Shin Woo-Yeo (Jang Ki-Yong) is a handsome and smart professor. He is also a 999 year old nine-tailed fox. To become a human, he collects human energy in a bead. Soon, he is set to become a human.

Meanwhile, Lee Dam (Hyeri) is a university student. One day, her drunk friend falls asleep on top of an expensive car. She apologizes to Shin Woo-Yeo, who is the car owner. While Lee Dam struggles to take her friend away, Shin Woo-Yeo gives her a hand. An accident happens that changes their fate. Shin Woo-Yeo's bead falls out of his mouth and Lee Dam unintentionally swallows it. The bead can exist inside of a human for no more than 1 year and, afterwards, the bead will break inside of that person. This will cause Lee Dam to die and Shin Woo-Yeo will lose his chance to become a human. Shin Woo-Yeo explains to Lee Dam their predicament and suggests that they should live together until they figure out a solution.

Lee Dam, who has never had a boyfriend in her life, now lives with Shin Woo-Yeo.

I really love his acting. He has a great chemistry with Hyeri. I really appreciate their acting. I recommend this series to all who like to watch rom com dramas. I started watching this months back but stopped in the middle of episode 1 (forgot why)… Then started watching it again this week, got so hooked and finished the series the following day! I loved that even though there was a love triangle, that you have assurance from both leads that no can and will break their relationship, regardless if it was a holy being trying to separate them, nothing will come in between!!! Love love love this!

I just feel so hurt when he cries..he ways cries ? this is an underrated Drama that deserves to be watched and enjoyed.

mikade Oct 10 2022 4:43 am My heart actually ached for Sunwoo sunbae but this has always been the fate of second leads ㅠㅠ I also had a strong SLS because of him but I still love WooYeo and Dam's pairing and I'm rooting for them till the end. I love Jang Ki Yong' and Hyeri's chemistry. Glad that they got their happy ending. I was also hoping for SooKyung and Seok sunbae to end up together. That scene in the final episode where they had a red thread connecting between them because of his jacket and her ring really made me laugh a lot. Haha

Nazar May 31 2022 5:40 am The story of this drama is very interesting, but kinda boring to watch because the main characters don't have the chemistry that is needed for a romance comedy drama. I liked the fantasy, I think it was the only entertaining thing to watch besides Jae-Jin and Hye-Sun's relationship.

It was also hard for me to finish, because there are episodes I thought were boring and dindn't want to finish so stopped watching the series, after a while I was curious about what will furter happen because of accidentally seeing any spoilers or edits on TikTok and ended up continuing it.

In my opinion Dam should've ended up with Sun-Woo, I think the reason for the missing chemistry between Dam and Woo-Yeo was that Hyeri's character (Dam) had to be more childish and clingy while Ki-Young (Woo-Yeo) had to act mature and grown up. They are also not a great match because of the age difference in the drama I felt like Woo-Yeo was a pedofile or something like that. I know many people say age difference doesn't matter, but sometimes it does.

The kissing scenes were very uncomfortabe and cringe to watch, because I had the fact in mind that she used to call him "Sir" to show respect to him as an elder and how he once said he sees her like a nephew to him. It fet weird to watch them as a couple kissing, holding hands etc.

In-Hyuk (Sun-Woo) is in reality younger than Hyeri (Dam) but he would've been a better match for her.

I am personally Turkish and I think even some of the weirdest Turkish dramas are more exiting than this one, definitely not in my list of favourites.

A 4.5/10 for me, sorry. :((

Tom May 09 2022 7:38 pm Very good show. I got really hooked on this one. A very good blend of fantasy, romance and the classic theme of 1 woman and two competing guys. Hyeri and Jang Ki Yong are excellent as the leads. Jang Ki Yong does a good job portraying someone who is cold and remote who transforms into a warm and caring individual. Supporting cast was good with shout outs for Kang Han Na as Yang Hye Sun. She did a very good job of portraying a woman changing from cold to one discovering romance. And I’m a big fan of Park Kyung-Hye. I love her facial expressions. She plays a friend of Lee Dam (female lead). The last two episodes are very intense and emotional, I was not sure of the outcome until it happened. One minor negative is: The obvious product placement of Subway. We see characters eating at Subway in many Korean dramas.

I'm just not okay with Hyeri's acting on this one kinda reminds me of her acting on Reply 1988. The drama was okay but could've been better since it is kinda slow-paced.

