At the age of 8, Park Joo-Hyeong went to Italy after he was adopted. He is now an adult and has the name of Vincenzo Casano (Song Joong-Ki). He is a lawyer, who works for the Mafia as a consigliere. Because of a war between mafia groups, he flees to South Korea. In South Korea, he gets involved with Lawyer Hong Cha-Young (Jeon Yeo-Bin). She is the type of attorney who will do anything to win a case. Vincenzo Casano falls in love with her. He also achieves social justice by his own way.

kdramaenthusiast Mar 04 2021 2:05 am I know this drama is not everyone’s cup of tea but saying that they don’t want the comedy side of the drama is kinda stupid because when the drama was first announced they never hid the fact that it’s a BLACK COMEDY drama so what do you expect from it? And the writer is known for creating eccentric leads so what’s your problem with the FL? I’m sure if you knew JYB’s past works it’s far from her character now so cut her some slack but you can’t deny that she brought her expertise in drama especially in ep. 4. And please, if you’re gonna brag here that you dropped it because you find it boring when they were just setting up the story during the first 2 eps oh well your lost. this drama has 20 eps so you can’t expect them to rush everything like what the writers do in a 16 episode drama.

katsu Mar 03 2021 7:34 pm im here coz i was looking into if this drama would include romance on vincenzo's part and im kinda disappointed that it will eventually become one according to the synopsis given above lolll regardless it is good so far. just hoped that vincenzo would remain as the mysterious character he is and successfully flee korea to reside somewhere else. seems like it's gonna be pretty cliche where the bad character becomes good because of someone and then proceeds to fall in love kind of trope. the plot twist from ep 4 was not forseeable however it was obvious that ofc taecyon would not be a mere intern in the show. hope to see some mind-blowing twists. maybe an ending like from the godfather part one where the main character lives a dual life? a loving man with his family and hiding his cruel and cold side of him when dealing with his family's business as the mafia don (?) lmaoo

The scene become funny. But when it start to episode 4. Cassano Shows his power how to defeat wickedness only with wickedness. Love it, mafia scene back. wait it soon for the next episode.

Tough to watch Mar 02 2021 3:42 pm Joong ki, plaza owner and lawyer dad can only save the drama to such a length. The editing , female lead characterization, the building residents, all of this need to have some rework.. Watching 1 ep is like pushing the limits. Still came back for 2nd epsisode ...but naah, had to give up after 15 minutes.It’s still the same. The comic effect they are trying to bring in is just a horrible diseaster going haywire.

For sure Mar 02 2021 10:16 am This drama is so good, sjk's acting, plot, and all. The only thing which is quite disturbing so far is the female lead's acting. Aside from it, this drama is really recommended. For u who are wondering whether to watch this or not, then don't hesitate. It's definitely likeable.

Other times, there are scenes that make us laugh despite being rather accurate representations of society or powerful institutions. Episode 4 is just mind blowing, can't wait for the next episode. kudos SJK

Well I saw one video of an Italian guy review SJK Italian language skills and he was impressed somewhat. In that same video what he said made sense to me and I'm also adding my understanding.

Italian people don't get authentic Italian food outside Italy anywhere they go. They are very close and passionate to their food. So SJK is portraying that Italian aspect. Can't tolerate any non sense on food.

My understanding is he really loves his food a lot as he keeps coming back each day to make fun of Chef Toto ?

...this drama is really enjoyable, I got a lot of theory in my head right now but in kdrama you never know what to expect but anyway this drama is overly really gooooodddddd and yeah it makes you get all sort of emotions (for me) anyway I like all the cast they portraying their character really good.

What I am curious about is why he is a intern in Wosang? Why would someone who holds so much power be willing to live a life of a intern and why is he all over Hong Cha Young??? Because when you think of his pov Cha Young isn’t someone who has power in society, why would he spend his time on her? Only thing that I can come up with is that he is in love with her but then again, why... Overall I am super excited about next ep. The acting is super and so is the storyline. Can’t wait for upcoming weekend

People getting mind-blown by the "twist" of EP4 never actually watched Oldboy or something truly epic. Also, might even be V is step-brother to Babel's leader, due to her mother been sexual attacked by the Babel's boss. And finally, why go into a Black-White storyline? Why even show us that V is a hitman for Mafia then? Just make him some soldier or something if you are going to make him into a good guy. A more compelling story would be a true grey, anti-hero character. Make him do morally conscionable acts, kill some people, do "mafia stuff". Not this no-kill BS they are pushing now.

