When Pyo In-Sook (Ahn Eun-Jin) was a child, her parents abandoned her. After that, she was raised by her grandmother. Her life has never been easy or comfortable. She now works at a public bathhouse, scrubbing customer's bodies. Her self-defensive mechanism is to not express her feelings to other people. One day, Pyo In-Sook hears from a doctor that she doesn't have much time left to live and she is unable to even express her feelings at that time. Pyo In-Sook meets two patients, Se-Yeon (Gang Ye-Won) and Mi-Do (Joy), at a hospice for women. Se-Yeon is an ordinary housewife, but lives a lonely life. Mi-Do is a popular influencer on social media.

Meanwhile, Woo-Cheon (Kim Kyung-Nam) got involved in a murder case. Since then, his life has completely changed. He works at a private detective office. He does anything, even illegal things and he is not afraid of anything in his life. One rainy day, he meets Pyo In-Sook.

I found that it wasn't necessary to push some lesbian agenda. Not that I have a problem with it at all, but these days it's almost like an obsession to represent causes that aren't problematic to start with.

It's tragedy, beauty, subtleties, reality, a wealth of different aspects, fates, dilemmas, and an absolute piece of artwork of a love scene at the end of episode 8. Omg, the people who put this together are incredibly talented! Besides that, the casting and the photography are amazing.

Ahn Eun Jin really is a really good actress. You can appreciate her more if you only watch her in Hospital Playlist.

Just frustrating on some part but overall it is very good.

The One and Only Feb 12 2022 9:24 am I also think that the main leads' romance was really beautiful in the last 2 episodes. The whole idea of "the one and only" - han saram an was explained beautifully. If there are only 12 episodes, I think the story will have more impact. ^^

The One and Only Feb 12 2022 9:15 am Spoilers. Finished watching ep 16 and the last 2 episodes really made me bawl my eyes out. The meaning of this drama was really portrayed at the end. Really love the message at the very end. "All humans die. The only difference is whether or not you know when you will die. Let's try our best to live until then." T_T

I personally think this drama is too long, I think it will be perfect with 12 eps. They can make the murder/serial killing story shorter so it will be focusing on the trio's lives and also the patients at the hospice.

Nevertheless, it's one great melodrama. Prepare your tissue!

I am disappointed by the negative comments and that it didn't do well in South Korea - I can only surmise that it was because there were neither ghosts, goblins, nor zombies by the end of the drama. Those that chose to skip this drama, are truly missing out on a beautiful and tastefully done drama.

I've seen a lot of dramas and I typically enjoy romantic comedies but this drama pulled me and didn't let go - ever. This is a story of three women brought together by circumstances that remained together through the power of love and hope. This is not a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud drama. This is about real life, real people, and real circumstances. Unlike The Red Sleeve, where I cried during the last 2 episodes and felt as if I needed therapy for several weeks following the conclusion, I was choked up with tears for the last two episodes of The One and Only but was not sad at the end. Instead, I was deeply moved by the storyline. I found it original and eagerly awaited the release of each episode.

There is a romance storyline which is a love most people can only dream of having with someone. Secondary characters are all well cast, performed and endearing. I was disappointed that Do Sang-Woo did not play a larger role as he's a favorite of mine.

I agree. And I think Joy really portray Mido's unstable, craving-for-love tendency so well. She just wants to be loved, and when she feels like she's getting it, she will be overjoyed. But that makes her anxious. That doesn't give her joy.

That's why I'm really hoping to see her character development in the remaining 2 episodes. I really hope she can "come to her sense", knowing who really loves her and who doesn't. JP seems to have emotional deprivation and lack of affection from his parents too. But, I don't think Mido will be blinded by love once she knows what's on his sleeve. She's craving for affection and love, but I hope she's sober enough because she once said to Seyeon that one shouldn't be in love with a murderer.

If this character in real life the hell I annoyed.. Just saying.. Its the character I annoyed.. Not the actress.. Its a compliment okay..

The main leads literally have no emotion, guess that’s how they are meant to act but they are making the show so boring, n what’s happening with the leads hair!! Looks so bad! Toao Feb 04 2022 4:02 am After 12 eps I can say the story of the 2 main leads is getting boring and has no development. Their acting is so good but the writing is bad. The only interesting story now is Mido and Jipyo story. Joy’s acting is so good and I think she suits the villain or the savage character the most than the innocent girl. One thing I’m sure about is AEJ and KKN will get more big roles in the future and Joy will get more acting projects

T Feb 04 2022 12:46 am This drama started off promising but it is dragging on with the same old crap each episode with nothing new and not really progressing. It’s to the point you can skip through most of the episodes and you are not missing much. This should have been one of those 8 episodes dramas because honestly there is no need for 16. Also this is the second drama I am watching that has Joy staring in it and tbh again I need to fast forward through all her parts because I can’t…I don’t know why the roles she plays grates my nerves.