I also love sun woo's chracter. It's sad because hyeri's acting here still reminds me of her character as Deok sun in reply 1988. And i felt like she's been trapped in that kind of character. The show could have been better. This is sad. 5/10 for me.

This Kdrama deserve much more recognition .I think it is one of the best Kdrama. The cast especially Hyeri and Jang Kiyong portrays the characters superbly. The chemistry of the lead character is just phenomenal . Acting, director screenplay production and the OST is just perfect?

MRIAG is the best that I have watched since Reply 1988 My Mister Crash Landing on You Something in the Rain Move to Heaven Squid Game. I hope MRIAG will be shown in Netflix .

They were very comfortable and natural together (and shy or passionate as the script required). Lots of funny scenes and a sweet romance. It's just that the main leads does not have much of a character development throughout the drama, I actually like Sun-woo's character more. I don't see the main leads' chemistry too, so I found myself skipping their scenes. Woo Yeo's (Ki Young) sincerity and actions appears more like a father figure rather than a romantic love interest. Jye jin and Hye sun as a couple is way more funny and interesting. But I find the comedy aspect effective. 5.7/10

I laughed a lot while watching thru all episodes, Hyeri as Lee Dam is one hilarious roommate for a wise & serious Euroshin Gumiho while other casts suit well with the whole story line. it's a 8/10 from me, quite entertaining.

Good thing the side characters are very interesting. Plot: 7/10, pretty dull and basic plot nothing extraordrinary. Acting: 7/10, it was fine. OST: 2/10, nothing is remarkable. Cinematography: 8/10, I like it. Overall: 7/10, a decent drama.

P.S. I like Seonwoo, his character is very interesting and Bae Inhyuk is so Pogi!

It’s perfect for those like me that like the fantasy romantic comedy genre and want a solid story with a nice romance. one of my favorite kdrama. Luckily, overall, it was a very solid and enjoyable drama. I liked that the fantasy element with the gumiho mythology that was nicely woven throughout the story.

Jiyuu Oct 23 2021 7:29 am I understand why people like this. It is easy to recommend for those who like forced cohabitation/school romcoms with bits of fantasy.

I enjoyed nearly all of the various relationships and interactions in this series (the friends, the two sets of siblings, the secondary and tertiary OTPs). I liked the production as a whole (the colors are nice, the animations are funny) and didn't mind the paper-thin fantasy. Our leads Jang Ki Yong (as Shin Woo Yeon) and Lee Hyeri (as Lee Dam) also make one good-looking pair.

However, as the show progressed, the main OTP (and their issues) bored me. So much so that somewhere from the middle of the drama until the end I was fast-forwarding most of their angsty/contemplative/sugary moments and just wanted to see everyone else instead.

I'm sure a lot of people loved their swoony moments the way the writer intended them to be. But it just didn't work for me. Woo Yeon was written way too calm, passive, and dull for my tastes. He ruminated by his window too much and he kept Dam in the dark a lot of times. I only looked forward to his moments with our ditzy ex-gumiho Hye Sun (played by Kang Han Na) because he comes alive every time with their petty arguments.

As for Lee Hyeri herself, I liked her in the little bit I've seen her in the reality shows before (We Got Married bits and House on Wheels premiere). Her brand of comedy here is rarely seen in dramaland nowadays. She reminds me a bit of the (slightly) embarrassing FLs in older kdramas like Lee Da Hae in My Girl and Kim Sun Ah. I liked her here but I hope she chooses more diverse projects after this so she won't be typecast.

Anyway, all the supporting characters and their story arcs were fun and interesting so I'll probably rewatch this for them. I'll just be fast-forwarding through the scenes of the OTP.

Somethings odd , this is the first time fells weird about the love story, I feel sad toward Gye Sun Woo , why? Because he is human and powerless , but it seems like lee dam is sick in love with shin woo eventhough sun woo loves toward her is sincere

And at the end sun woo is the one who leaves ( study abroad ) i feel like producer dont know how to wrap up this character .

Hyeri acting is the best, But sorry im not into jang ki young acting , he is baddass handsome Bae in hyuk future top actor Kang hanna great i do love it

DJBIANCAFROST Oct 02 2021 5:36 am I've always liked Hyeri and among all her other romantic partners in shows/series, this is got to be the perfect one for her. Jang Ki-Yong and her looked like a real couple with their sweet little kisses. Also, Hyeri isn't all those other actresses who just close her lips and act cold when it comes to kissing scenes.