When her mother was work at Babel group (as a maid or whatever), she got scandal with the big boss. So she put little Vincenzo in an orphanage to erase her past n especially to protect Little V from Babel group. It's just my guess, so whatever it's right or wrong, let's see. :))

Cosima Feb 28 2021 1:06 am As much as iam a big fan of fiery priest and kim nam gil ,people shud understand this is written by the same writer .Of course there will be similarities because of the writer ,but plz dont judge this drama too soon .I really liked Song joongis performance .He really stood out and yesterdays epiosode was the best .those who watched fiery priest ongoing wud know that there were similar complaints during the start of the show and then people went on to love it after that only .so give this show a chance to show it's potential. The Third Episode Was Super Good .

As for V, his mother got framed for murder, sentenced for life. Seeing her refuse retrial because in her eyes justice is futile/irrelevant and Hong Yu Chan getting killed together with drug co's scientist researchers is tugging at V's conscience! Key words of Mr Hong "reckless, it is my fate to defend the defenseless" and "monster, ie fight fire with fire or as the Italian idiom "it takes a monster to bring down a monster". And V has lived with mafia as adoptive son, being the consigliere konws all about being a clever strategic monster, has he not?

It is obvious the bear (Vincenzo) has been poked! The tigress has been provoked (daughter of lawyer)! The game, revenge and justice, is on people!!!! Love is in the air: umbrella is the seed. Death of father will bring them closer. Can't wait to see how it's going to unfold :-)

Ps: woman ex prosecutor now lawyer has either given the order to kill or wants to bring down the drug company after exposing het ex fellow prosecutors because they weren't respectful. Either way she had a plan. And Vincenzo ex maffia, should have better instincts. But that's part of comedy ...

Oh yea..the actresses was like blind to everything and when the main actress see ppl died was still acting so normal but hey forgot to tell dad that the pharma co will kill him.

seriously. The main female lead is confusing to me. She wants to be fierce, cool but act all cutesy and foolish at the same time? It is like they cannot decide which direction they want her role to be. And the older female lawyer... at this point I don't understand her purpose in this story besides being awkward and no style.

the building's female tenants behavior are idiotic, one note and are just noisy background noises that adds absolutely nothing of value to the story.

This show has potential but they just put all the effort and character building on the male characters and ignored the females.

Vicenzo who can killing someone with smile on his face help the tenant because gold motive. He is ruthless, calm, calculated, smart and charismatic.

Hong cha yong the badass and cold hearted lawyer who can beat her own father will help because her dad or because she fall in love with vincenzo or because she hate the presecutor lady, she is savage, a jerk, She gets her reputation not because connection so she should be smart, calculated and charismatic too.

I Know this is dark comedy genre drama and And i belive the writer trying to tell us that vicenzo and hong cha young has unique personality and has humor on their way.

But the lawyer.. She in not unique or humoris.. She is childis, annoying and she even does not look capable.

Oh also the intell agent.. They weird too.

Well, its fine as long as it suit your demand. For me, the first reason to not like her is that i dont know her well, i dont watch her past drama or whatsoever about her, i just knowing her in this drama as hong cha young and yes i kinda hate her character for being too loud and miserable. She supposed to bring a badass women like the robot in the terminator, stressfull face is more suitable than this. And its really weird for strong minded man like vincenzo gonna fall for her?? What?? Mafia like her character?? Is something wrong about this storyline?? Come on, if want to make the story different from usual this is not the way...thats why people start to bark at this drama not because of jeon yeo bin or song joong ki but the synopsis and character as well. Like the guy is ruthless killer,quite hardcore and tough,burns down entire estates he gotta have that badass vube which is missing in sjk. Taecyeon looks more convincing in vincenzos role as he could give that authoritative feel. Tae is clearly the nutcase chairman. Drama overall has some boredom feel to it. Many comedic scenes involving tenants arent funny,are super draggy. They should make eps shorter by leaving out unnecessary comedy. Like that zombie tenants sequence was sooo yawn worthy.