I've been watching aince the first ep and the story got me hooked. Their acting are great, especially Ahn Eun Jin, Kyung Nam, and Joy. Be aware this is a melodrama, so it's supposed to be mellow and heartbreaking. Some of the things do not make sense (especially related to the police), but I'm still hoping it will end well. I do agree the pace is slow and personally, I think it can be made into 12 eps instead of 16. Nevertheless, if you're into melodrama, you should give this one a try.

ttgzns Feb 02 2022 5:31 am NGL 40% of the reasons I stay tuned to this drama was for Lieutenant Jo Shi-Young. But why is his character just cut off in the middle? He was fired because going against his superior order during the investigation and then that's it? I think it is just unfair because he was the few officers that were actually investigating the right way, other police are just dumb and caught in the media play. His role is important but...yeah suddenly gone

And they make the police looks stupid. I can’t understand the love story between the main casts. It just make no sense. Please, if you planned to watch this drama, don’t just don’t.

I keep watching now just for Mido and Jipyo story, but for acting all the 4 leads are amazing and I’m really impressed by Joy’s acting this time

I notice I am rooting for the antagonists who are also the leads - which is not spoiler ss you find out in like episode 1! Also it feels like you don't really know how it is going to end, yes there obvious things that we know will happen, but how it will unfold is a mystery. Ohh and the character development is sublime even for the extras! I am really surprised that rating for this show is so low. But I would urge you to give work cause the the writing is really good, the pacing is slow but I think it is good contrast (and possibly intentional) for dealing with an illness

I would highly recommend watching it, especially if you don't mind crying! This drama is outstanding.

One of the best melodrama so far. I cried at most episodes. Kim Kyung Nam has the best emotions even just through his eyes. The lead actress and other cast has the best chemistry.

If you want to avoid a drama that will stir up any deep emotions within you, or if you are seeking a drama where you can predict the ending because you've seen the same storyline over and over and everyone is rich, successful, beautiful, and filled with happiness, this is not the drama for you.

I finished episode 10, and I have no idea how this drama will end. The only thing I know right now is that the writers have created a storyline that has touched my soul through its brushes with the hard realities of life. The main characters are amazing, I'm a fan of both Ahn Eun-Jin and Kim Kyung-Yun - each of who are providing award-winning performances. Secondary characters are equally well cast and contribute to the magnificence of the drama. I hope Do Song-Woo and Han Kyu-Won are recognized for their roles.

I hope see kore of Joy into suspense/thriller drama. My dream role for Joy is to be a hot assassin or killer. More power to the cast and let's all support Joy and other cast.

I don't emotionally budge much for films or TV but this one had me on waterworks a few times. ***SPOILER ALERT AHEAD****I will say I was a bit bummed when I found out their past connection because I had just said "Is there any K-drama I will watch that Wont have them already know each other from either their past life or their younger years? Because honestly it's so overplayed it isn't even enjoyable anymore...you can guess it asap so the wow factor is gone. However, the themes of the rest of the show are very interesting and well played IMO. I know there are haters but I feel the leads are absolutely great for their roles.

The One and Only Jan 15 2022 9:52 am After watching eps 8, I'm looking forward to the upcoming episodes. Really curious of what's happening and the twists. Some questions that are not yet answered: - What's the relation of Park Du Jin (the rapist that was just released and killed) with all of this? Was Ha Yeong Gun related to him? - How about Mido and Soyeon's past? I feel like there's more to it - Is Jipyo's dad also related to all of the wrongdoing? It might be related to illegal business and such (probably related to pornography/sex industry) And I'm really hoping Tae Il will not get killed and Ju Shi Yeong (the lieutenant) will eventually be on their side.

I hope the filming will continue soon as there's suspected covid case among the staff.

hihihello Jan 13 2022 8:45 am Something feels off about this drama. Sometimes the transition of the scenes are too fast, sometimes the dialogue is too much/too long. Nevertheless, it's an interesting drama. I just hope that there will be twists and more interesting things to come. I feel like I'm reading too much into the lines and such, hoping that it will unveil into something interesting. I wonder if it's the case or they just don't mean anything (like what happened to lieutenant Jo that made him got suspended is one of them).

Anyway, this drama is interesting so far and looking forward to more exciting episodes in the future.

The suspense/crime component will keep you intrigued while the romance element between the two leads will have you sniffling into a tissue. Secondary characters are fantastic and a great balance to the two main characters - I found my heartbreaking for In-sook and Woo-Cheon - that we have to wait almost a week between the next episodes will be a struggle.

Don't miss out on this drama - you will quickly get caught up in each of the character's storylines as they pull at your heartstrings.

It honestly feels so refreshing and I love how In Sook, Mido, and Seyeon's bond suddenly formed, it was unpredictable but I like how they tell each other things they haven't told anyone before and started to support each other. It's weird but each of their stories and paths are so intriguing, I can't wait to see what happens next!

Yoori Dec 31 2021 6:15 am This one drama plot that i wouldn't want to watch because the ending would be heartbreaking. In addition to that, I'm quite fussy in watching a series. But this one got me hooked. I just love the company of In Seok, Se Yeon and Mido. Quite refreshing to see Kim Kyung Nam in the male lead role.

I just appreciate how each character navigate a life of pain and limits. This drama made us appreciate what we have now.

I appreciate how she has been studying acting and is taking on a very different type of role. She's very dedicated. I also love the chemistry between Ahn Eunjin, Kang Yewon, and Park Sooyoung already. Praying for a great storyline, great cast chemistry and good character development for SeongMido especially, because those are what Joy's previous roles were missing. I watched all her dramas and her potential to go big is definitely there! when u compare her improvement in TLAHL to Tempted <3 SeongMido is such a different character than Joy has every played in her last two stints, and its the kind ive been waiting the most from her!
