In 1997, a mysterious ghost (Lee Si-Young) saved humankind and then disappeared. The mysterious ghost appears again 24 years later and helps a serial killer's (Kim Sung-Kyun) escape. Kim Sae-Ha (Seo Kang-Joon), Jung Sae-Byeok (Kim A-Joong) and Song Eo-Jin (Kim Moo-Yul) pursue the ghost for different reasons.

Aozora May 09 2022 8:28 am Just complered watching this show which was pretty good in the beginning but turned a bit mediocre from episode six.

This show is basically the Korean version of DC Flashpoint story arc involving The Flash and other DC characters in which The Flash tried to run back to the past to prevent the death of his mother. However, upon turning back the time, the Flash realized he would also change present and in the process he created multiple timelines with their own possibilities. Time travel story most likely confuses people.

In this show, the character travelled back many times, like The Flash, also creating multiple timelines, thus it is said couple times in the show that: Time does not flow. What it means was there was not singular time flowing, but multiple everytime one altered the past.

The main guy was killed in the story, but in the end the police woman met some characters from different timelines, or dimension if you like. That's why the ex-husband said she had told him the baby's name. That's why also why we saw two Ghosts, one who was lying unconcious and one holding the baby. That's is also why the old guy at the end said what he said.

The show is concluded, telling us there are many timelines with their own possibilities, like in the Flashpoint. It would be pointless and futile to make the second season showing endless possibilities.

Like many time travel stories, this show also has many loop holes, but they are mostly ignorable. The real annoying one for me is seeing how they build up this super government agency, like the super CIA or MI-6, but it feels very cheap. Like the super intel team has only four members. Like when the captured a time traveller, but the gov only have two medical people to study her. Really? Even at my kidney stone removal simple procedure, I have many more medical personnel attending me. And, I travel by ride sharing.

The guy character looked interesting at beginning, but turned boring from the middle. The poluce woman also quite annoying, a police that always tried to break rules whenever she could. The coolest cast, for me that kept me going, was the cast. She just looked cool.

KK Apr 27 2022 1:43 am Here is my interpretation after watching episode 10. Could be wrong. Spoilers alert!

Baby should be from Saebyeok and her ex-husband. They had a romantic night together after attending Saeha’s funeral.

When the ghost and Minho was surrounding Saeha and Saebyeok, Minho was attempting to revive Saeha. The ghost stopped him initially until Minho clarified that he was not the culprit. Nonetheless, Minho’s power was not enough to save Saeha. Saeha continued to bleed and die.

Saebyeok was breaking apart so the ghost was trying to hold Saebyeok together. Saebyeok pleaded the ghost to save Saeha. Hence the ghost could have somehow managed to revive Saeha or pulled him up from his ashes/deathbed (this is a scientific show =P) or gotten another Saeha from another dimension in the last scene.

One point to note is that the power of Minho and the ghost seem to be restricted since the start of the district junction scene where the thief and Saeha had died. They seem to encounter countering forces. The radar showed a few potential agents moving around same time. Then all disappeared same time with the ghost and Minho.

Last few scenes of Minho and the older guy destroying the grid facilities and the white Si-Young lying there could be their preparation for Season 2. (If uniform plays a part, the white futuristic-looking Saeha and the white Si-Young could be from the same universe.)

The ghost mentioned that they have tried to alter the past multiple times so that more people could have survived in the future, so may result in some distorted repercussions. Eg. multiple universe could have been arose due to these alterations and people from the different universe fighting against one another due to different goals.

I hope I have interpreted correctly. As this show is super complicated, I would advise not doing other things except for munching snacks/peanuts and drinking coke/beer while you are watching this show and please don’t anyhow fast-forward or backwards. Haha. Enjoy!

Who is the guy (maze runner-minho) and the older guy who was seen towards the last? Where did they come from? And why did he come to fight with the ghost? What did the ghost and that mysterious guy do surrounding Saeha and Saebyok? I need all these answers or I might go crazzzzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyy

I do hope there is Season 2, that can solve the mystery or tell us all what really happened, i dont want to mess up my mind thinking about it. Lol.

KK Apr 22 2022 12:43 am I’m currently watching till middle of ep8 and have to keep pausing to digest information. Here’s what I gathered till now. Hope can help clarify a bit. Spoilers ahead!

From ep1-7, Sae Ha’s dad, who is the doctor in 1997, had died and his mum became vegetative from over-drinking due to depression. So he was sent to a foster home, could be his uncle, and that’s why he was holding another surname.

In ep7, he managed to save his dad and that’s why he was holding his original surname. His dad also managed to generate wealth from his researches against the heat wave.

In ep8, he left his dad to die as the ghost has to kill his dad as part of the grid but he managed to save his mum from depression so he still retained his actual surname.

The thief should be the son of the janitor as Sae Ha accidentally blinded his right eye in one of the time travels and the thief was featured with a blinded right eye immediately afterwards within the same timeline.

