haywire.

Other times, there are scenes that make us laugh despite being rather accurate representations of society or powerful institutions. Well I saw one video of an Italian guy review SJK Italian language skills and he was impressed somewhat. In that same video what he said made sense to me and I'm also adding my understanding.

Italian people don't get authentic Italian food outside Italy anywhere they go. They are very close and passionate to their food. So SJK is portraying that Italian aspect. Can't tolerate any non sense on food.

My understanding is he really loves his food a lot as he keeps coming back each day to make fun of Chef Toto ?

What I am curious about is why he is a intern in Wosang? Why would someone who holds so much power be willing to live a life of a intern and why is he all over Hong Cha Young??? Because when you think of his pov Cha Young isn’t someone who has power in society, why would he spend his time on her? Only thing that I can come up with is that he is in love with her but then again, why... Overall I am super excited about next ep. The acting is super and so is the storyline. People getting mind-blown by the "twist" of EP4 never actually watched Oldboy or something truly epic. Also, might even be V is step-brother to Babel's leader, due to her mother been sexual attacked by the Babel's boss. And finally, why go into a Black-White storyline? Why even show us that V is a hitman for Mafia then? Just make him some soldier or something if you are going to make him into a good guy. A more compelling story would be a true grey, anti-hero character. Make him do morally conscionable acts, kill some people, do "mafia stuff". Not this no-kill BS they are pushing now.

When her mother was work at Babel group (as a maid or whatever), she got scandal with the big boss. Ps: woman ex prosecutor now lawyer has either given the order to kill or wants to bring down the drug company after exposing het ex fellow prosecutors because they weren't respectful. Either way she had a plan. And Vincenzo ex maffia, should have better instincts. But that's part of comedy ...

seriously. The main female lead is confusing to me. She wants to be fierce, cool but act all cutesy and foolish at the same time? It is like they cannot decide which direction they want her role to be. And the older female lawyer... at this point I don't understand her purpose in this story besides being awkward and no style.

the building's female tenants behavior are idiotic, one note and are just noisy background noises that adds absolutely nothing of value to the story.

This show has potential but they just put all the effort and character building on the male characters and ignored the females.

Hong cha yong the badass and cold hearted lawyer who can beat her own father will help because her dad or because she fall in love with vincenzo or because she hate the presecutor lady, she is savage, a jerk, She gets her reputation not because connection so she should be smart, calculated and charismatic too.

I Know this is dark comedy genre drama and And i belive the writer trying to tell us that vicenzo and hong cha young has unique personality and has humor on their way.

But the lawyer.. She in not unique or humoris.. She is childis, annoying and she even does not look capable.

Oh also the intell agent.. They weird too.

Well, its fine as long as it suit your demand. Like the guy is ruthless killer,quite hardcore and tough,burns down entire estates he gotta have that badass vube which is missing in sjk. Taecyeon looks more convincing in vincenzos role as he could give that authoritative feel. Tae is clearly the nutcase chairman. Drama overall has some boredom feel to it. Many comedic scenes involving tenants arent funny,are super draggy. They should make eps shorter by leaving out unnecessary comedy. Like that zombie tenants sequence was sooo yawn worthy.

Yoo jae myung is all in all doing well,both acting and character.

The worst parts are female lead and lady prosecutor. The fiery priest female prosecutor character has been divided into two in this drama, 1. Cringey wannabe badass ahjumma, 2.) Young greedy female lawyer.

Old female prosecitors parts were so over the top,cringey that i totally skipped them. Yea we know you wanna give strong woman but ypu can do it without making it gross. I skip all her parts i dont even know what her character is even all about other than shaking bottom,kicking men and spouting thick accent.

Female lead is the worst part. She looks good and all but her characterization and acting are sinking the role. Its directors fault to have made her act this way, then the actress lacked that charm and acting skills to pull off that over the top characterization. Shes just constantly overacting, pouting, stomping feet, acting bratty and doing all of it not just before dad but everywhere from vincenzo to tenants to even in her workplace environment.

I actually watched her other drama and she was good! I’m not trying to justify her acting from her other drama to this one but others shouldn’t be quick to judge. Its only 2 eps early and I see really rude comments about her. I actually like how her character is real, i hope the writer doesn’t turn her into damsel-in-distress like other female leads since it will be off-character. I like her strong, confident and silly personality and how she still clings to her dad despite her love-hate relationship with him. I hope it becomes consistent or even grow more into character dev. in the future episodes.

I would probably say that’s the chemistry and the depth that I found in the Fiery Priest right at the beginning, as compared to this movie. The female lead’s acting is a bit exaggerating with the frowned face expressions most of the time. I would give it more time as it’s been just 2 episodes.

The first two episodes are amazing so far. Joong Ki's Italian kept on improving. Script could have more improvements because I think it was a BIT confusing. Cinematography is on point. Comedy and action's on point. And the musical score is REALLY on point. I love the classical music used. It makes it more intense, and sometimes, even comedic.

It is what makes the humor of the series.. remember the part where she acted caring to her father after their 1st court duel in the series? I think that's where they established her character to be that seemingly fake over expressing her thoughts and overly exaggerated. I think that she's really compatible with the character and she's portraying it really well so far.. though I also thought if Seo Ye-ji suits the character as well hehehe (well i just thought of that bcoz of her character in IOTNBO and she already acted as lawyer in Lawless Lawyer hehe)

Characters that get less lines and screen time than her can come off as much funnier and genuine. Her acting in this one is either a hit or miss, depending on the style of acting that you enjoy watching. To me it seems like overkill. However, to someone else she could be hilarious, who knows? I don't mean to target only one aspect of the show, but that's really my only complaint about it lmao.

anyung Feb 20 2021 9:34 pm episode 1 turns so good. expected as a slow burn crime drama after coming back to korea turns out to be misadventures of a mafia lawyer while being surrounded by a bunch of oddly eccentric people. oh i forgot park jae bum is the writter so if you like fiery priest and good manager like drama's this is really good

Man if this was a character development for him, I would gave my thumbs up, because would it be that mean characters with the innocent look.. I get that song Joong ki and taecyeon are much more well-known but that doesn't mean y'all disregard JYB and ask for another popular actress!!

The fact that JYB is casted in this drama means she is more than capable to be acting alongside these 2 great actors. The director, pd and writers etc.. sees her talent and value unlike fans who just care about having a popular actress for their 'oppa'.

There is a reason for her to be casted in this drama. Please do not send unnecessary hate to Jeon Yeo Bin. She is talented actress worthy of this role.I hope this drama could be her big break! Loved her since her debut drama!