Yoo jae myung is all in all doing well,both acting and character.

The worst parts are female lead and lady prosecutor. The fiery priest female prosecutor character has been divided into two in this drama, 1. Cringey wannabe badass ahjumma, 2.) Young greedy female lawyer.

Old female prosecitors parts were so over the top,cringey that i totally skipped them. Yea we know you wanna give strong woman but ypu can do it without making it gross. I skip all her parts i dont even know what her character is even all about other than shaking bottom,kicking men and spouting thick accent.

Female lead is the worst part. She looks good and all but her characterization and acting are sinking the role. Its directors fault to have made her act this way, then the actress lacked that charm and acting skills to pull off that over the top characterization. Shes just constantly overacting, pouting, stomping feet, acting bratty and doing all of it not just before dad but everywhere from vincenzo to tenants to even in her workplace environment.

It may be her character but her acting really makes me want to stop watching somethings. I had to start skipping through her parts because her acting and voice were so bad. I think she was just a miscasting. She just doesn't portray the character well enough for the audience to be able to sympathize with her. She is probably better in other roles.

Ketchup Feb 24 2021 2:38 am I understand why some people don’t like the female lead, her character can get annoying at times but to me, I think thats how her character has to come out since its a dark comedy for a reason. I actually watched her other drama and she was good! I’m not trying to justify her acting from her other drama to this one but others shouldn’t be quick to judge. Its only 2 eps early and I see really rude comments about her. I actually like how her character is real, i hope the writer doesn’t turn her into damsel-in-distress like other female leads since it will be off-character. I like her strong, confident and silly personality and how she still clings to her dad despite her love-hate relationship with him. I hope it becomes consistent or even grow more into character dev. in the future episodes.

Her expression and gesture really another level. Thought this drama gonna be like action and deadly but it was so entertaining. Like, when things start getting hot...they pour cold water on us. So thrilled and refreshing. Looking forward for upcoming episode where Vincenzo and Chayoung teamed up to fight justice :)

I would probably say that’s the chemistry and the depth that I found in the Fiery Priest right at the beginning, as compared to this movie. The female lead’s acting is a bit exaggerating with the frowned face expressions most of the time. I would give it more time as it’s been just 2 episodes.

Anne Feb 22 2021 4:28 am Watched for Yoo Jae Myung and Jeon Yeo Bin :") Though Jeon Yeo Bin's character may not be her best one because it seems a bit awkward and out of place, it's still pretty good. I REALLY like her character's dynamics with Jae Myung.

The first two episodes are amazing so far. Joong Ki's Italian kept on improving. Script could have more improvements because I think it was a BIT confusing. Cinematography is on point. Comedy and action's on point. And the musical score is REALLY on point. I love the classical music used. It makes it more intense, and sometimes, even comedic.

It is what makes the humor of the series.. remember the part where she acted caring to her father after their 1st court duel in the series? I think that's where they established her character to be that seemingly fake over expressing her thoughts and overly exaggerated. I think that she's really compatible with the character and she's portraying it really well so far.. though I also thought if Seo Ye-ji suits the character as well hehehe (well i just thought of that bcoz of her character in IOTNBO and she already acted as lawyer in Lawless Lawyer hehe)

Characters that get less lines and screen time than her can come off as much funnier and genuine. Her acting in this one is either a hit or miss, depending on the style of acting that you enjoy watching. To me it seems like overkill. However, to someone else she could be hilarious, who knows? I don't mean to target only one aspect of the show, but that's really my only complaint about it lmao.

Because looking at the trailer i thought that it would be more like crime drama. But after watching 2 ep, it feels like crime-comedy. Idk, it's just my personal opinion.

Song Jong Ki is acting is top-notch of course, i would like to see more of his fight scene and cunning scheme than the other actors. I just haven't feel the chemistry, like between he and the others. But i still have to watch some more of the episode.

The fact that JYB is casted in this drama means she is more than capable to be acting alongside these 2 great actors. The director, pd and writers etc.. sees her talent and value unlike fans who just care about having a popular actress for their 'oppa'.

There is a reason for her to be casted in this drama. Please do not send unnecessary hate to Jeon Yeo Bin. She is talented actress worthy of this role.I hope this drama could be her big break! Loved her since her debut drama!
