A group of people are called "Counter." Their purpose is to hunt down evil spirits and they each have their own special abilities. The group disguises themselves as employees at noodle restaurant.

So Mun (Joe Byeong-Gyu) is a high school student and he is the youngest member of "Counter." His special ability is his physical strength. As a child, he was involved in a suspicious car accident. His parents died in the accident and he was left with a limp in his left leg.

Ga Mo-Tak (Yu Jun-Sang) is a former police officer. He had an accident 7 years ago, which caused him to lose his memory. He is a righteous person.

Do Ha-Na (Kim Se-Jeong) can sense evil spirits from hundreds of kilometers away. When she touches someone, she can read their memories.

Chu Mae-Ok (Yum Hye-Ran) is the chef of the noodle restaurant. She is the anchor of "Counter."

Choi Jang-Mool (Ahn Suk-Hwan) is the first "Counter” of Korea. He is in charge of managing expenses fr the group.

I also salute Kim Sejeong for her versatility. She belongs to action drama genre. She is really good in action scenes. I hope she'll do more of this genre because it suits her well. Im 10 episode-in, in Uncanny Counter but the betrayal on this episode is just surreal. How can Wigen request So Mun's removal from counter, she's supposed to be his partner and understand why he did what he did but noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... since he almost killed her while in the process of discovering his abilities she still wants him gone.How petty is that. In the first place, it's not like he wanted to join their team; he was "recruited" by wait for it---*drumroll --- Wigen.

We may not be a counter that can help others but we have giving our best on this life to be a blessing to our families and to others. I have realized so many life lessons while watching this drama. OCN thank you for creating this wonderful drama. I especially love the life of Cho Motaek Ahjumma since I'm a mother myself. But all the characters they all have beautiful life descriptions. Once again congratulations for this brilliant drama.

The story was fresh and felt for the most part the the story line did not get stale as can be the case for may series lasting 16 episodes. Good job from all the actors. I must say that the series seemed to lose a bit of its edge after about episode 12. Coincidence that the original writer left...I don't know. Just felt that episodes in the beginning were a little stronger than episodes near the end.

All in all really enjoyed it and would definitely watch a Season 2!

This drama is now one of my few favorites. Hoping to see the same cast when they do the second season. I'm rooting for Han Na and So Mun, also Mae OK and Jang Mul! I hope they will let the 2 best friends be more involved next season. Also, I am kind of curious, will Shin Hyeok U have some character plot twist?

My rate is 9/10 ❤️ lost 1 because probably the final fight with the evil spirit was kinda mediocre for me lol hopefully to see more side characters in season 2 because I love the grandparents and so mun friends so much. Never waited for another season since almost all kdramas with new season came with crap. I just wish new season will be as good as this one or better. I wish...

I rarely watch dramas that are currently airing. The last drama that I've watch was 49 days. This drama is exceptional and amazing.

From the screenwriting (I do not see any difference with the replacement of writers) and directing- the plot and its storyline, the unique supernational and action scenes and superb characters. Perfect 10 out of 10. It is underrated really. But it still makes history in OCN.

I love Sumon, Mo Tak, Hana and Mrs Chu- all of them are superb. Even the Yung counters and the villains act well and contributes to the drama to make it amazing and wonderful!

Cannot wait for the The Uncunny Counter Season 2 this year! Aja!

The writing is great, the acting is amazing, and the direction and production values are right up to par with the rest of it. There's a good reason the U.S. 'steals' Korean ideas and remakes them. I'm also watching Run On, and I like that as well, though it's a bit lighter and less involving.

I really hope they decide to pick this one up for a few more seasons. I want to see Ha-Na realize she digs Mun, and I want to see Jang-Mul and Mae-Ok pursue their relationship...they're so cute together, and it's obvious that he's been in love with her for a long time.

@Bella: It's not that Mun wasn't strong enough to push the kid away, it's that he's a kid and Mun didn't want to hurt him, even though it meant he might lose the opportunity to send Sin to the afterlife and see his parents one more time. The reason they needed Mun to summon Yung's Territory is so that he wouldn't be weakened...so the idea that he'd be too weak to overcome a child is not very well founded.

You can feel them doing the fight scenes like its real. Hoping they don't get into an accident while they filmed it. We know that this is a fictional drama and yet the actors performance looks like real which is really the deal here. To entertain their audience and be authentic as their character needed to deliver. I like the curly hair , the customs, the get together while eating and cooking. The idea of family , love and friendship is being shown here. Too bad it's almost ending but I hope it's a happy one and continue to show great drama line. I highly recommend this drama !