Besides the 2 leads, I absolutely adore the 2nd leads in Kim Do-Wan (Jae-jin) and Kang Han-Na (Hye-Sun), my God, they're are the sweetest and cutest 2nd leads ever! I have watched Hang Han-Na before in Familiar wife and though I know she's pretty, I thought her acting was bland but this series made me changed my mind. There were times her funny acting and voice, (being a new human and not knowing a lot), makes her sounds and acts like JUN JI HYUN (from her character in Legends of the Blue Sea). There were even times that her team up with Jae-jin stole most of the show part.

One of the most favorite comedic actress I really like was also in this series - Park Kyung-Hye as Song Kyu!!! Since I watched her in Goblin as a ghost, I've always liked all the other shows she steps in. I hope to see more of her.

This series is 10 out of 10 for me - me being a scriptwriter and an absolute picky when it comes to movies and shows local and international, I really can't find any boring part. I wish to see either a season 2 or another series where the casts are all in.

P.S Could they also make a new series about the young brother and young sisters there of Dam and Sun-Woo ?

Koontz Sep 16 2021 12:13 am @Lucky i know, right? I mean, he's literally like the Best male lead character i've ever seen so far in kdrama land. He is very understanding, polite, mature. Those qualities of him outshine every male lead character in the romcom genre and the portrayal of Woo yeo and Dam's relationship was the healthiest imo in a sense that they actually communicate and solve every challenges given in a span of an episode. These fact makes this show unique and lovable aside from the unearthly gag lol

He made her as a bet since the beginning, but he became a better person after knowing more about Dam. It's a good drama to relieve stress anyway. Basically it is being well received. Hyeri is right for the lead female, her humour and charisma comes across perfectly and Han-Na is just unquestionably better for the Female cold sophisticated and slightly quirky Gumiho. But I love the descriptives used by the writer, they are poetic and romantic. Love it Love it Love it

The priduction team really chose the wrong female lead..she cannot match up to Jang Ki Yong 's charisma...what a waste ??? i may have to forego this drama, but will still give it a try for Ki Yong's sake. C Aug 17 2021 3:09 am I like Sun Woo more, Is it just me? I knew he was awful at first but he changes a lot and his character is interesting instead of the 999 years old Gumiho who's like every other drama, (Tale of a Nine Tale, for example)

I wish there were drama where the Gumiho doesn't fall in love but had a sad tragic, it'll honestly be better in my opinion. Stories about a supernatural creature falling in love is way to common.

This drama is very funny, I am very entertained. Jang Ki-young It's very sweet here as well as Hyeri. This is my first time watching Hyeri's drama. People say the character here is very similar to the drama Reply 88, because I've never watched it That drama too so I don't know. The point is that I like their acting, they are both very good and harmonious. Even though Hyeri is already owned by actor Rye JeongYeol hehe. And I also like Second Cast players. They Both are also very sweet and adorable. ahh anyway this drama is very good and not boring at all.

You guys have worked hard and it paid off with the amazing chemistry you showed on and off screen garnering a lot of love and buzz in diff social media platforms (i've actually stumbled (really) upon hundreds (LOL) of MRIAG contents on tiktok, twitter, fb and on yt).

Len Jul 27 2021 12:29 am The drama is so so or I might have high expectations in the beginning since the actors included in the drama are all good. The plot od the story is good but I thibk issue is the script and the directing of this drama. Scenes were nice but those scenes were not impactful enough. The actors were great but the lead character's sweet and cringey moments were somehow forced (agree to ahyeri die hard fan). There's a lot of moments where the scenes were dragging and had to skip most of the time. The script could have been improved and scenes could have been more dramatic since it's a romcom. It's a total waste of talent and resources. This drama could have been a lot better.

a hyeri diehard fan Jul 26 2021 9:45 am I started watching this drama because of Hyeri. to be honest, its a bit hard to finish this drama. First half was interesting, but then later part after dam confessed is too draggy and boring. Comedic scenes in this drama in my opinion are better put in webtoon format only. In the drama, it looks so 'artificial' or forced, and its cringey sometimes X""D. Love triangle is almost felt non exist lol, felt bad for seonwoo that his character has little impact to the story. Wooyeo is just already too good to be rivaled with him. They shouldve put some effort to make seonwoo a lil bit more likeable :"D. Its pity that i think this drama has potential to be a better show. I feel like screenwriter didnt put their full capacity in this drama. I think it would be okay if they are not following the original story of the webtoon and make the story suited for the drama (maybe its because they decided to follow the original webtoon 100%, and only add/edit minor part of the story). OK maybe this is just me expecting too much on this drama. Despite all of it, i think all the actors done very good job at delivering their characters. Thanks to this drama, i got to know Jang Kiyong, bingewatched all his past dramas and in instant he is one of my favorite korean actor, now waiting for his next drama X'D

