Natsuki Obana (Takuya Kimura) is a chef, specializing in French cuisine. He runs a restaurant in Paris that has earned 2 stars from Michelin Guide. Natsuki Obana is confident, but he suffers from pressure trying to attain 3 stars. An unexpected case takes place. Due to that, he loses his restaurant and colleagues. Under a very difficult situation, he meets female chef Rinko Hayami (Kyoka Suzuki). They decide to start a restaurant together and struggle to make the restaurant 3 stars.

Dee Sep 13 2024 7:26 am I just finished watching this on Netflix. So good! I'm an avid fan of The Bear season 1 and 2 and I thought no foodie drama will ever be as good. But La Grande Maison Tokyo definitely is up there too. I love the chemistry between Obana and Hayami. I also love how in the end they all became a perfect team. Now I can't wait for La Grande Maison Paris!

Hana Oct 25 2022 7:43 pm Woah, came across this drama too late. If you ever love your Michelins and The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, this is the drama for you. In fact, I came across this when I was going through some Michelin restaurants on YouTube. And it is done very well. The drama even had L’ambroisie featured in the 1st episode.

Why didn’t anyone else come up with such a drama earlier? There are so much great materials for plot lines. I also like how instead of trailers for next episode they actually did back stories of some characters (mostly of Shohei’s relationship but sometimes it differs).

J dramas have not been doing well for a long time now but this is really good.

Michelin stars (detour grade).

aki Nov 05 2021 2:48 pm No wonder Kimura Takuya is known as the "King of Japanese Drama". Only him can outperform and outdo himself. All of his dramas and his performances are just topnotch.

DramaExpert Jun 09 2021 11:00 am An absolutely fantastic drama. It's one of those that set a standard what Japanese dramas can and should be like. Wonderfully casted (except perhaps for the French wife, who was casted for her language skills, not acting or appearance or suitability), but other than that great cast, awesome story and music and everything else. Highly recommended.

Especially, I would like to highly commend Rinda ＲICHARD, performed by Ai Tominaga, of her linguistic ability and her beauty and dignity. Her appearance grips the scene of television.

Take the most refined cuisine in the world (French cuisine), which gave "cuisine" its name. Hit the two together. haru Oct 08 2019 7:58 am I think 2019 is when Kimura Takuya works at hotels. After watching Masquerade Hotel where he pretended to be a hotelman, now he becomes a chef at a hotel. Also waiting for Tamamori Yuta after watching him as Detective Haruya.