K-DRAMA IS MY LIFE!!! Jan 18 2021 8:02 pm I have a lot of words to say about this specific K-drama and not a lot of space to write, so I will keep it short-ish. Before I get into a large rant about why this K-drama is one of the best that I have seen in forever, I want to say that if you want something to watch just for the fun of it or need something to watch in general, then definitely watch The Uncanny Counter! You won't regret it a single bit, I assure you. This is a fantasy K-drama and some adults might call it childish and such, but know that many adults like anime and sci-fi as being an adult is not all fun and games. We may have privileges but we also have responsibilities and our innocence goes away slowly. Sometimes we would like to have something exciting happen in our lives (I know I do). Anyways, onto the rant about this particular K-drama. First of all, the plot is great so far and the suspense keeps me drawn into watching the next episode and the next. Second, the cast is really good at acting, especially since they are all 30+ years old. I hope if/when they have a second season that the same main cast is in it. Warning: SPOILER ALERT ahead! The emotions that they display is so captivating and feels so real that I end up crying or getting angry at the bullies and evil spirits or getting a burst of euphoria when something good happens to the cast (like when Choi Jang-Mul acted as So-Mun's guardian and helped him with the bullies' parents). NO MORE SPOILERS after this. Third, the relationships between the characters are so heart-warming and lovely. This K-drama is so good that it got me to write a review of it here and I don't do that often. So that's saying something. That is all. Thank you for reading this long-ass comment of mine.

Did you not watch the entire episode? They clearly said people with powers will be weakened by the barrier, that means people without powers (i.e the little kid) will be stronger than So-mun since they were within the barrier.

This drama is definitely the best drama that I have watched in a while! I've been a K-drama fan for more than 10 years and I consider this as a gem. It doesn't need some hot good looking actors to begin with. The flow of the story, the script, the cinematography, the effects, The Acting, the Actors (both antagonist and protagonist).. Everything blends perfectly well. This is a masterpiece! Highly recommended!!!! If you are still thinking if you'll watch this or not, for God's sake, do not hesitate and Start It Nooow!

Every episodes kept me entertain and I just love the casts, great chemistry. I'm falling all the counters plus Ahn Suk Hwan but especially Kim Se Jeong. She's so beautiful and talented. This drama is 10/10

but this drama is so good, honestly i watched this cause of sejeong and if i'm gonna totally honest this is the best drama she's ever been in yet. her other 2 were good but this really hit me.

And I did not disappoint all my friend who watch it because it's so amazing and yeah it's true you're like watching live action anime and the plot is unpredictable.. I feel angry to the villain and satisfied when Mun and the team beat them but I hate it when they disqualify Mun for being counter.. I am looking forward for more action.. anyways ep11 is so heartbreaking..

kim Jan 09 2021 10:13 am This drama is just amazing from start and hopefully to end. In the past 3 years, i have never watched a drama that keeps me on my toes as much as this one. The cast, acting, plot and literally everything is extraordinary. There are a lot of comments saying they rarely write reviews and this too applies to me(this is my first). This drama is truly amazing and by far my number one. Usuallly dramas like this tend to get boring and dragged throughout the end but I have no doubts about this dramas ending. SPOILER! Ep. 10 was just an emotional roller coaster and if you watched the full ep you would know how the writers toy with your heart. It is so bittersweet but I love it. The amount of tears produced because of this one episode is actually crazy.

For sure Jan 09 2021 2:04 am I rarely write review about dramas. But this one is definitely recommended. If you still aren't sure whether to watch this or not, don't hesitate this is definitely worth it.

It isn't too stressful, the story it's actually close to reality if you removed their powers. I hope they keep up the good work, because I've watched some OCN drama who have another season like voice but it doesn't have the same charm as first season.

I like watching Do Hana. She is so cool! Kim Sejeong plays her role very very well.. From a cute and cheerful girl in School 2017, to a calm and strong one in The Uncanny Counter. I can't ask for more. Seeing girl's fighting scene in a Korean drama? I am sure it will be satisfying to watch this drama!

Everything's picture perfect. And to make it better, every episode is a tear jerker! OCN has outdone other cable channels again with this. No wonder the 3rd episode doubled the rating.