Gumiho Jul 26 2021 6:48 am I really love this series. It made me laugh a lot. Sometimes, I take break in watching kdramas coz most of the dramas nowadays are too serious or too dark. During these stressful times, I just really want to watch a light romcom and this drama is the perfect fit for me. The plot may not be perfect nor deep (well, it's a romcom) but this series had me entertained and gave me happiness. I just love the humor and all the characters, especially the trio bestfriends, WooYeoxHyesun's bickering, the Lee and Gye siblings and the lovelines ofc. Hyesun is actually my favorite character out of them all. She's so funny and adorable. She's also reliable, loyal and kind-hearted. I love her interaction will all the other characters, esp JaeJin. They're so adorable couple. I actually wanted to know more of her past but I'm still satisfied with her storyline. I hope Kang Han Na can finally get a lead role soon after this. She's a great actress tbh and so pretty. I also liked Bae In Hyuk. My heart actually ached for Sunwoo sunbae but this has always been the fate of second leads ㅠㅠ I also had a strong SLS because of him but I still love WooYeo and Dam's pairing and I'm rooting for them till the end. I love Jang Ki Yong' and Hyeri's chemistry. Glad that they got their happy ending. I was also hoping for SooKyung and Seok sunbae to end up together. That scene in the final episode where they had a red thread connecting between them because of his jacket and her ring really made me laugh a lot. Haha

Anyways, as a romcom, MRIAG did well and I'll recommend this to anyone who wants to watch a light romcom.

Lucky Jul 23 2021 2:04 am Jang ki yong acted based on the script and character. He played an emotionless inhumane creature here so thats why he didnt make many expressions. But if u watch it till the end you will find the development of his character. He did comedy, action, melo, and even dual roles here. his dual roles in eps 7 even gets praised by knetz.

For me he is a consistant actor. He embodied every character he plays. For shin wooyeo, I love how sometimes he talks using tone and accents that used by oldies people in sk. Sometimes he didnt have dialog but his eyes always conveyed his emotion. This side of him is new because he tends play as thugs and psychos in his past dramas.

Just like kang hanna said in an interview he is a detailed and reliable actor.

They've been a part of my weekly habit, the sadness and extravagant laughter in every episodes, especially the face of Lee Hyeri coz she reminds me of her role in Reolye 1988, Jang Ki Yong's poker face, deep sexy voice and alluring smile ahhhh I'm gonna die. Kang Han Na's sophistacated aura, Kim Do Wan's cute and chinky eyes, Park Kyung Hye's laughtrip lines. Their characters are great match. Imma bit sad coz it has come to an end, and I don't think I could move on easily. Im going to rewatch it again. I'm gonna miss all of the cast. My separation anxiety hits everytime as I watched a one really good kdrama huhuhu. I'm so sad right now that I don't want to end it. Hope TVN produce more kdramas like this genre. Hyeri and Jang Ki-Yong made a beautiful onscreen couple and Bae In-Hyuk's portrayal of second lead was excellent. You could feel the emotions from his character. The friends done a great job and the rivalry between Kang Han-Na and JKY was hilarious. I liked the character Hye-Sun the best, she was so funny in this and her comedic timing is perfect.

ym Jul 15 2021 1:07 pm Bravo to screenwriter and director. Good story. Funny and touching drama. The only thing I don't like is Lee Dam's character is similar to Duk Sun (Reply 1988). Hyeri acting has improved in this drama. The way she is so happy falling in love is so real. I always love Jang Ki-Yong's acting in Search WWW and now he is acting very well as Gumiho. He is always cool and sweet guy. Bae In-Hyuk as Sun Woo loving Lee Dam is also touching story but too bad he has no chance. Competitor is too strong for him. Kang Han-Na as Hye Sun is really lovely. She is sexy with innocence thinking. It was interesting character. But it is sad ending if she really use the marble to make her boyfriend forget about her. I had enjoyed this drama. Thank you to all cast and crew!

Jelita Jul 15 2021 11:03 am At first, I didn' interest with any Kdrama mention Gumiho as their main idea. But when I watch the first episode, it is so different with other romance comedy kdramas. It has good cinematopgraphy, great casts, nice plot and many good things from this Drama that can make you enjoy when you watch it. Brilliant for episode 16, that can make me cries for the first 40 minutes and laugh at the last 20 minutes.