Initially I had assumed that Sae Ha was the janitor’s son and thought that the janitor was the only one who had died in 1997 so caused a lot of confusions and brain damage for me ?

The Drama Queen Apr 20 2022 3:06 pm First, what a confusing ending! It really racked my brain trying to make sense out of it! Now, here is what came out all of this time thinking. It is far-fetched, but the entire ending is at this point.

So, what if we assume that time "doesn't flow", as She Byeok said, but is rather made up of different timelines/time realities. In that case, a first timeline would be one, in which Kim Ma Nok and the janitor survive, the Grid is not created and there is the solar eruption (the future Sae Ha visited). That being said, we could also assume that the man at the end (Yoo Jae Myung), who captured the Ghost, is a descendant of Kim Ma Nok (as he didn't die). He captured the Ghost to make sure that the Grid would never happen and send his "employee" (if I may say) in other realities to destroy it as well. I know there is a hole in all this: Why wouldn't he send him further back in time, like before the creation of the Grid? Well, maybe because the Ghost from the other realities prevents him from doing so (I don't know, I am just stretching the theory!). So in that reality, destroying the Grid from the get-go is not an option and maybe Yoo Jae Myung actually got something huge out of this situation (for example money, like Sae Ha's parents in the future version).

That being said, we can now talk about the second and potentially third realities, those with Sae Ha, the Ghost and Sae Byuk. What if the Ghost actually managed to bring Sae Ha back to life, because she was not disturbed by the other guy with the device? In that case, Kim Ma Nok may (or not) be dead, Sae Byuk alive and Sae Ha as well. No baby is conceived then. All is well. But problems arise in the future, forcing Sae Byuk or the Ghost to travel with the device (I think Sae Byuk and the Ghost are somehow connected at the end), Sae Byuk informs her ex-husband, who lives in the timeline/reality when the baby is conceived and Sae Ha dead (this would explain why Sae Byuk doesn't know if her baby is the one that will start this entire story with the Grid, or maybe a future one, or one from another timeline). The ex-husband goes get her and the baby and brings them to Sae Ha and the Ghost from the other time reality, who also have a device to travel from one place to another in time.

If realities are different, then this could explain why at the end, we see 2 different Ghosts, Sae Ha alive and why Eo Jin says his ex-wife told him about the baby.

Other possibilities: - There were numerous people with devices present at the same place, when Sae Ha died. If each and every person tried to influence the course of things, it may have had an influence on the outcome by creating different scenarios. This could explain why Lee Ki Hong's device went on Sae Ha by itself and he said: "I am not doing this".

- Sae Byuk does the exact same thing Sae Ha did in the drama, traveling through time several times, playing and re-playing scenarios with the Ghost's device.

I know it is a long comment, sorry about that, but my brain is Literally on fire!

Right now, I sincerely hope they will make a second season, otherwise it would be a pure waste of time and energy! Too bad for such a promising story...

and if saeha steals his father's id he's going to look for it anyways and the ghost will always go to that room/try to go into that room to try and complete grid so i think we are still missing something so hahahaha more waiting i guess?

i also think that everyone in the sequence of making grid needs to know that grid has to be made so they should just like "stop" in their steps and wait until grid is finished and then go on with their lives (like how the security guard knew saeha from before when he told him to not tell anyone, nothing was changed when he went back to present time where everything was fine before the ghost was captured) okay thats enough my brain hurts

Kai Apr 08 2022 12:54 am Saeha’s father is the doctor whose ID tag was taken away. Don’t think the ghost is the descendent of Saeha or the female detective as they would be too old in 2091. The actress playing the ghost is 40 years old this year, definitely doesn’t look her age. What I couldn’t understand is why the ghost wants to help the murderer.

Also, I thought of a way to save the grid, janitor and saeha father. Saeha steals the id tag from his father, learn how to create the grid from the ghost, locks himself in Lab 1 to program the grid. Solved. No contact between janitor, janitor son, himself, his father and the ghost. Not sure why killing the janitor prevents the ghost from perishing.

Into Ep 4, and one haven't known the mission of the ghost, why she carry out her plans, did she have a problem with the father of the kid she killed. This series is confusing, and also the ending scene of every episodes seems to be the best.

I prefer to wait until they’re all out (or nearly)so I can watch each night & remember everything that’s happening. I’ve only seen Kang-Joon in Cheese in the Trap & loved his character. US Netflix carries a lot of K-dram as, but is still limited.

Kang Jun's truly a versatile actor. It's so good to see Kim Ah Joong doing this. Hope a lot of people would get to like this and would watch it.

I also like the cast, one is Seo Kang Joon of course, I watched him in "Are You, Human, Too". He is a great actor and of course opah. I hope it doesn't air for a long time, I hope it doesn't wait a week just for the next episode. Can't wait for the next episode. Fighting!