Hope I can watch Hyeri n Jang Ki-Yong at other Kdramas.

But everyone should remember the train wreck that was Start-Up when writers unite characters that are not meant to be, just to be unique or contrarian.

The fact of the matter is Sun-Woo as a second male lead is just that, a second lead to create tension between Lee Dam and Woo-Yeo. He is selfish and lacking respect for those he desire. And has no understanding of consent from a modern perspective. This is not the 1990s, chasing someone so aggressively shows that you only care about your happiness, not theirs, and it's not romantic. So hope that the writers do not betray their own characters and condone the fantasy that is Sun-Woo, doing so does not send a good message to the viewership.

People that are rooting for the second guy, clearly have no understanding of what consent means. Hyeri is so cute and funny also has great emotions when she's sad you can see it in her eyes. Kang Han Na is pretty, she's so funny the way she delivered the scenes is so great like you didn't expect it to happen, she's perfect for being Hye-sun. I think this could give people an idea that this is what a healthy relationship is supposed to be. He is kind of controlling, doesn't trust, and it's just her always trying to do things to make him happy. And he is only doing things to make her happy because he is thinking Seonwoo could give her these normal things. I don't like this drama anymore, it's just been like two episodes of straight jealousy.

Tbh, what I really love is how sweet and caring and soft-spoken Woo-yeo is. Usually, you see this type of characters being cold and arrogant and I'm over it. Woo-yeo can be intimidating if he wants to but he's an extreme softie. And he's also really hot! I love certain horror elements in the drama, it's not just full on romance and comedy, it makes it more interesting. At first I actually started to view Dam's personality as a little too exaggerated, I found her way of cutesy talking annoying, but it's gotten better. It's ep 10 and she somehow seems a bit more mature now and also talks in a calmer manner. I love the chemistry between the main leads and there are also so many other handsome characters. I also like her relationship with Sun-woo. Can't wait for future episodes!

nae Jun 27 2021 12:09 am I have read the webtoon but the drama gives me new feeling, i cant help to wait for next eps. tbh the drama is even better than the webtoon. somehow the webtoon is a bit stiff. glad hyeri play the role as lee dam, she's indeed a mood maker , and living meme. she makes me cried and laughed as always. the first romance drama ever for her character. because reply1988 is more about family, entertainer is about dream, and tho her character in two cops is a reporter, i'd say it's a small role, since the main focus is the ghost and the cop (more like bromance than romance lol), and miss lee is about workers. Almost 1 M people following hyeri and kiyong on insta because of this drama. congrats to the team and casts.

Ranok Jun 25 2021 7:26 am I started watching it from past weekend and till now its good. All actors are doing justice to their roles. But what irks me is storyline. After watching 10th episode Im feeling bit suffocated. I think this series going to end with not too good happy ending. Now I'm thinking to skip next 5 episodes and watch final episode(16th) final 10 min to clear off the curiosity. If its good then I will watch the skipped episoded. Damn these korean dramas thay are addictive and my heart cannot stand the cliffhanger endings. From past 5 weekends Im watching kdramas 12 hrs a day and cannot afford to leave the series incomplete else my work day is getting effected. I hope "Gye Sun-Woo" and "Lee dam" thing wont last long. I know its just a story not real life, so I'm hoping for happy ending like "my girlfriend is gumiho" series.

No hate tho but I thought Lee Dam's character in the webtoon was different with what Hyeri portray here, but it's not bad too since I love Hyeri anyway. Btw I hope Hyesun and Dojae(jin) really end up in the drama lmao I ship them so much

The cutesy vibe is what's keeping me in. Of course I knew this would be a cliche story, that's why I'm watching it. Although I'm not sure if I'm being contradicting when I say the relationship between Shin Woo-Yeo and Lee Dam is not the slightest bit realistic. As of right now I'm saying, "of course it's not supposed to be realistic, it's a cliche!" But hear me out, I can stand all the actors acting, the characters' personalities, the CGI, but I somehow keep getting disheartened by how the couple reacts to one another. There's no communication and they just keep assuming how the other one feels thus putting both of them in pain. And with the recent episode, where they do make up, it's fairly brief and does not discuss other points of what has made them hurt. Then they're all good again? Look, don't get me wrong, I'm all for making up immediately but if certain things are not addressed, there will be clog in the relationship and future problems if all is not in the air. I'm not sure if I should watch Thursday's episode as I only watched the Wednesday one, but... from the last episode's preview, I'm saddened there are no compromises they make and thus they push away each other again. I absolutely understand that without problems, it wouldn't be a Kdrama but I was hoping they'd progressively and steadily grow a healthy dynamic even if it's not romantic (yet). And to fight together against the problem bringing them closer. But eh, it's not that deep especially this is just a show. I loved the webtoon and I'm not dropping this because of how long I waited for this to drop + I wanna know how it ends.

I dont know if anybody notices it but Kang Hanna is a pro here. She should be the lead after this. Others character were just so-so and this drama gonna be put at the bottom on my list because there are more exciting drama better than this...the plot was really easily predicted and the leads both of them was acting unnaturally..wkwkwkwkwkw

At first before the drama aired I thought he wouldn't be able to portray it right cause he has a different aura around him but I was so shocked when I saw how well he did it.. I have watched most of his shows but this drama really made me his actual fan.. Not because of the drama, its just eh and comedy scenes are forced but Jang Ki Yong performed very well

This Drama Is One Of The Best Kdramas Of 2021. Period. It has almost all the elments in it - from thriller to comedy to romance.The lead actors have hreat chemistry, they can really act (albeit 'there's alway e provement') and all the other actors are equally good. It's Based On A Webtoon so ffs stop complaining about the storyline. Also, to the people saying Ki-Yong is 'showing 0 emotions', please go read the webtoon before y'all start whining. He's playing his part quite well actually.

The scenes are glamorously shot, the humour and drama are very well balanced and I am charmed at the dynamic between the main leads as well as the second leads especially how the gap between their age and personalities are highlighted. I am just wondering though how the plot will unfold starting from episodes 9 onwards. The story is so fast paced and they pretty much wrapped up the case with the 'downtown murderer.' will they be focusing now on the relationships between the characters? If so, I am not complaining, ha. This means we are back on fluff, folks!

But the only changes that I can tolerate is that the second male lead was born in the year which Lee Dam cannot has skinship with and some of new characters such as his younger brother, Kang Hanna's character and her girl best friend.

Jang Ki Yong did a good job in portraying a mysterious but kind gumiho. Bae In Hyuk also did a good job for Seon Woo (the character really annoys me in webtoon and drama. what with always want to touch Dam..). As for Hyeri, she has a room for improvement and she got some of Dam's traits especially never reject free food and expressive in her opinions. Overall, I really enjoy watching this drama.

I'm aware that are views of this show varies but that's what makes this world so beautiful and interesting, we can all look at the same thing but our opinions can be completely different. Also, this is fiction so we don't have to take it too serious, just enjoy watching it. If it takes you into another world and takes your mind off reality, then its done its job. It did for me! Can't wait for the other episodes

Brittaney Jun 16 2021 6:23 pm I think the ratings dropped because in the first episode the premise initially seems hard to buy into, especially if you’re one to tend toward a more realistic drama (like me). However, having the navigate a bunch of current dramas and their release times I decided to give this a try while I wait. I normally wouldn’t have stuck with it for the aforementioned reasons however I found the characters to draw me in. I enjoyed the anticipation of them developing feelings for one another but with the potential obstacles they’d have to try and overcome (at least I hope). I also love the possible love triangle and possible redemption of the popular guys character. So it’s got enough suspense balanced with light-heartedness, humor and romance that proves really refreshing. Anyway just the thoughts of a US based Kdrama fan. #fighting

Manwha or whatever its called in korean almost always have the male leads like the main lead with no emotions. A quick look at any manhwa adapted series to korean dramas, like cheese in the trap. True beauty all main leads act with no emotions. That is the way they're played if you don't like don't watch manhwa adaptation series then.

The acting is superb, Jang Ki Young fit the role of a Gumiho, he is handsome and he carry the role. No emotions? Yes because he wanted to show to Lee Dam and everyone that he had no emotions. The cast is great and the plot premise is also great but the balance is off. They need to use the second lead more, the main leads romance can wait. The only reason why I am still watching is because of Dam's comic outburst on rare occasion and I adore the very rare sibling chemistry of the second lead ( every thing good Is very rare in this drama). It breaks my heart to watch something I have anticipated..getting ruined. I think the best episode so for is Ep2.

The cinematography is pretty and their cute 2d animations definitely add more fun to the drama and make everything pop out well. I love it how Sir is confused most of the times and questioning himself where he did wrong but still managed to have a heart to heart communication with Dam. I also love the sincere and pure friendship between Do Jae Jin and Dam, so happy the writer didn’t make them fall in love with each other. Man and woman can become bestfriends, like Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprio.

Oh and to the people judjing, I actually think Jang Ki Yong is perfect for this role especially for someone who actually read the webtoon. The moment I saw him I didn't even looked twice to check if he fits the role, his physique, and voice is actually pretty similar to what I imagine his voice would be when I read the webtoon lol. He is an amazing actor all in all.

Since I've only seen ep1 both leads are lacking in so many ways for Jang Ki I feel he was acting like a Robot instead of a Mystical being, for Hyeri I don't hate her she is funny but she is not a Female Lead material. TBH I feel like TVN is pouring a lot salt with the Nine Tail fox since it was a flop, they are pressure to top of their own the dramas like Goblin, Hotel del Luna, Hwayugi, CLOY, Mr.Queen and many more. The drama that I mention has both good actors and story as for this drama the story is good but the actors are Meh.....

This is my first time to watch Jang Ki Yeong on the screen( except from Sweet and Sour). I have to be honest, Lee Dong Wok had been my ideal gumiho, I tend to compare his acting skills with JKY's but as the episodes unfold, I'm learning to love SWY's character. He is doing great and He Is Seriously Enchantinggg. ✨ So handsome!!

The casting is Daebakkk!! Director and editors are also great! *clap* the script has content even from the book references mentioned. I Love Love Love this drama. Huhu

But I couldn't understand why some people in this comment section saying the lead characters are doing bad in acting.... Like ehhhh?? I really couldn't see anything wrong, and Hyeri did a great job for accepting this role and it suits her well. I can't imagine any other actress who can nail the role of 'Lee Dam' except for Hyeri. I find myself skip all the scenes having Dam and her friends and watch the scenes with JKY only. Acting is not how you scream or laugh or curse, he’s a kind, chic and warm man, his expression, voice tone has to be gentle and soft. To me among all the actors appearing on screens lately, his acting is one of the bét, not to mention his voice and body proportions. I find Lee Dam a bit overacting, I know some of you might hate me for saying that but it’s true. But she’s doing a very good job so far and I love the main leads chemistry. JKY is bad at acting is the funniest thing I’ve heard in years. If you hate his acting that much, then drop this drama because it only gets worse from now on for you.

Talking from my experience of reading the webtoon, I feel like the main lead portrays the webtoon character very well indeed! it’s a plus how he is amazingly handsome. Moreover, I could honestly see and feel the webtoon dam come to life with Hyeri’s acting. I mean the hilarious facial expression she pulls throughout the drama are textbook.

Bella Jun 05 2021 10:07 pm Actually, if anyone has read the webtoon thoroughly, you'd notice they are portraying the characters so well--to the tea. And I genuinely enjoy it more than the webtoon! They have brought more life into the live-action and the actors are doing it splendidly! There is such chemistry between them that I can't explain why. This drama, in contrast with an earlier drama about a fox too, is a lighthearted one but displays a refreshing side amidst the pandemic. Everytime I watch it I feel like I have this momentary pleasure thus pushing me to do my homework with a smile. Maybe cliche, but still, anyone wouldn't have gone far to comment their opinions if it wasn't triggering them in some way.

Also he’s so hot to be true like wth, at first it was hard for me to identify him and the 2nd male but now wow I dont think I’ll be able to forget this beautiful gentleman. Overall this drama is well written and well directed so far. Covid caused me so much headache and boredom so watching this drama really refreshing and enjoyable. I can’t wait for the next ep so I find myself more productive as i want to finish all my tasks and be comforable in bed with my loved one and enjoy this show. Anyway everyone has their own taste but this show is clearly doing very well internationally and in korea too, i can read korean so the people there seem to like it a lot. You can say all you want, the actors are getting better at acting and the story seems more fun each episode and I’m glad this show got its own taste ,which is not for everyone. Best ongoing drama recently.

The leads have healthy communication, are pretty polite and respectful with each other, and i really appreciate how they try to adjust to each other's personality, with that the male lead being an old soul, mature and serene which is understandable since he has lived for centuries. Lee Dam on the other hand, is a modern college student who doesn't hesitate to speak her mind, is quite handful, but is polite to Shin Woo Yeo (999-year old gumiho). It is nice that the writers made the characters consistent with their personality, and not with the usual mood swings we see in drama land where characters are sweet in one episode and throwing a tantrum the next. The characters are somehow realistic in this one. All in all, this is a lovable series with amazing line up of actors and actresses. Stamped: Highly Recommended.

Backpackers Jun 04 2021 9:33 pm both leading actors are bad at acting, and also some of supporting actors as well.. jang kiyong has been this bland and boring since go back couple, with no slight improvement at all after 4 years, his fans should stop complaining on his female leads because he deserves all his female leads that he is paired with lately.. hyeri always duksunized her characters, no wonder her best acting was in reply 1988 (I can tolerate her in miss lee) and after that even some of the best actors like jisung and jo jungsuk couldn't save her... I know both actor and actress are handsome and pretty but I don't really buy visual dramas, I prefer less handsome and pretty actors with awesome acting skill

the plot is average, typical cliched drama and there is no creativity in it... just a plain stupid romcom that only fangirls are buying because of handsome but plain oppa..

The comedic moments between the characters, their chemistry and most of all, the dynamics between the first and second lead couples --everything's sooo good!! Some people argue that the plot and scenes are cliche but the way the actors and actresses portray their characters are a breathe of fresh air and is beyond ordinary. Whenever i think about this series, i feel so positive and happy.

Thank you for these series, i loved it and hope others love it as well. This is highly recommended!

This is definitely entertaining. Love Hyeri on this series. I love her chemistry with Jang Ki Yong. Its very light and funny. A good break after watching something heavy like the Penthouse.

At first when I read the synopsis, I was kind of underestimated this. I’ve seen some k-dramas with similar storyline (about Gumiho) and I expected it to be boring, but wow I’m impressed when I watch it. The story is a normal rom-com but it’s not boring at all. In fact the story is very interesting.

I can feel the amazing chemistry between the main lead. Their chemistry even amazing since the 1st episode. Jang Ki Young and Hyeri are perfect for the role. Their acting is amazing.

Sometimes when they talk about “Marble” it seems like they talk about their baby in Lee Dam’s belly hahaha that’s cute. Anyway, the story is getting more interesting in ep 2 and now I can’t wait to watch episode 3. For everyone who wants to watch refreshing and lovely drama, I recommend this for you. You’ll not disappointed.

It gives me major hotel del luna vibe plus goblin . Remember,with this type of drama , you should watch it without a logic reasoning. For male lead acting, he perfectly deliver his role as shin woo Yeon ( he is old, charming, creepy and mysterious) . Those who criticize him clearly doesn’t watch him before in come and hug me, go back couple, my mister and many more. Hyeri as always, she deliver well her character. One my favorite character is Kang Han Na ‘s character. She is so pretty, and her face really suit to be a Gumiho. Anyway, i can’t wait for the next episode because i enjoyed the first two episodes so much. The humor in this drama really suit my taste. Watching drama is all about your own preference, If you don’t like it, simply drop it.

She looks elegant, pretty and cute at the same time but her charming point is her inability to understand idioms and figures of speech. She's taking Mr. Gumiho's word literally.

Hanna is so perfect match for Hyesun's character. Her acting is undoubtedly when it comes to character introduction, her wise appearance, body movement, vocal clarity, micro-expressions, all are on point. She knows how to maximize the screen time to carry out the role.

Also, Hanna played opposite characters for a few months, that's Injae(startup) who Smart and very capable character and Hyesun who Dumb and somewhat clueless.

Its such a fresh breath from all tragic dramas going on..i can't understand why people are saying that its boring and typical gumiho sad ending drama when only 2 episodes have been aired till know..and about hyeri's acting it is amazing..i love how she does'nt care how she is looking and makes funny faces that is pure acting..

Yuri Kim May 27 2021 1:37 pm first of all i have no idea why on earth ya'll saying this is boring yet nothing new... even though the plot could be not of a fresh content it still moves the viewer's heart especially when their tryna watch the ones from nowadays.... and about Hyeri's acting the people who says her acting is bad probably has never seen a good acting before... the character in movie itself is already the free type and shes expressing them super clearly with cute points... as a viewer this drama really worth the hype... also the ending could also be not a sad ending though... pls just predict too early... thanks for your time reading bit of my expressions<3

Since Reply 1988 was a hit and she starred in long-episode drama (family drama) she gained lots of popularity not to say her successful youtube channel. This is her first time acting in fantasy-romance drama too like chill. Jang Kiyong always have good chemistry with every female leads he acted and I'm sure Hyeri is too.
